Rare satoshis are not NFT’s or ORDINALS.  Ordinal software is used to identify and group them into a UTXO that can be collected and traded.  Here are some links where you can learn more about the history and get started. (all legit sites, you can do your own due diligence to verify them):

https://ordinals-1.gitbook.io/ordinals-guide          (has all the old school info from the beginning.  Has great info about SPARROW software where you can find and create UTXO of rare sats you own without using a service)

https://www.raresatsociety.com/         (the original sat hunter and inscription service.  Pretty much a dead site, but rare sat society was the beginning of collectors and has some good info to research)

https://www.ord.io/                 (here you can search sat names, numbers, and even find wallets that are holding rare sats. You can find sats that haven’t even been mined yet Smiley )

https://magisat.io/             (great place to buy and sell rare sats, you can also separate rare sats into UTXO yourself for a fee)

https://sating.io/                (search your wallets to see if you are holding any)

https://ordiscan.com/

https://magiceden.us/ordinals/discover-raresats       (magiceden you can trade and buy, search your wallets, but their site needs work, magisat is more functional)

XVERSE wallet is nice too.  They have a section just to see if you have rare sats.  If you trust Xverse wallet then you do not have to enter your public wallet address anywhere, but don’t be paranoid about your public wallet.

The flow of satoshis from inputs to outputs in Bitcoin transactions is done First-In-First-Out. (sending a UTXO containing 1,000,000sats to two addresses: 500,000 to the first and 490,000 to the second, will send the first 500,000 to the first address, 490,000 to the second, and the rest of 10,000 sats to the miner's address adding the block)
This is an Ordinal theory not a Bitcoin protocol

Bitcoin are fungible so all Sats are equal.

This is highly likely a passing Fad so I doubt it has a future not to mention rarity is speculative and hasn't been proper stated so I doubt it would be liquid.
Not to mention It was increase the number of Bitcoin scams since individuals that know little and have the money could be deceived to buy a "normal" as rare.

Yes it's fun hunting and seeing something corresponding with history, but if miners focus on rare Sat's what do you think would happen to the security of Bitcoin in the long run?

Well not a hater of development but I love development that complements not contradicts.

JUST FYI to all:  Every satoshi has its own unique name, number, and place in the blockchain.  It also has a history of where it has been.  These are all attributes that can be used to make something collectible. These factors can lead to extreme rarity whether you agree or not.  Those are facts.  Whether it catches on is another question.

Also all of this satoshi data can be looked up and verified all the way to the final satoshi that will ever be mined.  The data has already been created all the way up to the final sat that will be mined.

Every single satoshi on the Bitcoin blockchain are completely equal and the same. Now if you decide to pay more for an arbitrary coin, that is your own personal choice but that doesn't make those coins "rare". As it was said, Bitcoin is Fungible.

Perhaps this is a good explanation of why satoshis can be tracked and how. Simply by assigning ids and tracking them, you can identify rare sats. Lmk if the referenced post makes sense Smiley. Thx

The BTC software assigns a name and number to every sat that has been mined and will be mined.  This is done from day 1.  The names and numbers of future sats that have not even been mined are already named and numbered.  It is a built in function of the blockchain.  These are not added on to them after mining.
You can look up the final satoshi that will ever be mined and it already has a name and number assigned.

This makes no sense.

It would of made sense if every single Satoshi had a Serial Number of some sort attached to it.  Just like Banknotes do.  But in this case, it is equal to thinking a single drop of water out of a filled bucket is rare.  How do you move the drop of water and identify it as the rare one?

It is interesting to know that some of your Bitcoin were initially part of the first ever Mined blocks of Bitcoin.  But identifying how many and where and even making them non Fungible is a no from me.  All Bitcoins should be Fungible.  I hate how we are drifting away from that willingly.

Satoshis do have a serial number and a name.  ALL OF THEM.  Even the ones that have not been mined are already serialized and named.  You can look up the final sat that will ever be mined and it already has a number and a name.  This is the premise of why they can be collectible.  They have a history and are each unique.

This is why I like to think of Rare Sats as Collectible Coins.  Although different, as Sats do not have misprints,  made from different materials,  removed from circulation, or uncirculated.  Rare sats have different qualities that make them rare and collectible. Pure unmolested sats that have a historical significance.
Like it or not that is fine, but do not be confused, these are not NFT’s or ORDINALS.

The ordinal software filters the data on the blockchain and groups the Rare Sats into a UTXO on their own to make them easier to trade.  They are traded in a BTC ordinal wallet to keep them safe and protected from being used as fees, or gas.

There are some DEVS that made NFT’s with rare sats, but that is a very small percentage.  In my opinion I do not buy those.  I pass on a rare sat bag that has someones inscription or image added to it.  I like the purest UTXO with only rare sats on them.

But I agree keep the topic to Rare Sats and not NFT’s.  They are not NFT’s or ORDINALS.

The more we talk about this the better people will understand what they are.  Yes they are sold on NFT sites but there has to be a marketplace somewhere.  If you do not like trading on NFT marketplaces then this isn’t for you.  An NFT marketplace is just a DEX or CEX with a different function.  It is no more risky that trading BTC on a DEX or CEX.  Do your homework, do not trade on a scam site YES, but NFT or FT exchange all have scam sites.

If you hate ORDINALS AND NFT’s that is fine, but do not lump RARE SATS with them.  These are just satoshis that are rare..

Rare Satoshis are NOT ordinals.  The ordinal software was created to search for and hunt for satoshis (and other features).  ORDINALS are satoshis that have had inscriptions added RARE SATOSHIS are pure BTC SATS.  Nothing has changed.  They are not ordinals.  The ordinal software is used to find them and group them into a utxo together.  NOT ORDINALS not NFT's..

The ordinal software also is what is responsible for these NFT’s and weird inscribed sats and those are ORDINALS.  It needs to be clear that Rare Sats are just pure unmolested satoshis.  Nothing added, nothing changed.

It is the sats history that can make them rare.  Just transfering them multiple times doesn’t change its history.  Someone out there has the very first sat to ever hit the market.  That is pretty collectible in my opinion.  Then you can categorize them on many factors for collectibility. Sats that were used to hire a hitman, the sats that were used to buy the Papa Johns pizza in the very beginning that were used to establish a base price of BTC.  Block 9 450x are the very first block of sats that were mined.  That is pretty collectible..  The less of a certain sat the more rare.  Block 9 450x to me are the most collectible.  Sure there are more rare ones, but only a few and people have already found them or they are still in peoples wallets undiscovered.

It needs to be cleared up that these are not NFT or ORDINALs.  They are just plain satoshis.  The ordinal software is used to find them and group them into a UTXO  that has the lease amount of common satoshis so that it can be traded.

This is using software to filter and sort satoshis, much like the CEX has software to filter data on the blockchain and sites like ethscan.  This is used to filter the data NO CHANGE IT.

Well these are not NFT’s.  There are no inscription or images.  Just sats that are grouped based on different criteria.  Block 9 450x for instance are from the first bitcoin that was ever mined. So just pieces of the first bitcoin mined, and the first block.  So it is basically owning some of the first bitcoin ever (available). I think the first 10 are in Satoshi’s wallet and should never move.

These are not NFT’s, or inscribed ordinals.  Just to be clear, it is just Satoshis deemed rare and grouped in certain amounts.  Satoshis lost in transfer were an early issues.  Now they have ord wallet addresses that make it very safe to move around.

Still Fungible technically.  But look at it like collectible coins.  Coins are still fungible just because someone collects it for a certain rarity.  Collecting them does not change the satoshi.

Block 9 450x is just like owning the first block on the first BTC ever that went into circulation.  Still completely fungible, just like collectible coins are still fungible.  Again not inscribed or nft’s.

Satoshi did make the software capable of inscribing satoshis.  So this is a function of the token it was meant to have this function.  Just like all satoshis have a NAME and NUMBER assigned even before they have been mined it is all predetermined.

There are some pretty cool satoshi names out there.  Because of the amount of satoshis that will be mined over time there is virtually any name you can imagine.  My name is one first and last.  So are some of my friends. And ridiculous phrases.  All satoshis have names already. You can search all of this.  And this was done by Satoshi not some NFT dev.  It is in the software.  Some of the Satoshi names are hilarious.

I am just trying to clarify, it seems like maybe there is some misunderstanding of what rare sats are. Not NFT’s or added inscription.  All Natural, just separated and grouped to be collected.

Rare Satoshis, thoughts? Anyone on here holding or trading? Block 9 450x?

Is anyone here holding / looking at Rare Satoshis on Magisat or Magic Eden?  I feel like these have a lot of potential.  I think of them like the collectible coins of crypto.  When I look at all the categories I feel like it is obvious that Block 9 450x have the greatest potential.  I definitely fomo’d a bit Smiley.

If you don’t know, you can check your wallets for rare sats that you might already have hiding.  Some are seriously valuable.  Christy’s and Sotheby's have auctions too.  It looks really promising to me.

Any thoughts?

Such feature cannot be added to this old forum software, but it will be added on new forum software that is on its development.

Now, regarding the solutions, 2fa isn't the solution, it can still be accessed by anyone/hackers on your device and the same thing will happen, you will be hacked. What users should do is to secure their account, the same thing to emails, used device, be familiarize all types of schemes for scams, as well as to broaden their knowledge of everything to avoid getting hacked.

Using google first always help.

I am not talking about scammer, I am talking about legitimate hackers.

Extra protection will absolutely help. The site needs to upgrade the software and enable 2fa.  Those are features I can use to increase my own security. As you mentioned.
This site obviously needs increased protection. I have never seen a site with so many hackers and a bounty to hack the site. WHY? Just upgrade and add 2fa.

Why So Many Scammers??? HMMM? Read here for the SOLUTION to this simple problem
by

Hi,

I am a relatively new member, and was surprised when I first signed up that there were soo many hackers.  In reality hackers are extremely rare, so why al the hackers on this website forum??? Think about it for a bit.  Why does this site invite hackers here to try and hack the system?

How to solve this problem?? Easy 2FA.  This is not expensive to do. Depending on the amount of members it would be super cheap to do. Especially when everyone on here has loads of money and ITS CHEAP TO DO.

Don't let the site argue with you that it is too expensive. That is not true, it is cheap. Maybe $1000 if the site is not super huge.

WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO BE SAFE AND PROTECTED?  WHY IS THIS SITE INVITING HACKERS TO TRY AND HACK THE SYSTEM and TO BE PAID TO DO IT??  THAT LITERALLY INVITES HACKERS TO THIS SITE, builds relationships with hackers. The hat they wear is a fine line especially when we are inviting them from anywhere on the web. Why not hire a service???  All these questions scare me personally. Why, because it doesn't make sense why a site that people move so much money on is not better protected. Simple password requirements and no 2FA.

Something doesn't seem right to me. For this site to continue the MEMBERS MUST DEMAND 2FA. This would protect all issues of scamming and would reduce expensive ESCROW transactions, fees, and prolonged shipping. ESCROW can still be used for those who would like to use it and others can trust members they know and be able to trust that hackers will never get through again.

NO MORE HACKERS DEMAND 2FA!!!!!

Your concerned honest friend,
