Re: [CENT] Pennies relaunched

so, with a fresh wallet, i have once again tried the import, this time  left it to run over night without any chance of interference and theres still no change.

there is no confirmation that the import was successfully its just sitting there (I expected to see a new blank line returned in the command window when the import had finished but i have received nothing after 9 hours and 15 minutes.

At what point do i give up on this attempt and try something else.

Why the hell Swisscex didnt just fucking let us take our own coins out without all this shit i dont know, seems like they just want to get people to pay to received their coins.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Do i need to rescan?Repair?remove Wallet and start again? Go to Switzland and punch a couple of computer geeks?

Please help. Swisscex locked their system down the day i was going to withdraw my coins to use in a online game, the game is now delayed by months and will be going online, but the main reason behind the game (distributing CENT/Knowledge about the coin) simply isnt going to happen. Instead im using Doge coin and Ripple. So its just another kick in the teeth for CENT by a minority that are complete asshats.

Once again please advise.

My wallet version is 10.3.5

All the best

A tierd and frustrated me

[UPDATE @ 12:27:26]
I closed the wallet and restarted with a rescan=1 in the .conf file (removed the addnode lines, so it just had the rescan), it is currently rescanning. will update again when its complete.

[UPDATE @ 22:00:00]
The wallet has just opened after the rescan and the coins are now present and correct. all 31billion are in my possession once again.

I have the same issue with the coins not arriving when importing the key.

my key contains no spaces, is 52 characters long, the wallet is fully synced and the wallet isnt encrypted (its a fresh install, will encrypt when the coins are back)

How long is the import supposed to take? I left it for 3 hours but nothing has happened. I restarted the wallet and the new payment address was there but no coins?

anyone know what might be happening? (did i need to leave it longer than 3 hours?)

Any advice would be greatly received.

How you are able to send coins via mailbox? Can you send Dogecoin also? Can you explain how or there is some tutorial?
Ivan.

he means they will send the private key, its then up to you to get the right wallet up to date and then import the private key.

The method they describe is great when they actually provide the private key. They provided the key for my Doge coins but i am still waiting for the key for me CENT.

Currently Swisscex are holding 31,090,643,684 CENT which belong to me, they weren't tied up in any trade listings they were simply sat in my wallet on their site.

The only response i have had from Swisscex is them telling me it takes time to go through 400,000 listed trade entries for CENT. I was told this over a month ago now - Even I could come up with the required database statement to cancel all those trades and consolidate the info in a new table. why it takes a team of people so long to do it i have no idea.

I sincerely hope they do manage to get the private keys out to us, but so far it isn't looking good with the lack of feedback, lack of contact from them and the inability to gain access to their site anymore could suggest a whole host of different possibilities.

As always i sit here waiting and hoping to recover my coins that they had been trusted with.

the trust is slowly starting to give way to frustration and annoyance at their lack of forthcoming.

Hope everyone gets a happy ending.

All the best

thanks for the nodes, i now appear to be getting connections (had 3 at one point :-) ) but they seem to continually vanish and reconnect, never managing to download any blocks :-(  im still getting "socket select error 10038" showing up in the debug file all the time.

I added the nodes from  ciklop1974's post but only ever seemed to get 1 connection. heres my getpeerinfo

once again i left it all night and it didnt update a single block.

I checked the debug file and i seem to be getting "socket select error 10038" showing up multiple times every second. So i assume this is the cause of my issue, the only problem is i havent a clue how to resolve it.

if anyone has seen this behavior before please let me know. I spent a long time trying to aquire the coins and it will be a kick in the teeth to lose them because of a unexplained error.

thanks again for any help offered :-)

Hi Folks,

I seem to be missing something, I downloaded the latest version of the wallet 1.3.5 and left it to sync over night, but it didn't find a single connection and just sat there doing not a lot.

Any advice on how to get a fresh wallet set up? (all my coins were on swisscex, but now its closing i want to get the wallet ready to receive them again.)

once i have the coins sorted i'll be 1 step closer to having my game ready which will give away coins :-) (31billion CENT and 700,000 Dogecoins are the first coins that will be being given away in the game)

any advice on sorting the wallet would be awesome.

thanks

Personally i don't see the huge sum of coins as a major problem.

Having such a vast sum makes the coin a viable item for incorporating into an online game (which im attempting to do but the time constraints of being a stay at home dad to a 5 month old makes working a little difficult, so hopefully in a couple more months ill have the time.)

Once we have some services that start accepting Pennies the volume on SwissCex should increase, when the volume increases and then value increases the coin will be attractive to other exchanges to add.

so instead of the continued debate about how to reduce the total amount of coins, could we spend an hour or two with that issue out of our minds and see what other ideas the total amount of coins could be used for.

After all, if the total volume is reduced and we still have nothing to use the coin for, it will still fair badly.

All the best

(p.s when i get the game up there will be a market to buy and sell items in the game for pennies, so hopefully it will give the price a little stability but if it ends up with the price tanking i dont go bankrupt in the process!)

I currently own 91Billion Pennies (give or take a million or 6)

Cracking work Rozu.

I'm currently in the process of making some maps for a game I'm working on which will give people a chance to hunt and kill some monsters to be able to get hold of my 65billion Coins :-)

There will be various things to spend the coins on, I'm also hoping to be able to add additional coins to the game so, soon the under dog coins will have somewhere that will give them a place to be spent and traded.

It would be great to get Pennies relisted on cryptsy - Im planning on making the game 100% free to play, so if its possible to get some referrals out of it and help cover the costs that would be awesome! so if we can help by pestering Cryptsy just point us in the right direction.

Pennies will rise, Its just a matter of time :-)

Keep up the good work buddy, it will all be worth while in the end

Sorry i haven't read the last few pages but thought i should mention  i ran into an issue when transferring coins to Swisscex, I was sending the transactions in sizes of 99,999,999, I initially sent, 5 deposits, 4 credited correctly and 1 got lost somewhere, Support found it and credited it to my account. I then sent another 30 deposits (again 99,999,999 in size) and once again only 4 credited correctly. I contacted support again they found the missing coins and everything is now in my account.

Support said there were still some bugs with the wallet. but as i know nothing about coding these things would it actually be the wallet or something wrong with Swisscex usage of the wallet?  I don't really know >.<

Anyway, a good thing to do is probably leave a minute or a block or 2 between larger deposits to exchanges *warning* this could be pointless but until i see confirmation of what might of caused the coins going missing, im going to try slowing myself down :-) )

Your doing cracking work on the coin, keep it up!   (the website for my game is coming on nicely :-) wont be long before you can all take your frustrations out on some monsters and run off with their coin stashes :-) )

Well this is all a big mess.

I see that some Cent I sent ages ago has now finally shown up on Cryptsy, yet all the withdrawals that I did earlier this month from Cryptsy have not showed up in my wallet yet.

According to the block crawler explorer, none of the transaction IDs exist that are listed on Cryptsy exist, says there is an error.

SO it seems all my coins have now gone.

So annoyed..

Have written to Cryptsy, but to do not expect any help.

Was around 500 million coins though....which is not a lot for some of you but to me that a lot.

Only have about 2 million now...What use is that??

Haha. Nearly 0.02 of  an XPM coin...Great!

Had the same experience...

Well I got a reply. Not sure if this really helps much.

"The wallet came back up but is taken down again for maintenance. Once wallet is up, your withdrawals will be moving to you. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Not sure how that helps as they are not showing on the block chain which everyone else seems to be using now so even if what they say is true..then it will still not show up then lol..They were sent weeks ago lol

Sorry to hear about the loss, I thought i had lost a load of coins, but a RepairWallet in the console recovered 278 transactions and returned over half of my coins (more than i actually realised i had lost!)   so it might be worth while giving it a quick go (it is rather quick)   just open up the console in your pennies wallet and type RepairWallet and then hit enter, it will either return a messase saying "wallet pass true" (or somehting along those lines) this will unfortuantely mean you havent found any, but on the other hand you might get "Wallet pass true, Transactions effected xxx" this will mean it found some coins for you :-)

I hope it gets them back for you (on a side note if you have any other POS coin wallets, try running the repairwallet on them too - i managed for find lost coins in several of the pos coin wallets :-) hope you find some, it cheered me up a bit :-) )

LOL. How is anyone angry at this clearly fake tweet? We've all been annoyed at transaction speed being too slow at cryptsy at times - it doesn't mean that we don't appreciate what it has done for the alt-coin (and bitcoin) trading volumes.

I want Bitcoins and Altcoins to be here in the future, I believe there is a whole new financial market opening here for people to embrace.

With crap like this coming out - it makes the community look bad, which means investors and professionals wont take it seriously at all, it also takes away from the integrity of  announcements made by other developers.

I agree. There's times when I imagine all the posters sitting around at a bar, and then I look up to realize that half of them are still at high school, sipping at sodas and throwing peanuts. There's such a childish sense of passive bullying that goes on- like names being called across the playground. In no other profession would defaming people be tolerated as much as it is in this 'industry'.

If we want Bitcoin and the crypto world to succeed we need to have respect for one another, because from the outside looking in, it can sometimes seem akin to Lord of the Flies.

I'd like to agree with you, but take a stroll over to some of the forex trading forums and you'll see a very similar type of environment. Bitcointalk is actually more refined at times, if you can believe it. People constantly calling their broker a scammer because they got slipped by 2 PIPs gets very tiring...

+1000000

I used to run an online gaming forum and that was a nightmare to try and mediate the fights. It wasnt the kids that caused the problems it was the adults that seemed to think they had the right to say what they liked because they were older! my longest running arguement probably went on for over 18 months, the 2 users involved probably create 30-40 different accounts between them. I know 1 of them changed ISP's at least once (I actually made a complaint to both the ISP of the users because i ended up getting doss attacked for breaking up the argument and one of the users got away with a lesser punishment.)
this was all over a free to play computer game!  (they were both 30+ years of age - and in real life were both great people! I ended up meeting both of them at a gamers gathering! needless to say they didnt stay very long in each others company)

as you have said the Forex boards are remarkable, huge arguments about things the people arguing have no control over!

I also tend to frequent a few coding forums and they are full of programmers arguing about the right way to code various bits and pieces.

So as you have said it happens everywhere!   (just look at any government! countries are run by people that spend their entire careers arguing with each other! its no wonder the general public end up doing it lol )

So with that being said!

And also.. this coin have a reason: hate max kesier and maxcoin.. what's the purpose of maxcoin ? be a scam ?

Some say that hate last more and is more powerful than love , Smiley
You need to watch Krull! there is a really corny scene where the baddie is double crossed by one of his minions for love! and the princess makes it nice and clear Love always beats power!!! :-)  (corny film but good for a damp sunday afternoon :-) )

What i find amazing is the fact that the combined total value of all alt coins has risen over the last few months, even though every few days you see loads of posts citing the demise of alt coins!

I seem to recall seeing that list when the combined total only reached 7billion  but now its sitting at 10.1 Billion.

Things aren't going down, Things are diversifying.

Just a quick message to say i have had multiple requests to have my account password reset arrive at my email address today - Everything still appears to be in order on my account, but just wanted to let people know it looks like people are attempting to break into CoinEx accounts.

the really odd thing was the time stamp on the emails were actually from the 24th of feburary - So im not entirely sure whats happening (my mail server has the correct date on it) So im wondering if someone is trying something weird with their systems and it caused a flurry of mails or it could be something malicious from a 3rd party.

Sooooo!

If suggestions for logos are still being considered may i suggest a picture of IT the clown because thats pretty much how i seen max now - he should only appear in nightmares and good old corny 80s horrors!  (man IT really fresked me out as a kid! still gives me the creeps now)

also round the edge of the logo i'd suggest having "Muhahahahahahahahahaha" as a border :-) sorry my graphic skills are hugely lacking so you'll just have to use your imagination!   (which in essence is what caused me to be so freaked out in the first placE! damn my imagination! )

by

I had an issue with some DOGE that dissapered on Cryptsy, however around 1AM EST today, it seems the people @ Cryptsy did a DOGE coin wallet update or fix. My funds re-appeared and are 'usable'. From what I have been told by very knowledgeable people that have been doing this a long time is, that after many transactions the wallet.dat of ANY coin gets very large & laggy & needs to be 'rebuilt'. Just imagine this on the scale of what Cryptsy does hourly, or even daily, especially in light of the recent DOGE volume. I hope your problems gets resolved soon, as I know it can be frustrating.

They make .5% BTC on every sell/buy... the volume... they can afford to have a staff 24/7

Even better, at least let the public know that your doing something... not just let it be broke, and then inform people  "O BTW we finally fixed it ".

a little while a go (a few weeks) someone posted the volumes of cryptsy top 4 traded coins - of those coins the daily income for cryptsy from the fees were $68,000    - A DAY!

so they can definitely afford lots of staff

Don't worry Misesian. everything is right with your wallet... Only trouble is that cryptsy holds billions of cent from customers stake (and I am one of them) and what is a stake? well it is calculated on the cent that you already owns. and it will follow it's owner if you withdraw your cent from any exchange.. If cryptsy does upgrade to everyone's chain they will loose billions of CENT that would then be returned to their real owner. But their politic is "what is on my account is mine" and the hell with the rest of the comunity. So they do not upgrade their software to match the actual one and by doing that, they interfere in the good and right functioning of the block chain on which we all are..

But i also sent coins from my 10.2.1abe wallet which hasn't shown up on swisscex yet so i think there may be something wrong with my wallet

my current number of blocks on my wallet is 288715 on the explorer it is 294,191

It might not be the same but it sounds like your wallet is doing what mine did, that is its trying to stake coins and it held up the download so i was continually attempting to stake coins before the sync had finished and i somehow managed to get onto my own fork

to get round it I encrypted the wallet - this meant the sync could happen but my wallet wouldn't stake until i decrypted the wallet.

Its annoying in some respects - but i havent been able to think of a suggestion of how to combat the issue.

Did you do a search on the block explorer for your transaction id?   (the explorer i use is http://pennies.kicks-ass.net/block_crawler.php   as it seems to be using the latest wallet - And It was actually the guy that runs it that helped me recover my coins from my own fork, so i have huge faith in him {he also wouldnt except a donation for his help, so I have even more faith in him after that})
