CoinMarket.io status update

1. What happened?

Reading between the lines:

We beg via official channels for weeks for an honest transparent accounting of the issues and updates in some frequency as to what is being done to remedy them.  We are met with infrequent and vague reports.  Then some users freak out and attack the innocent hosting service provider - and this does the trick.  This post is all we have been asking for.  Regular updates on the progress of the fixes - even if that means describing new issues as they are found - is all we wanted.

Because it took such extreme measures to get this information out of Coinmarket, I'm actually thankful for the assholes that harassed the hosting company.  Sometimes an angry idiot can wake people up to what they SHOULD have been doing ALL ALONG.

No sympathy here.  Keep up the regular updates, and I might just consider using this exchange again in future.....

youre welcome

I just wish people demanded more communication and accountability. I mean, I saw this guy screaming at a pizza dude because there wasn't enough pepperoni... But on here, people write terribly rude things toward people who are legitimately afraid for the security of their investment. There has been a lot of drama in the crypto world and rather than attack each other, we ought to attack the exchanges who are treating us like children. Is it because we act like children on these forums? Perhaps. The reason why they choose to not communicate is not important. The lack of importance placed on their clientele is obvious. We deserve a 2-3 word update.

We (investors) are grooming these exchanges to be the future of finance. We need to stop bending over and start standing up.

I beg of you people to start making demands on these exchanges for the sake of our future. It seems smart to vote with your money for the exchanges that will go above and beyond. Time will tell. In the end, I hope that our losses become the martyrs of progress.

In transparency I trust.

I understand you being concerned, but you only have yourself to blame. To have US$5000 on a site that is clearly marked as in BETA !

I've been using the site but quickly depositing, trading then moving my funds back out. Clearly you do not understand the premise of BETA. It's unfortunate that google has given people the wrong idea of what beta really is. Beta means code that is under development and not meant for production use.

So seeing the site marked as BETA I'm careful not to have too many eggs in the basket, and no more then I am willing to loose.

If you are using the site for volume trading your on the wrong site or be willing to loose what ever is there.

Once the site is at RC1 I would expect, more and better communication from the developers.

I just think your on the wrong site for your needs at this time.
+1,

btw they updated their Twitter account:
<>

You think that using an exchange from an anti-crypto anti-internet communist country is safer?
I recently lost coins on coinmarket.io

"Teenager makes a website called imayloseyourmoney.com - Gets rich" People on the internet think that BETA is an excuse for theft.

Regulations will ensnare the community if the community doesn't start demanding a higher standard of business, showing that we are a self governing group. We are all blaming each other for being stupid and trusting exchanges. In essence, by lazily pointing fingers at each other for trusting this or that exchange, we are destroying our chance to create dialogue and start demanding what we deserve.

Tell me the last fully functional website/game/program/operating system that was released after BETA testing - still containing massive flaws. Stop picking on each other and start demanding that exchanges grow up. I have faith that an exchange will emerge to cripple the current options. The community will eventually realize how lazily these current sites were thrown together.
Its time to create a classy exchange.

If we don't need the government to step in then its time for us to step up.

Let us imagine that we are smart people discussing the future of our business. We see that our customers are becoming hysterical with the lack of efficient communication to those brave investors who will ultimately decide the fate of the exchange by validating its legitimacy or falicy.

We choose to ignore our customers until downright revolt and police threats.

What does this show about the company?

This lack of public information was a result of misunderstandings between PR people.

Our current estimate is that CoinMarket.io will resume normal operation (with trading) in 24 hours.
The extended downtime is required to patch some critical issues, fix clogged up wallets and run full database audits.

Please relax. We will be doing our best to keep the site avalible for withdrawals until trading is restarted.

We are not going anywhere, more technical information coming soon.

All withdrawals that failed without an txid will be processed manually (most of them already processed).

Please relax? How bout you STOP relaxing and start acting like a professional who gives a fuck about his reputation. Your exchange was killed by your neglect. PR people? As if we believe that you have PR people working from your mother's garage. You will never get a single coin from me again. Coinmarket, where the speed matters, is DEAD to the community - because that is how you have been acting. We demand better communication. Put down the bottle of vodka and bag of cocaine next time you are running a business because you have been acting like drug addicts. Why should we ever support you when you are obviously incompetent at even communicating, let alone running a business.

Misunderstandings between PR people usually don't result in a week long information black-out from a business treading the waters of the GOX disaster. Judging from your fantastic display of idiocy, I doubt you know how to use email.

But hey, we really appreciate this little update - with no apology - and another 24 hour estimate - and ZERO technical details. Thanks for taking 60 seconds out of your party to tell the us whiney pigs to quiet down. Sorry, but we are full of bullshit and can't take anymore. Lets hear some real communication.

You have held my money hostage for a long time.

Please give me my money back.

Stop making me beg for it.

PM me to solve this.

Ahh crap.  I think I sent coins to an exchange wallet address belonging to Coinmarket (mislabeled by myself unfortunately) last night.  And looking at the current support issues, well, this isn't looking promising.

you are listening to about 2% of the users, who are probably quite young and immature, flipping the fuck out in this thread. At least 2 of the people flipping out in this thread, never even attempted to get support before flipping out in this thread.

Most of us have had no problems withdrawing under this upgrade.

nothing at all about this is like mtgox, people who say it are completely retarded.

I HAVE WITHDRAWN COINS.

I have sent coins and then withdrew them later.

They havetn communicated a lot.
they havent communicated ENOUGH.
But they havent "OMG THEY DISAPPEARED OF THE FACE OF THE EARTH, ZERO UPDATES.. I KEEP PM'n THEM EVEN THOUGH TECH SUPPORT SAYS USE THE THREAD"

But there are some little whiny ass bastards in this thread.

there are a couple people with legitimate problems and grievances who have tried to get help and havent really gotten the help they need yet but a majority of the flipping out "OMG THIS IS MTGOX II" people.. seem to just be trolls trying to spread FUD.

I get being upset. I dotn get being a stupid douche that doesnt read through a thread when upset his money is locked up. I dont get flipping the fuck out over the devs when you havent even requested once.. for help.. not even once. and yall are fucking it up for people who actually need help.

once again, not really happy with the communication and how coinmarket handled this upgrade.  THEY HAVE DONE SOME WRONGS.

but 90% of the freak out in this thead is pure bullshit.

Please cite the source of your information. What validates your confidence? What validates your mockery for the people who were fooled into getting raped by one of the 4 exchanges who are currently having serious issues? Your mockery does nothing but promote apathy and avert progress. Your communication should thereby be reinterpreted in a more positive way, such as "I believe in this exchange, because that is my opinion", instead of attempting to invalidate and mock the legitimate fears and concerns by those who are being raped by the exchanges. We are in this together - for the same reasons. Lets try and be more supportive. BTC

Relax, the only people who are complaining are the ones who had their withdrawals and they got stuck exactly at the same time the site was going offline.  Less than 1% of the people.  Almost everyone was able to withdraw their money.  The only ones complaining are the less than 1%.  Rightfully so, because it has been an extended time.

But. this is nothing like GOX,, so stop spreading FUD.  This is only effecting less than 1% of the users that had their withdrawals stuck.  Mine is stuck too. so m not happy, but lets stop trying to compare with GOX.

And yea, an update would be helpful. Like, the fixing the withdrawals are taking longer than expected.

Prove me wrong.

Get me my coins. I will pay you.

We may have just been goxxed.

Congrats. You're the first to point to the elephant in the room

I will take credit for that.

I've had no issues with this exchange.  Obviously they are in the middle of working on it, so if you can't cancel an order now, try again in a few hours.

This is a BETA exchange.  I understand what that means.  I for one would rather them fix the larger issues that spend time solving the handful of one off problems.

*IF* the goal was to steal your coins, they would just turn the site off completely and disappear overnight.  What good would it do them to pretend to be trying to resolve issues.

Coinmarket team - Keep up the good work!

Complainers - Please do find another exchange so these guys can focus on providing rational people a great exchange.

Just sayin... GOX played it the same way. Bad programming on primitive websites used for financial transactions is a recipe for disappointment. People referred me to coinmarket.io because it was "reputable". I chose to believe it. The lack of communication here shows me that I will not be getting my BTC back. I have coins in 2 FROZEN exchanges right now, 1 of which was just hacked. Sad

NO THEY DIDNT.

MTGOX WASNT BETA.

I havent had any issues getting my coins or canceling orders during this down time.

THERE HAS BEEN WAY WAY MORE COMMUNICATIONS THAT GOX DID.

90% of us can get our coin and cancel.. UNLIKE GOX.

I hope you're getting paid to stomp on my simple demands for communication. Its a warzone out here. Stop pretending like you think you know whats going on. I am worried about getting my coins. I am noticing a lack of communication. I see this as a pattern that people like you choose to not only accept, but defend. Im here because I have 5,000 dollars in coin on coinmarket.io and I am scared shitless. Im not 12 years old. Thanks for all your help.

"yall just come in here flipping out and dont even wait for an answer" - I waited. I waited past the 24 hour mark that they expected. Other than that, its been days now since Ive been able to trade. It is interesting how this community responds to my fear by calling me names and saying "you get what you deserve for using a BETA exchange."

the truth is, you are nothing but coldhearted sharks and I hope you all lose everything before money gives you any more power than you deserve.

You're talking to a bunch of semi-anonymous money traders, online. To expect anything other then cold-hearted sharks is naive -at best-.

1. You were warned, if by nothing else the -giant- beta marking on the site itself as well as a warning on the wallet page to not 'hold your entire bankroll on any exchange'. These things are not for their entertainment, and if you don't know that you really shouldn't be moving money about. Give it to more responsible people.

2. You're whining. No one likes whiners. If you wanted real resolution to this you wouldn't come to a "self-moderated support and news thread" and expect real help from airing your problems. You would wait with the rest of us to find out whats happening from the site owners themselves when they get around to it.

3. You don't want to risk withdrawing your money? In what way is that riskier then leaving it on a site that you don't trust? Either they put it on the block chain or they don't. If they do it gets to you, if they don't you're in no worse position then you were before. Just because they put little numbers in your account doesn't mean you get your money if they're intent on stealing it. Just ask the Gox users.

If you've read the thread you've seen many reports, now including mine, that state the withdrawls are working, and have been working fine. Thats far more evidence then you have for some mysterious future where you can use your printscreen as proof to someone who cares that some website in possibly another country ran off with your fake money.

..since you have been given a solution that has been working for most reasonable people AND refused it. ..you are once again, whining. ..and that is of no use to anyone.

I'm sure these teenagers appreciate the support but we need to talk more about accountability and communication.

All it takes is a 2 word update: "still working!"

But you and I are not worth that.

Its been more than 24 hours. The coinmarket update is extremely outdated. If they dont have the time to give an update, they dont have the time to triple check their code vulnerability, and when we all lose our coins to this exchange... people will tell us "It was in BETA".

It seems that crypto exchanges and the crappy programmers who design them are all learning from each other's terrible examples by freezing trades and ignoring their clients. Now go ahead everybody take your anger out on me and keep flattering coinmarket's golden turd of nothing.

I dont want to withdraw because the coins might just disappear. It is BETA after all. I watched this happen to GOX, Silk Road 1, Silk Road 2. Its downright trendy to HALT communication and trades at the same time for indefinite periods.

One thing that makes me insecure about the professionalism behind this coin is the lack of grammar used by Reddcoin in 100 percent of responses to those who have invested thousands of dollars.

Spotty written English is a bad sign to me. It makes me want to sell all my coins before I lose everything.

It would be wise in the professional world to speak proper English in writing and/or make it be known that it is not your first language.

Please take more time to write complete sentences, use proper plural, present and past tense spelling.

Investor #506 here, who has not received IPO payout.

Thanks for understanding. There are too many brilliant scams out there for me not to question things.
