Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It
by

Come on guys, where's your team spirit? Smiley

thats the spirit! come on FC! AM roxx! Smiley

Still a fan, for a start up they have done incredible and nothing short of it.
Im hopeful but not a believer having sold the bulk of my shares @ 4.5, then 2.5, then a few at 0.5 and finally all but 5 at 0.2-0.25.
Having been watching the "news" for some time and its been unimpressive so no reason to hold (for me) but I idly speculate still and would likely rebuy some if I saw promise in any future announcements.

Why do I suspect ghash.io+bitfury retain a large amount of hashing power ?
(warning please done tinfoil hats and suspend disbelief):

Ever since the decline of AM's hash % from 30 to 10, then 1% the hash rate of the ghash.io pool steadily rose to achieve first 30% then finally 50%+ (after which point mining on their own private pool would endanger their own profitability) with the difficulty spiking insanely, FC deployed as much as the DC could take OC'ing all gen1 chips and was still unable to maintain an edge.
Thanks to this move, they also managed to destroy any chance of a profitable gen3 farm for AM simply by being able to calculate from the available specs FC predicted by raising the difficulty past the point of these chips easily/ever achieving ROI.
As a follow on move, they destroyed the expected capital of gen3 there for knee capping their main competitor at the time.
Currently I believe they maintain as much hash ratio as they can without damaging their own immediate profit, as a side benift this also wards of future investors whose risk vs return raises drastically.
Finally I believe a company as aggressive (and with 0 regard for the community) as ghash+bitfury would be smart enough to invest their profits in future chips to ensure they can deploy the moment an opponent attempts to spike the global hash rate by more than 1% (ensuring the competitor cannot achieve ROI).

(tinfoil hat off now).

so if your a bit paranoid from what has been observed from the last ~8 months performance like myself you would have little confidence in AM atm.

My one consideration is that FC is trying for a hail Mary shot where he remains silent about specs then bulk deploys via his franchise blowing ghash+bitfury out the water entirely (ie go nuclear with the hash rate). If anyone at all in the bitcoin community is capable of attempting and achieving some sort of success with this method it would be FC.

That train has sailed as AM doesn't have the money and the deployment capabilities to deploy a big scale self mining operation. FC could do it right as soon as he had chips in hand, but he didn't do it.

Exactly! Since deploying large amounts of machines is a difficult endeavor, he chose to sell the chips. Unfortunately they didn't perform as well as expected. So now when he's looking for ways to deploy hashrate he has nothing prepared. Man, he was just unlucky.
By the way, what does your name mean. It sounds like you're on the road all day long and when you get home you are completely stressed out!

friedcat was already unable to deploy chips after he maxed out his DC in china with Gen 1.
The fabled immersive DC was built and never used.
The mining franchises honestly struck me as a way for AM to bootstrap their own new companies (free of shareholders) while using company funds to get it done (chips being sold at cost made me consider this even more).
Gen 2 was a wash, Gen 3 was sold at cost frankly I dont see gen 4 doing anything other than failing or being sold at cost again to shell companies.

I dont see AM climbing out from under the thumb of Bitfury+GHash.io who seem to keep an insane amount of hashing power in reserve so they can squash all profitibility of any other mining company by switching them on as the other companies (ie AM) deploy.

well when i told support about the glitch that took my whole balance, they said "we fix when we can", followed by "GOOD LUCK" then i was ignored

only 20mBTC but  just beware if you are a paying gambler
i got a message from support saying "we wish you good luck" followed by consistant server seed taken messages along with my balance being deducted anyways.
After complaining to them they said  " if server seed taken, your bet is not considered"

Sorry for your discomfort. we will fix it and we'll refund your involved bets . our technical team is working.

you didnt refund my bets you refunded 10% of it....

Haha this thing is still going?

It was a great effort.

It seems to be kept going though by potential ponzi's claiming not to be ponzi's!

Well at least that might help with the "shill" angle.

Good Luck.

thanks guys and *bump*

Its still going but low priority, the last ponzi operator threatened to commit suicide if I didnt remove him.
Obviously I cant start making exceptions for suicidal ponzi operators and the devil on my shoulder is telling me its a win no matter which way you look at it Tongue

IMAO you serious, thats the funniest threat I ever heard.  gosh I kinda would love to see what he wrote to you, can you post it?

lets not indulge his little fantasy any further by giving him attention.

Besides if we are lucky, thats 1 dead ponzi operator and only XXX more to go Smiley

We pay hourly which reduces the chances of the system getting stuck.

What do you mean?  A ponzi scheme is guaranteed to become 'stuck' when the number of suckers drawn into the system isn't enough to pay out the early adopters.

I look forward to the numerous 'umm, the payments have slowed and then stopped, you guys sure it's still working, I haven't got my investment back yet' posts.

well said sir Smiley

This is a gamble in the same way leaving your wallet on the bus and hoping to come back, find it and also have another $100 stuffed in it.

This is not a gamble in the form of a casino game, a wager or a bet.

This is a scam, a grift and most of all a tax on the gullible.

CoinGain is a investment program where our clients funds are spread across a range of different projects and in return from our revenue stream are paid out with a certain amount of profit.

What the fuck exactly is your HYIP Scam being promoted in a gambling subforum ?

Ponzi.s seem not to be present as much as they use to

ED seem to have stole tens of bitcoins so any new Bitcoin website is a threat

by that logic every person is a potential murderer and rapist.

Now lets employee some good common sense and realize:

New casinos have to earn their trust, people blindly investing in an unknown...... are not much brighter than those investing ponzi imho.

In terms of the jackpot i dont agree.
But as you said thats a different discussion i look forward to having on another thread :-)

Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts
by
mem
on 09/05/2014, 11:18:39 UTC
I still have not heard back from seals about my bitcoin withdrawal.

I'm planning on taking legal action against Bryan Micon, and am going to file a complaint with the DOJ about him defrauding me. I don't think I could win a case in court over this, but given Micon's status as a US citizen and his affiliation with an unlicensed online gambling operation, I'm sure he'll be facing some legal issues if I pursue this.

Yikes.

Are you sure it's not just an oversight?  I haven't had any issues withdrawing and I haven't heard of anyone else having issues either.  Sometimes it takes a day or two (max) because they process withdraws by hand.  My guess is that you're jumping the gun here.

Not an oversight as pete played as shitvaccumer and colluded thus he had his bigbtc tournament win confiscated. Gl with your suit Pete. I call bluff on your litigation effort. Try reading the thread pilot would help before you respond with idiotic gibberish its a few posts back.

I see. I see.  Yes I saw the shitvaccumer guy griping a few posts back and the accusations of collusion.  Out of curiosity, I suppose that there must have been some pretty concrete proof he was cheating if you guys are keeping winnings.

Collusion is a huge problem for online poker and Im glad to see seals taking a hard stance against it.
OTOH you would want some concrete evidence that there had been collusion, ie multiple players on the same table from the same IP.

If you make the argument that the player played uncanny hands, then Id make the same call against Micon....
I played him in the early days of seals, lets just say his hands were absolutely uncanny, I thought it was very suspicious as I knew site operators could see player hands.
I bitched and grumbled, but at the end of the day I wrote it off as Micon being an excellent player, myself being a poor loser and most importantly unprovable.

In short, if they have proof that you have misused their service they are well within their rights to forfeit all your winnings.
If they fail to prove that you have, then they still have the right to refuse you service.
If they have no proof but only suspicion then they should not be confiscating any funds but they should refuse future service.

About to hop on to seals now and have a play.

Re: COINHULK - New 50% Deal ◀◀◀◀
by
mem
on 09/05/2014, 11:02:12 UTC
@mem - thanks for weighing in here.
The basics of wagering versus deposit still get confused by many players.
Your example explains this clearly but I would like to bring up a different game.
Slots
The house still has an edge but there is the chance for jackpot.
As a slots player the bonus extends your play on the machine.
The house edge remains the same but your chance to hit a jackpot increases.
This is obviously a different example to single payout games like blackjack and a different player as well.

Hrmm not sure I follow you, the chance to collect an active jackpot (some sites gaol the jackpot until certain conditions are met) is always the same.
The average payout when including the jackpot grows with the jackpot.

Slots are really no different at all to a roulette game, except roulette rarely (satoshiroulette runs jackpots) have jackpots.

Best to stay on topic for coinhulk's thread though, I just wanted to point out that deposit bonuses are all to often a trap and not a bonus.

eg in 88roulette example, when all is said an done your playing against a house edge of 8% which is far higher than even an american roulette table and definitely higher than a euro table.

Sometimes there are legitimate bonuses, but you really need to run the maths first to ensure your not about to trap your BTC.

As passionate as I am about this topic, Im here to warn people away from ponzi operators, not to abuse people for their stupid "investments".

The main issue with ponzi operators is they churn accounts with each new scam.

Maybe.  There's no missing money yet, and it'd take a real asshole to go through that much trouble for $29, but this is cryptoland so who knows.

What you guys constantly fail to realise is that its not $29, its $29 * each thread.

When you guys finally wise up, they create another account, start a new thread repeat the cycle.
