Anyone used logmein?

Hells yeah!

I vastly prefer LogMeIn over TeamViewer.

Any news on the downtime? Bitminter is inaccessible to my workers. The site can be pinged but doesn't respond to HTTP.

Download doesn't seem to be working. Tried the link in the first post (well, the link that the first post links to) - both Firefox and Chrome download a 3.5kb file instead of the 1.2mb clocktweak setup.

What is "Cubby"?
A piece of software by LogMeIn

Wow - Cubby is in super-secret-internal alpha, pre-announcement and all, I'm surprised to see it show up on Software Informer at all.

Anyway, Cubby was just opening the cgminer executable and that's why AVG is even displaying the LogMeIn product. I could have used Windows Explorer to copy it and then AVG would have shown Explorer at the bottom part. This isn't really relevant.

Martona, if you got the executable from Con's homepage, you should be safe.

Yeah that's where it came from, and like I said, I'm pretty sue it's a false positive of AVG's heuristics but I thought it's worth putting it in front of you guys, especially Con.

I would assume this is a false positive, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask official advice. MS Security Essentials didn't pick up on anything but AVG did.

I ordered a few of these with Paypal a few days ago. Other than the confirmation email from Paypal itself, I haven't heard a peep from these guys. Is this normal?

Re: Sapphire 6950s / catalyst 11.6 - computer freezes when I watch video

I have the same problem using 64-bit Vista - OP, are you on 32 or 64 bit?

Flags (-f ) don't seem to make a difference.

Videos cause an instant lockup, so does opening GPU-Z or CCC while mining. (They open just fine if guiminer is stopped.)

The flags you recommended did not make a difference.

If GPU-Z is running when I start guiminer then there's a lockup. It doesn't matter what comes first, CCC/GPU-Z or poclbm, but they can't seem to coexist.

Also, just like this guy here:

http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=22575.0

...the computer also hangs immediately when I start to play a video (say, youtube).

No OC whatsoever. PSU is 1500 watts, and the 6990's 12v inputs are hooked up to separate PSU ports. I can load the CPU with a benchmark while mining and there are no issues, so it's most likely not a wattage problem.

Vista x64, Radeon 6990, locks up
by

on 27/06/2011, 03:26:44 UTC
Ok this is strange:

When I have load on the card (poclbm) and I try to open Catalyst Control Center or GPU-Z to check the temps, the computer locks up hard. When there's no load, I can open CCC or GPU-Z no problem. Poclbm alone doesn't cause problems, the computer is mining happily at 650+ mhash (-f 140).

Anyone run into this?

Using latest versions of everything (Catalyst 11.6, etc) on Vista x64.

Not being able to check the temps is a tad annoying.

Radeon heatsink retention screw-ed
by

on 26/06/2011, 21:30:09 UTC
I was installing a water block on my 6990 and a little spring-loaded screw jumped out and went MIA in my den. Kind of a bummer - I think I could install the card without the screw but I'd rather not.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement?

The screw I'm talking about is one of four that hold the square-shaped retention bracket right behind the GPU chip. Dual-GPU cards have two of these brackets, single-GPU cards have one. There are four little screws and four springs per bracket. I found the spring. I just need the screw.

Annoying as hell. Anyone any ideas?

Very cool, got it.

One bug to report: when the fan speed is displayed as "n/a"  there's an unnecessary linebreak at the end of the "n/a"  string that disrupts the display:

Code:
#0: Temp:54 Load:99 Fan:N.A
Level:2 CoreL2:775 MemL2:250 mVoltL2:1050
#2: Temp:50 Load:93 Fan:18 Level:2 CoreL2:775 MemL2:250 mVoltL2:1050

The link where you're supposed to be able to buy the program has been going to a 500 error for the past couple of days.

Re: Cant get 6970 to mine? (Locks up)

Just reinstalled the machine to windows 7 pro 64bit, and also installed the drivers and steam sdk.

Ive tried guiminer and this shows a few hundred khash/s and then locks up the whole of windows, surely this isnt right?

Does anyone have any ideas?

It looks like a hardware problem. You could try underclocking the video card to see if you can limp along that way. Have you tried using the cards "normally"? You know, in 3D mode? Run a benchmark or two? If it is indeed a hardware issue it's still not certain that it's the card, it could be a motherboard or PSU problem as well.

... but this 5-post thing doesn't really make sense to me.

IIf the problem is that if you ban spammers they will just come back with another account and annoy the regular forums, why don't you do something cool about the ban process? There's hellban, slowban and errorban (or any combination of these). The spammers will GTFO on their all volition and never come back. Everyone wins.

ClockTweak?

Is this product still active? If so, how can one get it? The reason I'm asking is because the link given in the thread has been going to a 500 error page for a couple of days now: http://www.bitcoinservice.co.uk/files/987

(Obviously I'd ask this in the original thread but being a n00b I kind of have to do this here.)

Just out of curiosity, how would you go about verifying somebody's trustworthiness through their ebay account?
