We were bound for a correction. Rapid price increase due to speculation is unsustainable.

Panic not, Bitcoin will survive this bubble. And the next.

if anything, i think bitcoin will be destroyed by fear mongers or unrealistic bulls. please fall somewhere in between those two extremes.

If anything, Bitcoin has proven its resiliency through speculative bubbles and crashes. The real threat is if there is a vulnerability or flaw in the protocol or from government crackdown.

Re: How much will bitcoin be worth in 5-10 years?

It depends on how much we work towards bitcoin adoption by creating businesses using bitcoin as payment, just inundate the world with bitcoin businesses with the option to use fiat as well as bitcoin.

For sure. BTC value has a value right now inflated from speculation, but if usage continues to grow, and its usage as an actual legitimate currency and payment method increases, then I see 1 bitcoin being worth 10k. But if adoption fails to grow in a big way, I think we'll see it go to zero in a decade or so.

Seriously. It'd be a total win/win. I'm sure the goals of Wikipedia matches up with the ideology of a lot of bitcoiners. They would get a lot of bitcoin donations for sure.  And then bitcoin gets another high profile organization that accepts it as currency.

Miners have to sell BTC to pay for the electricity costs.

That's your limiting factor right there.

Higher the price, more electricity the whole network uses. Bitcoin price can not go very high.

That is true, but ASIC technology will only get better. Moore's law is still in effect. Mining will just become larger scale and more efficient.

I'm glad I cashed out my (admittedly small) investment when I did.

I actually really liked using this site because it was so simple to use. I did always receive my payments, but they were always a bit slow. But the slowness doesn't really inspire a lot of confidence. I hope he can better automate his payments because I think he's losing out on a lot of business.

Multi-GPU Mining: Core i5 Integrated GPU and Discrete AMD?
by

Is it possible to mine Bitcoins on a discrete gpu and run the regular operating system on Intel integrated HD 2000 graphics (built into CPU) so the system isn't slow?

I want to use my HTPC to mine bitcoins and it currently doesn't have a discrete GPU in it, it only uses the integrated graphics.
