Sorry to seem lazy and not just read through the 186 pages of this thread but is XPM still being mined?

I ask only because about 2 years ago, I was actually an avid miner of XPM.  I sold it all off long ago, and stopped mining when the difficulty simply became too much.

But the scientific aspect of the coin always fascinated me.

Is it still active POW wise?

Also, looking at the block explorer and on C-CEX, it's a good sign to see that there are not a whole lot of coins for sale or even held in the exchange wallets.

Most of the coins have been pulled for staking. It would cost a lot of BTC to even grab a million TKT at this point. My guess as POS matures and the DEV rolls out TKT2.0 which has already been forked on GIT, the coin will move up in price, staking will further increase, and good things will come. Smiley  I think this coin in many ways flew under the radar for quite a while.

TRY THIS GUYS

https://github.com/ticketcoin/ticketcoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L992

Ticketcoin.conf

Code:
lottomining=1

I've hit a couple of those but they do take a while because it is a 1 in 50 chance.

I can't read code but I think I'm right on this one - just tried without that argument and the stakes are way way smaller but more frequent.

**EDIT** GUESS I WAS WRONG.....IDK

Adding lottomining=1 to the conf file gives you a 1/50 chance of finding a a POS block; or rather from what I read in the code; 49 on average are "discarded at random" based on whether the nonce matches the random number generated.

The payout is 100x if you hit it.  Now; one would say:  Well that makes sense: 1/50 chance with 100x payout, no brainer. But... you could get a 100x lucky lotto POS block payout on a small low age POS block (coin age and coin tx amount); meaning your lucky winner could be a low POS reward.  Ive had it, with lottomining=1 on, have POS rewards from 20 TKT to almost 300 depending on coin tx size and age.

Excluding the lottomining=1 in the conf file pays out block by block with no discards; except orphans.

I ran it without for a few days, then with for now. I'll then export just to see how the "days" compare in terms of total POS rewards.

Also; you run the risk of hitting a big POS block, like 300 TKT reward, and it orphans.  So theres a lot of variables in terms of the "luck".

But no doubt a very interesting feature not used by any other coins. So it may be a building block to a future fork on this coin or new coins down the road.

Regardless, price is going up... and holding. So I'm staking for now.

I honestly see moving forward; especially when we halve in 2016, scarcity taking hold.

Truth is, you can save major money by using BTC. From Purse, to Gyft, to a dozen other services. And companies like Coinbase and most other "Buy Bitcoin" exchanges charge a mark up.

In addition, with the FinCEN rulings; there is all sorts of additional paperwork now to buy BTC legitamaley. Even Coinbase, where I've bought countless times, level 3; $50,000 limit, sent me an email: They need copies of my government issued ID now.

So it's getting harder to get. Look at the mark ups on Local Bitcoin. People actually pay $450 for a $260 token.

Crazy.

I'd recommend the best way to grow your bitcoin is to:

- Not visit dice sites.

- Avoid anything that sounds too good to be true.

- Sell BTC on Local Bitcoins.

- Use services like Purse (No joke, it takes some time usually, but I order big orders on Amazon; like $500, then put a 35% discount on it for Purse... usually within a month it gets bought). Then use the cash you saved to buy more BTC.

Well the tech works now basically like it did back when the first few 100 blocks were mined. Not much has changed protocol wise.

Altcoins have certainly expanded the protocol into all sorts of uses; but the Bitcoin protocol has remained static.

C-CEX wallet is now synced and has reopened for transfers Smiley

Was wondering what that jump was. Primary node connections quadrupled in a matter of just a few minutes.

Lots of blockchain activity and mining going on with Lotto POS.

Nice!

Offering to buy any and all TKT Coins that are not in C-CEX at the moment. I'd prefer to buy intact wallets (with coins aged).

Current offer is 0.00000022 (perhaps higher depending on how many you have/coin age).

Until C-CEX updates wallet to new nodes to allow withdraw; only buying coins in wallets on peoples systems.

PM me!

One thing is for sure. Bitcoin is being clamped down on. In a major way. Coinbase just recently now requires under the FinCEN deal that you provide government issued ID; in addition to all the previous "requirements" which require a "wait" period now while they "background check" the ID provided.

Simply put without a doubt Bitcoin is going to become a lot more regulated... which may in fact drive up the price. People who hold bitcoins, knowing that in order to--- in the future buy more bitcoins--- will only be able to do so "on the books".... create a bit of a "hoarding" scenario.

My support ticket to CCEX is now 4 days old, asking exactly the same.
I even gave them the BCT page so they could copy the add node themselves.
They have done nothing, not even acknowledged my ticket.
Bunch of hopeless tossers........

Same here with two support tickets so I opened up a third one and that did get their attention "Apologies - we will fix that soon. "

I think they are pulling your chain.
It is now 6 DAYS since I opened my first ticket, 3 DAYS since I opened my second ticket.
I have been complaining daily in the C-CEX trollbox since Monday, but they are just ignoring everything!
I think it is because they are staking that huge wallet of their like a BOSS - making coins for themselves that belong to us?
I can't think of any other reason as to why it would take nearly a week to add a node to the wallet?

I think the dev has gone too -  Last Active:  May 11, 2015, 06:43:40 AM  Sad

I agree the fact that C-CEX hasn't updated to the new Node doesnt make sense. However; they very well may have already updated; and just not opened up the wallet (still says maintenance).

The coin is being taken over development wise by a group I work with. There are already new nodes launched, and a new GIT has been forked called Ticketcoin2.

However the new DEV team is holding off on further work until C-CEX updates, or "opens" the wallet; because a LOT of coins are trapped inside C-CEX and those coinholders are unfortunately not able to withdraw or stake at this time.

The new node shows multiple active connections across a number of different IPs-- so people are staking.

Considering so many coins are help up in C-CEX we will wait a bit longer to see what happens. If they do not add the node (which is very simple and they have been provided the new node information there may be Hard Fork options we could look into with coin swaps, where users who's coins are trapped could perhaps prove ownership of coins and we issue a credit with new coins off the new Fork, and the original fork is abandoned altogether.

That's more trouble than I think we'd like to go through. So hopefully C-CEX will just update the Ticketcoin.conf file to include the node.

Note to those updating to the new NODE:

You will need to resync you Blockchain Data. When doing so the sync will hang on block 10,080: This is where POW switched to POW.

Just let it sit... after a short while it will start back up and finish with the POS blockchain sync and be fully synced and you can start staking.

If you hold coins, perhaps sending a support ticket asking C-CEX to kindly update their wallet would be helpful.

Also; with the re-launch take-over it would be great to see this coin offered on Bittrex.

This is the only coin that offers lotto style POS rewards; which are really crazy and fun depending on coin age, difficulty, etc.

Please try to get the word out, the coin is already up from 0.00000001 to 0.00000017 and holding... and I think without a doubt once the exchanges are on the new node and work begins again on marketing, adding nodes, expanding features, including some cool wallet features the head DEV wants to implement, the coin will move up much higher.

Thanks everyone!

Bittrex now listing it? If so thats great. I think this coin got overlooked as it was released during the Singular/Positron/Neutron craze. Has a cool feature no other coins use. Hope to see it get on Trex.

Updated to the new node listed. Wallet seems to be working fine and coins are staking, but the C-CEX wallet says maintenance.

Anyone know if they will be updated the wallet node IP?

When is the relaunch/new ANN happening?

Anyways nice to see everything is working less C-CEX.  Coin has an interesting concept and Staking rewards are coming in!

Cheers!

Strato

Ive submitted a support request to CCEX. All they have to do is update the node IP.

Im currently looking to buy TKT Coins particularly if anyone want's to sell the entire Wallet.dat to retain the coin age.

Offering 0.00000015 and up for coins; depending on quantity and especially coin age for staking I'd go as high as 0.00000025 (PM offers what you have/age coins etc). thank you!

I raised a support ticket with C-CEX more than 2 days ago, giving them the BCT link with the new add node.
So far, nothing. No reply to my ticket.
Terrible service really.

Agree. I did the same; not sure why they havent just updated the add node.

Regardless I'm still interested in buying coins. Depending on the wallet size; I'd go up to 0.00000020 if it's a large wallet. PM if there is interest.

Hopefully C-CEX will get the wallet updated on their end. As the network has been up and running fine, including the block explorer, for days now.

I'm interested in buying TKT Coins. I'll offer 0.00000015 each; as many as you have. PM Me.

Coins in C-Cex are locked until they update their wallets; so please only PM me if you have wallet coins. (Prefer to buy the Wallet.dat) so I dont lose coin age.

Thanks!

Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC

I am curious as to what the thoughts are on what the fallout will be like once the governments of respective countries begin to take real notice/interest in these sites. It's only until very recently the any form of spotlight has been shed on the fact the Bitcoin is becoming a prime currency for online gambling; and also is a huge way to hide earnings and skim from the house. How easy would it be to simply tweak server settings on any site and "allow" a player to win "huge" amounts and simply claim it as a loss. While "untraceable" as it can be made out; I wouldnt underestimate a tax agency of a government's ability to make the target of such accusations life very difficult.

I know people mentioned that many sites were beginning to restrict usage of their services within jurisdictions where laws are violated (one such example is PD no longer accepting deposits from US IP addresses). However it's no secret a $20 per year VPN connection completely circumvents any such restriction.

The fact that most of these sites require no age verification whatsoever other than checking a box; which was, up until only recently implemented; likely leads me to believe that dice sites in general are havens for teenagers and literally kids gambling off faucet payouts. (They've got nothing better to do).

As the owner of Seals with Clubs is now facing charges; I suspect more investigations will follow suit. These will be driven by the agencies of government to collect illegal earnings/revenue/taxes on undeclared income (no accusations at all here for PD; just generally speaking what their motives will be).

The IRS for instance is simply a business and will look at it as matter of fact: Was the business operating on US soil (did it have relays/servers/cloud flare connections); if yes; there will be a case made that the business is thus subject to the laws of gaming as well as the tax laws of the USA.

As the IRS acts as a business (which most people don't realize); they look at all cases as risk/reward. If they can seize large amounts of money; and make a strong case; they will simply assemble the team to do what is necessary.

The major corporations and banking institutions which finance and back the casinos and gambling venues within the USA will soon I imagine be deploying serious offerings into this arena; either here or offshore. Any existing Dice Site IMO won't stand a chance in terms of competing against these enterprises who guarantee provably fair with real people/real faces/board of directors/stock holders/and a business address. It's only a matter of time. They also have the financing to literally pour funding into these launches that would simply not be possible by even the all the dice sites combined.

It's just a matter of time until they pull the trigger. They are watching the numbers. Waiting for the right entry point. As soon as the metrics add up; not only will they launch a big time endeavor; they will at the very same time lobby every government with an endless budget to make it a legitimate only industry.

At one point I thought owning a Dice Site would be a great money maker. I'm sure there are a few out there, including PD's investors who have made profits which would shock us all. But I also imagine they sleep with one eye open at all times. Because eventually, someone is going to come knocking for their cut. I mean just look at Kim DotCom... the guy is in lockdown, perpetually, just waiting for more bad news every day. I'm sure it takes it's toll.

Just my two cents on the subject. It will be interesting to see how the SWC case in Nevada plays out.

Interesting take on the whole matter. I feel as if Stunna has obviously thought all this stuff through since he's obviously taking professional legal advice. It'd be interesting what sort of approach the US would take in order to take a website like Primedice down.. But then again why would they start at Primedice when they are actually take some what proactive measures to mitigate US customers? There's other websites that are blatantly accepting them so they should definitely be the ones that will be looked into first.

When those sort of websites begin getting torn apart that's probably when Primedice and other more legal websites will start having to either close shop before the game changes too much, or change the way they are compliant. Obviously IP blocking at this stage isn't good enough but I'm sure they can bring in some KYC stuff in the future. Whether or not that is feasible however is a different question.

It's been a fun ride watching the BTC gambling scene change over the last 3 years and I'm sure it's only going to get more & more interesting as it becomes more relevant.

I wasnt for any specific reason bringing these topics up in the PD forum other than for the reason that PD is an emeninant player within this niche industry; if not the leader. And as such, in any business or industry, the bigger you get, the more you are scrutinized, audited, watched, and in many senses, you become a target. '

In regards to PD turning off it's services to the US; which relates to your comment on how they are taking active measures to mitigate any violations of local, state or federal laws of any country where the player resides; while I am not a lawyer I do know that changing your ways does not erase past infringements; nor would it release an entity from being held responsible for any taxes, etc which may be due.

I have no clue on how PD is set up infrastructure wise. I'm speaking in regards to all the big dice sites as a whole. Do they hire moderators for their chat rooms. Are they compensated. Even with BTC. In the US, that makes the person an agent of the company; thus the business then has to comply with the laws within that jurisdiction.

The only loophole I believe would be to hope that the statue of limitations passes; which varies by country. But it's years usually.

It will be interesting. Seals with Clubs will set the stage.

The only big problem I forsee, is that up until recently online gambling has really only exisited in small form; difficult to deposit into; credit cards wont approve, etc. Now with BTC; its big money; tax free (in the players eyes).

I dont think there is a country on earth that doesnt have VERY strict gaming laws and regulations. You must operate with a license. Even in countries like Mexico. Very very strict.

Why? The governments want their cut. If they don't get it. And they view you as deep pockets. They will do whatever they can to collect.

Perhaps the Dev could chime on on what a Difficulty of 8 would do. I would need to review the white paper in detail to know for sure.

If the POW is based on finding prime chains, moving from a 7 chain to a 8 chain is roughly 12 times more difficult. So if you were finding 12 coins a day, as soon as 8 is reached you will on average find 1/12 of that which is 1.

Same thing from 6 to 7 or 8 to 9.

With Primecoin 8-9 in many ways killed mining. It was simply impossible at a difficulty of 9+ to mine and fine primes with that chain length.

Dev thoughts?

Dev is back on keyboard and online and will start back to work on this.

Was, like many of you, excited about this one then it just stopped.

From what I was told his reasons seemed understandable/unfortunate, he had matters (life) that took priority over this project, and didn't want to not commit 100% of what he was capable of.

I was told ANN thread is coming (As opposed to just this Pre-Ann/Name Reservation)

So I suppose we stay tuned.

Re: Could Satoshi Nakamoto be the CIA/NSA?
by

What if bitcoin miners are being used to generate rainbow tables for cracking password hashes. It is a known fact that with a rainbow table you can crack a password hash in seconds rather than years, and in big-O notation brute-forcing passwords takes O(n2) time which would also take years for a 14+ character password.

Now to generate a rainbow table with character set 0-9, a-z, A-Z, + all special characters (@!#$%^&*(){}/*-+_=) would also take years to generate in advance if you don't have access to a distributed grid of computers dividing the processing power between themselves. And it costs quite abit of BTC to buy processing power from the cloud. And coming to think of it, aren't the bitcoins miners doing just that?

Here's the genius part. What if the CIA/NSA devised a way so that the bitcoin miners are actually generating the rainbow hashes needed to crack any password up to 64 characters in length. Wouldn't that practically give them access to any corporation + home wifi + any account needed?

I can think of a multitude of applications to the bitcoin distributed network, not excluding DDOSing, generating hashes for different types of decoding algorithms such as MD5, SHA1 (which are the most commonly used to protect passwords in databases), etc. Even the term that miners are generating hashes gives you the slight doubt that, what if?

Alright you might argue that now developers are using salt mechanism, but still...its food for thought. Any fanboys who read the code, care to give their opinion? Now don't get me wrong, I'm just inserting the notion of what if? I quite like the uses of bitcoin myself.

So far as I know Bitcoin is open-source project and code was reviewed thousand times by great coders from around the world.
So far nobody found any hidden traps. What I am saying is your speculation is senseless.

PS.

Come on ... Smiley ...

@Satoshi, please tell us one day how much were you laughing from all of those speculations Smiley But well ... most of those speculations are not funny at all I must say and pointless.

What if its not the NSA or CIA the bitcoin miners are working for... but actually North Korea!

Possible?

OR....

What if Bitcoin was just an idea tossed out on the table by asic/wafer / hardware and chip manufacturers.

Guys... what if we designed a roadmap to create a product that the user creates themselves...

We allow people to:  PRINT MONEY.

Who wouldnt want this product right? They will buy it.

Now... how can we make it even more profitable.

GUY 1:  Print a bunch for ourselves in the begining and wait to see if it takes off.

VP:  Love it great next idea!

GUY 2:   We could make it get more and more difficult, you know the math stuff, so they are always having to spend more money to reinvest in more chips and wafers and asics.

VP:  LOVE IT GREAT IDEA!

Guy 3:  How about we make it very power consuming... I'm thinking maybe we could work out some kickbacks from the major global power providers...

VP:   MONEY GUY MONEY! BUT QUESTION... WHAT DOES IT DO??? All this power, hardware, chips, work?

Guy 1: It gets us f'n rich.

What if?
