Nice website. I liked the `Definitions` page more. Try adding more definitions to it.

And did you write all the articles?

It's like art:
Some see shit, which can be drawn by a monkey...others think's it's art and worth millions.
 Roll Eyes

For instance this forum: it's the shittiest forum (qua look-and-feel) but has a large community no Bitcoin forum could ever surpass, because of the headstart it had.

Spot on!

The site www.btc.com was bough by GAW miner CEO for 1 million. No idea what he wanted to do with it. Everybody knows him as a big scammer with zencloud and paycoin.
The site is a blockchain viewer at the moment.

He can do a lot of things holding one of the top domains in the bitcoin world. If he bought it for just $1 million, I would say he got lucky.  Cool

To be honest with you, there isn't a website that actually estimates a worth of any websites accurately, some do estimate way below the worth and some does the opposite. For instance I made a website before and payed around $15 then and didn't do anything at all to it and after a week when I check the worth of it , it was staed on some $37 and on some others $22 which both are wrong so it's useless to depend the worth of any website on any online website worth calculator

A similar thread regarding the worth of this website while back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1129578.20

I agree that it takes more than a formula to estimate a website's worth. I personally would consider criteria like code maintainability, technology stack used, UI/UX apart from the obvious ones like the idea, domain value and traffic.

I believe bitcointalk.org to be worth millions of dollars considering the fact that it is the key player in the crypto currency world while still believing that crypto currency is the Harry Potter of the money world.

What are some high valued bitcoin related websites?

There are a lot of new websites related to gambling and pornography in the Bitcoin world. But most of them are junk (IMO) having less quality in-terms of usability and user interface.

I am sure that I read somewhere that theymos (the forum admin) was ready to pay thousands of BTC for the new forum software which is under development. Does anyone know anything more about it?

I personally value bitcointalk.org to be around BTC10,000. Do you guys have any idea about how much bitcoin related websites are valued out there? Feel free to add your two cents. Smiley

Re: Any Bitcoin users from Tamilnadu?
by

on 20/08/2015, 06:46:34 UTC
It is funny that we want to divide ourselves based on states even when it comes to bitcoin, seems ironic that bitcoin was created for all! As it is people in India are so divided and disassociated from each other based on states, north-south etc.,. Bitcoin should be a uniting factor and not a dividing factor. Just saying!  Smiley

He does not wanted to dived ourselves based on states and langues or something else. Instead, he just wanted to know tamil speaking bitcoin users. And also this forum too contains some boards which is based on countries, so this forum too dived peoples by means of countries?
Just saying! Smiley

~Rude Boy  Kiss
I am sorry if you took this in the wrong way, but in India there is so much of a divide in every state. If it is a different country, this divide is understandable but how can this divide be allowed in a country like ours? Sure, there are different cultures and all of that, but this does not mean we start looking for only our state mates around here. Do you think me, being in Bangalore cannot answer your questions about bitcoin? Do i need to know tamil to answer it? What's next? High caste - low caste bitcoins? Cheesy

It's not about caste or states. I was just curious to know how many people in Tamilnadu are aware of/using Bitcoins. I can't run around the state looking for Bitcoin users, can I?

And I can trade with confidence if the other person is from the same state as I am, since trading BTC is something that's got to be taken seriously. Don't get me wrong; I'm open to trading with anyone (not that I have a lot of BTC right now Smiley ) who I am comfortable with, but this gives me a good start.

That's cool. I wonder what hyip program pays in Bitcoins.

Re: Unconfirmed transaction for more then 3days
by
kevinpaladin
on 12/07/2015, 16:32:24 UTC
Was this Localbitcoins that issued the transaction? If so then you should contact them and ask them to reissue a transaction to the address of your choice then try to double spend one of the inputs from this transaction. They should bear the risk that the transaction sent to you gets confirmed because they should know better then to include such a small fee with processing a withdrawal.

If the transaction is from someone who got their bitcoin from Localbitcoins then you should contact them to let them know they should include higher fees when they send transactions in the future.

As far as getting the transaction confirmed, there is not a lot you can do about it.

Is there any possibility of losing coins that got caught up in the unconfirmed transactions?

Great idea! Watching on this.
The feeds is have a source?

BTW the site is secure to visit? Because i scanned and this the result:
https://www.virustotal.com/id/url/f19f50113b40e34b031847d9d11ce72aa5449530c5b17452e8d825ee558a1d5e/analysis/1436458768/

The site it perfectly secure. Right now, all it does is to return JSON data. Not sure why AutoShun shows it wrongly. :/

And regarding feeds, right now I manually enter the feeds. But I am planning to accept feeds from users too, and approve those user entered feeds before showing them to the users.

Hmm.. It's strange Undecided , I checked link you've already edited, you used https right. And i scanned again, the result is: https://www.virustotal.com/id/url/6831881e525e3e650d01ff36eb0bbe90446423f190b2acb2f3d8e4c6668bcfc4/analysis/1436517791/

Okay! I think I know the reason. This site is hosted on www.Heroku.com which is a PaaS provider. I am using its free plan to host the API. So, my app is hosted in herokuapp.com (https://minee.herokuapp.com). Since it belongs to the domain `herokuapp.com` and since a lot of people use it, I think the root domain `herokuapp.com` itself is shown as a Malicious site. The problem will be solved once I get cash to move the app to its own domain.

Thanks a lot for the info Smiley

And thanks noel57 and coinableS. Will keep posted in this thread.

Hmmm bitdefender blocked my browser from loading this website... Looks like that page either currently has, previously had or was flagged as containing malware :/

Not sure why that happened for you. That heroku app was created less than 12 hours ago. I've changed the url to `https`. Please try now.

Re: How many coins would a digi. currency need when it is used worldwide by eveyone?

Well the smallest fraction of a Bitcoin is 0.00000001 BTC which is referred to as 1 satoshi. If you don't want to use decimals, you can always use satoshi for small amounts. I personally tend to think in satoshi for amounts less than 0.001 BTC, so for example I'll refer to 0.00042000 BTC as 42k sat. This is obviously not ideal but for now it's fine for me. I'm sure the devs will think of something as Bticoin adoption rate goes up around the world. Also, the decimals are only scary/confusing in the beginning, you'll get used to it soon enough  Wink

Well, satoshi is right now the smallest unit of BTC. However, the OP says that in the future, it may even get smaller than a satoshi and I agree with him in that.

The webmasters will have to register on the site first to get an API token. If they misuse the content, the token will be revoked. And all requests are being tracked. But right now, those features are under development. If you think of any copyright issues in this model, please let me know so that I can look into it.
Alright your explanations are clearer to me now. since the token will be supplied by the website there will not be one token for 2 websites.

Yeah, that's how it works. I think that's the best solution to track each site.
Absolutely, please send me PM when you are done with the programming though I will check this beta version later.

Sure! I'll let you know once the site is ready to use.

Hello,

I am a Bitcoin enthusiast from the city of Coimbatore, although my native is Tirunelveli. I've known about bitcoins for 3 years, still haven't had the chance of getting some decent amount of coins. I would like to hear from fellow Tamil Bitcoin users. Smiley

Tamizhandaa!!

Depends on your definition of decent. Wink
You may find more tamil people here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=528990.0

Looks like there are quite a few Tamil people here. I think I would call decent as holding more than at least 0.5 -1 Bitcoin Smiley

Hacker Attacks Gambling Websites, Demands Bitcoin Ransom

http://gadgets.ndtv.com/internet/news/hacker-attacks-gambling-websites-demands-bitcoin-ransom-712737

A hacker shut down four New Jersey Internet gambling sites for half an hour last week and threatened more cyber-attacks over the holiday weekend unless a ransom was paid using the online currency Bitcoin, authorities said Tuesday.

David Rebuck, director of the New Jersey Gaming Enforcement Division, said Thursday's attack was a so-called distributed denial of service attack, in which websites were flooded with information and requests for access that rendered them inoperative.

Someday, a ransom demanded in BTC will not stand out or make it to the headlines. I hope bitcoin adoption increases to that level.

I hope so too. It looks like it's a perfect currency for hackers to get away with.

NewEgg is a pretty reputable computer store and they've been around for a long time. They only ship within the US though.

Agreed. It's well reputed. I am sure you can pay them in BTC.
