Re: Thermal-Pad-Replace succeeded 100%?

for it to be successful, you need to focus on memory thermal pads having 100% contact with the heatsink, core temperature is secondary and others like mosfets and vrm, dont even bother. I did just this on my 3080 and core temp is 48c and memory temperature is around 74 - 78c. What i see, is that most of you trolls are focusing on vrm and mosfets and trust me there is no need as long as you keep your gpu clean, the only issue for them would be dust overtime but even though not much increase in temperature they would have, so focus on memory then core.
Do you also think, that one should use additional thermal paste on both sides of the thermal pads?? That sounds a little bit overkill to me.

one question though, the old thermal pad you removed was it 2.5mm in size? I hope it is.
I am not exactly sure which size the old one was. My new 3.0mm were to thick and then the GPU temp went up very fast to nearly 90°C, cause it had no full contact with the heat sink because of the too thick thermal pads.
So as now the GPU temp is fine, I think 2.5mm must be OK. If I would use 2.0mm they could be too thin and memory temp could go up again, if no full contact with heat sink. Don't you think?

What I try to say: I mean, that memory temp can not go down more with 2.0mm thermal pads than it does already with 2.5mm thermal pads.

Thermal-Pad-Replace succeeded 100%?

Hello,

I am unsure, if my thermal pad replacement on my MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3X OC 10G Non-LHR did succeed, cause I still have 96°C - 98°C memory temp: https://i.imgur.com/iqKIdk3.png

It is better than before now, cause before you told me, that it was thermal throttling at around 110°C: https://i.imgur.com/8M0yCrH.png

But I am still unsure if my mem temp shouldn't be around 10°C less? So at around 85°C like in the video which describes the thermal pad replacement for exactly my model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8KKYtiuu0I

I used 2.5mm Thermal Right Extreme Odyssey pads, as 3.0mm was to thick. Thermal paste is Grizzly Kyronaut Extreme (CPU temp is fine I think).

Do you have any suggestions for me, how to bring the memory temperatur to around 85°C or do you think my temps are fine?

Convert Afterburner settings into t-rex miner arguments?
by

Good morning,

my non-LHR MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x 10G OC is doing ETH mining with around 98 MH/s with following Afterburner settings. Can you please explain, how to convert that to t-rex miner command line arguments?

Afterburner:
Core clock: -200
Memory Clock: +1100
Power Limit: 75%
Fan: Auto

May I put this 1:1 in t-rex arguments or I will I have to convert some values and/or add some arguments?

t-rex:
-cclock -200 -mclock 1100 -pl 75

Re: Only 80 MH/s with RTX 3080 non LHR??

Hello, I replaced the thermal pads now with 3.0 mm Thermalright Odyssey pads and memory temp went down from over 110C to 84C.

But the problem is, that now the other (first) temp is up 88C in about 5 seconds after starting t-rex miner. What is the problem now? I also replaced the thermal paste directly on the chip, like shown in that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8KKYtiuu0I

Hello,

I bought a MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x 10G OC "non-LHR" but I do get only around 80 MH/s when mining ETH with latest t-rex miner. Do you understand why? I thought it should be around 95 - 100 MH/s.
Please have a look on my settings: https://i.imgur.com/8M0yCrH.png

Thanks for all your help!
I used that pool 3 years ago: https://ethermine.org/
I it still one of the best choices? Or would you suggest another one?

Thank you!
It as definitive a non LHR.

Which miner under Windows would you suggest for that card? I mine only with the 1 card currently, while I don't use it for gaming. Some years ago I used ethminer, but I don't know if it is still state-of-the-art.

Hello,

I bought a used MSI RTX 3080 Ventus 3x 10G OC "non-LHR" for Ethereum mining and wanted to know if it is necessary to update the BIOS to get better hashrates. What do you think?

Thank you!

Can I buy currently a new 3080 non-LHR? Or are all new 3080 LHR cards?
Or how can I check if the card is LHR / non-LHR?

My card is an 3080 LHR. Which Hashratr will I get at ETH?
And which Hashrate will I get with an 3080 non-LHR?
Or will it be the same with the correct miner?

RTX 3080 mining firmware?

Hello,

I bought an RTX 3080 now (ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 V2 OC (LHR)) and want to use it for mining, when I am not gaming.
Do I need a special firmware for mining for that RTX 3080, or is that only the case if you have an RTX 3080 Ti?

Hi,

over one year ago I had to switch my Nvidia 1060 3GB GPUs from Ethereum to Ravencoin. Was a good decision I think and mined a lot.
Since 2 months now RVN difficulty exploded. (Does anyone know the reason?)

So I think I should switch to another coin again now.
Which one would you suggest for my old GPUs?

Do you have compared Hashrates of ethminer / Phoenix?
Does ethminer even have a dev fee?

Claymore is the one I use and it has proven to be stable and lately a few days ago Claymore did publish his new version 14 of miner as a beta version and I think when he will make it available as stable will be the best miner as always at least for me.
That sounds to me, as you have never compared it to other miners.

Hello,

I am still using some Nvidia 1060 6GB to mine Ethereum.
Which miner is currently the best to use for that cards?
1 and 2 years ago always ethminer was the fastest and (I think) without dev fee.

Did that change in the meanwhile? Is maybe Claymore or Phoenix or any other now faster?
