Really cool concept I love the idea of turning the mining race into a betting game, especially since it's built on verifiable Bitcoin data.

Just one suggestion that I think could take BlocksRace to the next level  consider integrating Bitcoin Lightning.

Nowadays, a huge portion of real Bitcoin transactions are happening over Lightning because of its speed and almost zero fees. It would make placing smaller bets (microbets) way more practical
Also, maybe even allow login/registration via Lightning using LNURL-auth.
LNURL-auth is like “Login with Google” or “Sign in with Twitter,” but for Bitcoin without email, passwords, or personal data.
You just click a button, scan a QR code with your Lightning wallet, and boom you’re instantly logged in or registered.

Looking forward to seeing how this evolves  best of luck and I’ll definitely be following the project!

Thank you BitGoba for the LNURL-auth suggestion. We will look into it. Between, stay tuned, by the end of this month we should release our next version of our app where you will be able to bet on many more outcomes and blocks through Lightning payments Smiley

Hey gunhell . I think you misunderstand the overall concept - you just bet which mining pool will hit a particular block. In the case scenario for ViaBTC you are describing, you would have lost your 10 USD as this particular block was hit by another pool .

one of the core values of the game is that, due to the decentralized nature of the pools and miners, the outcome cannot be manipulated. If you have a specific scenario in mind, I’d love to discuss it further Smiley
1. A large miner can rig this by moving to a different mining pool to change the chance of winning.
2. How is the block time determined? Maybe a mining pool can rig the block time.

Thank you Knight Hider.  Let's go with option 1 for manipulating.

Let's say an extremely large miner, who has 1% of the total network, decides to manipulate the market and switch off from the current mining pool to a different one just because of BlocksRace game. First such kind of switch is costly for him, as it is not instant, and he risks block to be mined during it. The risk for him is around 1% of 300K USD = 30K USD . And even if block is not found during the switch, the whole manipulation just increases by 1% the chance of his new mining pool to get the block. Moreover for the version we are preparing for integration with different casinos, we will have realtime data from the mining pools what is their current hashrate so this change will be reflected as well with a reduction of the odds for this pool.

Option 2 - mining pool can not rig block time as this is race between all mining pools which one will compute/guess a hash(with the pending bitcoin transactions as input) , lower than the current bitcoin network difficulty. Leaving this from one of the prominent cypherpunks in the space Smiley

In regards of current option for betting & payout, I do not want to argue, it is not something that can be scaled up for sure, thus for the next version we will offer you the option to make a bet & withdrawal through Lightning .

Let us know all of you what you think if such a kind of option will make it easier to make bets or you prefer to have my account section with  deposit & withdrawal options with different cryptocurrencies

I think, this might be the best unique gambling project I have ever seen in this forum.

Usually unique gambling projects are like crap because they made it from scratch, I have no problem to start small, but most of them can't get customers and they have limited budget, so in the end their project are dead.

I wonder what if miners know about this site, they're insiders, so they have higher chance to win.

Thank you for your comment, Solosanz. Your thoughts about insiders are quite interesting. However, one of the core values of the game is that, due to the decentralized nature of the pools and miners, the outcome cannot be manipulated. If you have a specific scenario in mind, I’d love to discuss it further Smiley

Why do I have to deposit Bitcoin into the generated address each time I want to place a bet while I haven't signed up on your platform, that is more risky because a delay on your platform while sent a transaction will cause site dormancy leading to site activeness where the whole process will refresh itself and my Bitcoin gone.

I don't know if you understand my point, it would've been more better to sign up first before given an address to deposit to your balance, either USDC, Bitcoin, or Litecoin.

What do you think?
Hey Josefjix, thank you for the comment. Actually is not working like that- the payment you made is not for a deposit but you making this way the respective bet as those wallet addresses are constant and tight to the outcome. We have tried to explain it in the section Place bets - How betting works.

Anyway, we hear your feedback that it is better we have either wallet connection or the usual my account section where you can deposit funds first, and we will work on that.

Hey SFR10,  your idea for outcome for mining streak was quite liked and looks not so difficult to implement. Once again thank you for the suggestion. As a small gift we would like to offer you a Free Bet.

How this will work . Choose an outcome from  Block 900,000 https://blocksrace.com/place-bets , bet 50 USD by sending the cryptocurrency from your wallet to the corresponding address and ping me it  so we can send you 50USD in crypto. Of course if you win, will send you as well your winnings (bet amount* odds)
You're very welcome, I'm glad BlocksRace's team liked my idea and I really appreciate your kind gesture [it means a lot], but I don't think I deserve a gift for my suggestion [thank you though] Smiley
You deserve it man!

Those suggestions are indeed that good or could give out another options for someone to bet on and not just that basing on the block # but rather also with those things mentioned above.
So i wont that disagree on why OP give out that 50 bucks freebet on which its kind of generous i should say on which hitting up with that Foundry bet give that 3x on which it isnt
a bad multiplier at all.

Hey SFR10 , I agree with stomachgrowls. You deserve it. We prefer to work on community driven features, rather on ones that may be no one will use one day, so such comments are indeed valuable. Also imagine you have bet on ViaBTC outcome that could have given you a good *8 multiplier. So in total 400 fiat USD

Anyway feel free always to contact me directly so you can have your free bet for one of the next rounds Smiley

I like the game, I've been waiting for such a game to appear on Bitcointalk for a long time and here I see it now but why are we limited to #900000 block? It will really be the best if you allow us to bet on #899881 block, #899954 block and etc... I'd really love to watch mempool.space and predict when the next block will be mined or which pool will mine the next block. I'd also be happy if you let us bet on whether the next block will be empty block or not.
Hey shield132, your post make me smile as looks like we have been in the same positon. Believe me, we do not want to limit you, just we have a limit on our end becuase we do not have our own wallet..yet. Not sure if  it is against forum's policy but may be you and some other members who are active bettors in crypto casinos, can give us couple of names that they use and trust the most so we can try to integrate with them first.

Welcome to the forum. I have visited the website and tried to understand how it does work. So far it seems registration is not required since you claimed to be decentralised. So I like the system you implemented. So it does require the sender's own address from where the funds will be sent. Though still I am getting hard to understand how odds will work. Because I am not a pro at gambling. What I understand is that if someone sends funds from the exchange, they would be in trouble in case he wins. Because you are going to use the same address from where the funds came. So this is really a concern, though you have a warning system.

Seems you have a wallet connect system, but it doesn't work for me. Probably it's still under development. So when are you going to implement this wallet connect? And how could we trust that connecting a wallet on your site is safe?
Thank you Cryptovator

Yes correct wallet connection is not yet available. We are considering couple of options, all of them have their pros and cons. Hope within the next 1-2 week we finalize the solution and start work on the integration .

And on the second question how you can trust us to connect your wallet - I would say - do not trust us . What I am doing in your case-  i have 1& 2 separate wallets which i am using to check user experience in websites that have wallet connections. I would prefer keep wallets separated so in case something goes wrong I wil loose just pocket money.

Welcome to the Bitcoin forum, this is a nice game concept it's been a while since I've seen a new type of game the last unique gambling site I saw before is still related to Blockchain and you need to guess the last number of the a certain blockchain transaction, where in your platform its placing a bet on which mining pool who's going to find the next block.

As a small gesture we would like to offer you 25% cashback ( upt to 25 USD ) on your bet for block 900,000 . Less than 24 hrs left to be mined!
The 25% cashback is generous, I tried to connect my wallet to the site but it seems like it's not available yet.

We do not yet have wallet connection availabe . You need to send directly from your LTC or BTC wallet ( please do not use exachanges) . You can see the different addresses when you click on place bet on the outcome you want to bet . The screenshot is just example one ! Do not sent funds to this address if you want to bet to another outcome  Smiley

Thank you all for all the positive words, questions and ...doubts  Grin

We are thrilled by the feedback & suggestions for the game, this gives us motivation to push even harder.

As a small gesture we would like to offer you 25% cashback ( upt to 25 USD ) on your bet for block 900,000 . Less than 24 hrs left to be mined!

How this work :
Choose an outcome https://blocksrace.com/place-bets, send LTC or BTC (up to 100 USD) to the respective address shown for this outcome& currency in the betslip. We will refund you 25% of the bet amount without any strings attached. If you win, will send you as well your winnings (bet amount* odds)

The first 2 members to react will get such cashback. To prevent confusion and multiple members to try to particpate at the same time, you can comment here first that you will take one of the slots so it is visible for the rest and afterwards to make the payment and ping me directly or here.

PS: I will try as well later to answer the last the questions & comments that have been posted.

The is is a wonderful innovation, a fair system that cannot be rigged. I already love the entire platform as it is easy to navigate and the interface is fine. My only concern is knowing how the odds are fixed for the various miners. Is there is known independent body that fixes the odds or you have an internal mechanism of knowing what the odd for each miner should be? Will you list other markets in the future as a way of expanding your business? Let me get the answers to these questions first, thank you.
Thank you sir !  As couple of questions were asked regarding odds, i will try to give example and basic concepts. Everything is automaticly calculated based on past blockchain data sets. Below you can find 2 data sets of 1000 blocks that have been already mined. for data set 1  394 out of 1000 blocks have been mined Under 5 minutes have which means 39,4% probability and respectively 2.54 exact odds. However as we would like to offer more rounding odds, more familiar to the bettors - on top of it if we have rounding script which as well give house edge ( can be adjusted however for our platform is quite minimal as you can see below)

In reality is a little bit more complicated. So to sum up everything is automatic and no need at this point someone to adjust them manually. And yes we plan to have more betting options/markets Smiley

Is there a reason why there is no option to bet that "other miners" will not get a block? If there is the option to bet on them, some will assume there should be the option to be to bet against. Will I also be able to select the exact block I want to bet on or will it be fixed by the website.

I like the concept of the game, looks original. It will be difficult to get mainstream, but with proper marketing and management, it could be.

- Jay -

Hey Jay, thank you for checking the game. Actually we had the option Other Miners not to hit the block, however it was a little bit confusing in the betslip as we needed more or less to follow same wording : it should have been "Bet that a mining pool different than Foundry USA, AntPool and ViaBTC will not mine block #"  .

We thought for different options however none of them was sounding clear. At the end we preffered to remove this option for now so people are not confused for what exactly are betting and then we to have complaints in this regard

Will be very happy to hear suggestions in this direction. May be we need to change the whole concept around Other and could be easier for understanding.

"Will I also be able to select the exact block I want to bet on or will it be fixed by the website"
Yes the direction is you to be able to bet on every block that is coming in the near future however for now we are offering particular blocks& outcomes due to limitattion that we do not have our own platform wallet. Until we have solution in place, you will be able to bet on selected events. In the casinos that integrate our product, you will be able to bet on the whole offering.

Isnt that 2.5x on other miners reward that small?

If we do base up on the overall chance or odds for other miners to mine the said block will be 38.12%
Then i would usually be sticking with foundry and antpool or even with viaBTC on which the profitability will be nice.

For those who do want to check out: https://mempool.space/mining

Hey Koadharber, it is nice catch Smiley You are right the fair odds for 38.12% hashrate actually is 2.62 https://www.aceodds.com/bet-calculator/odds-converter.html thus the value bet currently is on the top 3 miners

Within our API for Casinos we have realtime hashrate and respectively realtime odds however  internally within the team we have some arguments in general. Should the odds match 100% with the hashdata or sometimes  some bets to have a little bit more "value". Me personally i am triggered to bet on some football game when i notice a team has a bigger chance that the bookie has predicted while if it is fair odds i would just pass the game Smiley

Will be happy to hear your opinion on that.
