When to sell bitcoin before next bear market starts?
by
kiddex
on 08/02/2023, 23:57:16 UTC
Ok so this is a little down the road from here but assuming after the next halving and bitcoin goes into another bull run, when would be a good time to sell?i have already went through a couple of bull runs and bear markets but i didnt sell and take profits. I would like to sell before the next bear market to take profits this time.

So if bitcoin's cycles remain true, when roughly would be the start of the next bear market after the 2024 halving and bull run for a good time to sell. Can this be predicted somewhat? For all you TA guys when would be a good time to sell just to give me an idea? Thanks.

Yeah i think after looking and reading these posts the best thing is to keep it on my ledger. You cant push luck so many times before you get burned. There is really nothing out there anyway that is appealing so ill just hold for now.

I believe lending is your only option to get profit out of your idle Bitcoin. This way you can choose who to lend and you can safely do this by allowing only high trust score borrower to borrow your money and charge interest for a certain period of time. Forum lending section and some DeFi offer this kind of service but I highly suggest the forum lending section since many reputable that regularly availing loan for a minimum of 10% interest rate per month. Just be vigilant on who you will lend.

Yes this sounds interesting i would like to learn more. I guess i ll go over to the lending section to take a peak. You mentioned also some defi offer this kind of service, can you think of any off the top of you head? Iam not saying ill jump all in right away but i am curious about it.

What is the best way to earn with your idle bitcoin (if there is a way anymore?)

Ok so i am always looking for ways to earn on idle bitcoin, i was lucky enough to pull out of celsius a month before disaster and they closed shop. I know that i will never trust a cefi platform again for earning on my bitcoin. I could go the the other route which is defi. But with defi i am not interested in converting my bitcoin into something like wrapped bitcoin.

So if i am not interested in cefi or really much of the defi way what else is out there? I am not really an expert on crypto but i ve been around it since 2017 but like i said i am always looking for ways to earn with the bitcoin i have. If there isnt really anything out that is relatively safe i am happy to continue hodling it on my ledger. But if any of you guys are aware of something new that i havnt heard of please feel free to let me know thanks.

Canadian Bitcoin taxes
by

on 08/11/2022, 20:56:23 UTC
Iam wondering if I will have to pay tax for some Bitcoin transactions I made. On a platform somewhere I converted a pretty big sum of Bitcoin to USDC. Does this mean I will have to pay taxes now? What will happen if I don’t report this? Thanks in advance.

Question on leverage
by
kiddex
on 15/08/2022, 21:09:15 UTC
So i am dabbling into trading again and i have a question about leverage. i was wondering if you start out with 100 dollars starting balance and you use 10 leverage and you manage to blow your account, are you liable to pay the full 1000 dollars that leverage gave you? Or you do just lose your initial starting balance?. I am not sure how this works please clear this up for me thanks.

Bitcoin Defi
by

on 15/08/2022, 05:07:55 UTC
I am trying to figure out how this works forgive me if i am naive to this subject but i am learning anyhow. So yeah with the cefi disasters going on in crypto lately i am looking to towards defi to earn on my bitcoin. But you say bitcoin and defi aren't compatible? Well i found two places that offer just that. A place called Sovryn and a place called Alex. I am familiar with how cefi interest earning works but i am not familiar with defi. So if i place my bitcoin one of these platforms why do they ask me to convert it to wrapped btc  to earn interest or whatever token they offer? How will i earn on bitcoin if it goes up and its converted to wrapped bitcoin? I want to keep my bitcoin bitcoin. i am confused by how this works. My main question probably is why do i have to convert my bitcoin to something else if i just want to earn on my original bitcoin? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of earning on bitcoin?

Looking for .29 bitcoin loan long term offer Collateral provided
by

on 01/03/2022, 09:12:49 UTC
Hi i am looking for .29 bitcoin loan. I am not sure how to go about this here in this forum such as the details of a loan like this, its my first time doing this here, i have taken out loans before with platforms like celsius. My main question is if bitcoin goes below a certain price will my loan be liquidated like with celsius or is it different here? Anyhow i have collateral for this loan, i have .71 bitcoin as collateral. How do i go about proving this sorry i am new to this.
thanks

After reading some of these i ve decided to remove all my coins from Celsius back on to my ledger, i ve realized it just doesnt seem worth the risk for so little rewards. On top of that the fact that Celsius just slashed their bitcoin rate from 6 to 3.5 doesnt help that much either. After reading elsewhere i dont they sustain those types of rates in the long run either just my opinion. Better safe than sorry i guess. ive already had a sim card attack on my phone i am not going to risk it anymore.

Re: Earning interest on bitcoin without giving up your keys
by

One will give you interest on your money only if - in a way or another - he can earn something from that. Since Bitcoin doesn't allow staking, I don't see any ways one can earn from those bitcoins without having access to your funds - usually with you sending the money to the custodial platform. At that point you own ... an account. No "for your eyes only" private keys.

So no, this cannot work on Bitcoin.

And.. from what @nullama has posted, the amount of money can decrease. This means:
1. They do have full access to the funds.
2.
Code:
OP needs to improve his understanding over how Bitcoin works, else he may - sooner or later - get scammed by this kind of "wonderful" offers.

Haha i hear you man i am always learning. This project intrigued me but its seems to good to be true and not possible.

From my experience when i bought a goldshell miner and then sold it a few month later, i think i won the deal compared to the guy i sold it too. i made a pretty good profit while the return for sia coin with the hs5 miner i sold is going down. I am not sure he will be able to make his money back with the miner. So yeah in my case id rather just buy bitcoin than mine it but each to their own.

Wouldnt it be great for the holdlers if you could earn interest on your bitcoin and not give up your keys? So ive heard of this new thing from some other guy
called Atomic finance that just does exactly that. Sounds interesting.  The way crypto is always evolving i bet its just a matter of time before we can safetly earn interest on bitcoin but i am no expert on this. Does anyone hear know of any upcoming projects like atomic finance that are doing exactly that?
