Any plans for doing other things in the bitcoin scene?

I have no idea, we'll see what the future brings.  I'm currently working on a few projects, but they are not bitcoin related.  I will stay busy, but I've seen how bitcoin works - my main motivator is usually to get myself thoroughly familiar with a new technology.   But if something interesting shows up, I might do it.

I will remain active on irc tough Smiley

I too would like to see some of their features elsewhere, or someone buy the software if they sell it.

I don't know if selling anything would be a good thing.  In the end, the software isn't documented, and basically needs a programmer to make it work - it's not packaged in any way.  I've combined python, go, php, java and C++ to make the pool work, so you'd need one fluently in all those languages too.  So it's not just an easy program to run...

blockchain info  triplemining make block  301229

301229 (Cadena Principal) 2014-05-17 13:45:56 TripleMining  00000000000000002c195d584a472539d9f410a7c019baae7516d2be71f34cf1

but triplemining continuous mining

MINING - - 307 hours   6 487 610 509

The hot-wallet which is responsible for doing the block detection was having connectivity issues.  This has been resolved, and the site now reports the correct block.

Our entire system is built upon the core idea that we must be able to replay all shares etc at any given time, so even with this downtime, it does not affect the payouts or anything else, you will still receive the correct amount.

Sorry for the inconvenience...

Re: How can 0% fee pools make money?
by

You're quite right, pools cost a lot of effort and money to be kept online.  So it is indeed a good question, how do they survive.

Let's take a few pools:
- p2pool: this is open source software.  The software is free, but you need to run it yourself.  So not "free", you'll have to host it yourself.  Also, it has a 1% donation to the author "fee", altough it can be disabled, which has to be done explicitly.
- ghash.io.  Owned by cex.io, they use it as a marketing method, they make a lot of money renting hash power.  Hard competition for honest pools...
- eligius: they are driven by donations.

So yes, free pools are to be questioned.  But in general the big pools do it for the money (direct or indirect), the smaller pools do it to support bitcoin (and from donations...)

And yes, you must trust your pool.  Pools can abuse their position very easily.   There have been several cases (bitclockers, bitcoinpool) that are known for cheating on their users, so some have been caught.

Ah, nice to know.  I'll update blockorigin to point to that site (I haven't been able to pinpoint that pool, but then again, I haven't had much time to work on blockorigin lately)

Please, don't take me as a nagger but, yet another block reward went in the balance and still no automatic payout? It would be really nice to have some info on what's going on.... Thx

You're not a nagger, payouts must happen Smiley  Sometimes things do go wrong, please send an email to info@triplemining.com (the only official support address) and make sure to include your username, we'll investigate and make sure everything is paid.

On which network are you trying to mine?

eloipool only supports sha256, basically only bitcoin is supported.

Your miner is configured to use scrypt, which is used by litecoin and various other crypotcoins.  eloi does NOT support scrypt...

Perhaps you want to correctly configure your miner?

Bitcoin mining requires sha256 so you're not having any choice here.
And yes, with that hardware you're not going to solve many shares...

Using blockchain's graph would be a bad idea because it's so inaccurate on a regular basis.  http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/ would be able to provide a more reliable hashrate over time graph, though I don't know if they keep historical data beyond 2016 blocks.

I do keep the historical data.  I just need to program a nice way to visualize it Smiley

Azrael_PT, nice catch Wink

The backend server hasn't seen that block yet.  It is rebuilding it's database.  As soon as it sees the block, it will be handled (our backend is capable of correctly paying blocks that were actually found weeks ago)

My apologies for not being more active on the forums lately.  We've been under several attacks: we've had a huge attack trying to bruteforce logins, and several ddos attacks to the mining server.  At this moment, we've placed several defences against the bruteforce attacks.

Should you have any issues with payouts, please send an email to info@triplemining.com.  If you didn't receive an answer yet, please send your mail again.  I've answered all mails uptill now, so if you didn't receive an answer your mail probably was lost somewhere.

In any case, at this moment all issues have been resolved.

Thanks for mining!

Hi all, I'm back from holiday.

Our apologies for the lack of service of our website the last few days. Due to a miscommunication, there was an unresolved problem causing people not being able to login for quite some time. We realize that we didn't solve the problem in time and will do our best to prevent these type of malfunctions in the future.

You have to divide the number of shares by the difficulty to see if a round is long or not.  The difficulty is currently 65M, so we're still below 2D, so this is not a long round.   You will have to get used to this high number of shares - this is normal due to the high difficulty.

Look at the graph at http://bitcoin.sipa.be/speed-lin-ever.png
This graph shows the difficulty, the higher the difficulty, the longer the rounds will last.  This is true for all pools.

Updated. Please let me know about any errors or changes I've missed.

Can you share how long this privilege will last?

This thread is probably not the place for pool specific questions to be answered. Try in Triplemining's thread.

[edited] Seem that gmaxwell has split this thread into 2, and left the pinned status on the new one.  Please redirect all questions into the triplemining thread, I'll be glad to answer everything there.  Please unsticky/delete the new thread.

Block info    Block status    Amount    Found    Duration    Shares    Confirmed
-    MINING    -    -    136 hours    46 426 008    -
#251886    GENERATED    25.20500000 BTC    August 13, 2013    312 hours    110 230 535    YES

That's still below the difficulty.  So this is by definition not a long round

Hi all,
I read in the list that Triplemining pool doesn't pay transaction fees. Is it correct?
I'm wondering because in the pool's site I haven't found a word about it and the Stats page lists blocks' BTC amounts including transaction fees, making me think that they are actually distributed to the miners.

This is correct for the time being
