Here's a stupid question, why not just ASK the creator of Nyan if you can do this?
Premining a coin for "legal fees" in case you get sued because you couldn't spend 10 seconds doing a google search is just not logical.
I googled for nyan cat, found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyan_Cat it says the owner is Christopher Torres, and his website is http://www.prguitarman.com/ and one more click led me to his email address on this page http://www.prguitarman.com/contact.php. He may have just said yes. Wy not ask instead of using it as a weak justification to premine. Actually, nevermind, I think I know the answer.

Obviously Torres would not approve. Nobody would sue the creators of alt-cryptocurrencies though~ esp. not of some random litecoinsrc-search-and-replace-coin...

okay, apparently my account has been deleted? I can't login any longer ("Unable to login: Invalid username or password") and my cgminer shares get rejected ("Worker not authorized"). Devianttwo? What?

I think he's referring to Alpha Technology's recent announcement regarding their alleged litecoin ASIC. With a sufficient front end you'll be able to mine any scrypt-based coin with this thing. I doesn't matter whether it's a new coin or like litecoin in use for years.

quick question guys: i just transferred some ltc to cryptsy, however even after > 10 confirmations in my wallet it doesn't show up at cryptsy. when i search for the deposit address (which cryptsy SHOULD have generated) at http://block-explorer.com/ it says NOT FOUND. Umm, this is normal, right? Right...?

Have you read the specs on first page. Whats the volume of this against others? What does that mean?
so, what makes this coin superior to all other alts again? the announcement text fails to deliver...
I just was asking for an explanation, because i don't want to read the last 30+ pages of this thread. Also it should be clear from my original post that I in fact read the first page (highlighted relevant parts for clarification). Decreasing/Increasing the volume of a coin alone doesn't change shit. And I'm not even trying to bash this coin; just sayin...
