i dont have the block chain but i do have electrum. i have a wallet backup but it shoots me an error when i go to open it in electrum i think i am missing something specific. is there a guide by chance?

Dude, I have not had access to my bitcoin in YEARS. I don't understand why a software like Amory is still promoted. Using it instead of a vanilla bitcoin wallet was one of the biggest mistakes in my life.

To export in into "electron", it is my undersanding that you have to have armory up and running. Good luck with that.

OK, Bitcoin core can now run under windows in the virtual machine, and it uses the blockchain from Linux

I installed Armory under windows. It starts up, long time since I have seen it running.  Roll Eyes

But it says "offline". Any suggestions? Have not tried to import or copy wallets yet.

How to get Bitcoins out of Armory

I was not able to do this for a very long time. I have a new computer now. Downloaded the complete blockchain since, great, Armory does not work with a truncated one.

Now Armory 0.96.5 does not even install anymore under Ubuntu 22.04

1. What would be a Ubuntu version that can run armory a last time?

2. Is it possible to use a linux wallet under windows? I have virtual box and the blockchain is in a path that windows can access from virtualbox.

Any help appreciated. Honestly, i don't understand how anyone could be so crazy to use armory. And how do you run it? Windows? Super old Linux system? Virtual Box?

The armory runs on top of the Bitcoin.org client right? Is there a way to import my wallet.dat file into the Armory client?

Why for f. sake would you want to do this? Keep them where they are. I have not been able to get my stuff out of Amory for a long time. I just managed to download the complete blockchain and will try again. AFAIK armory does not even run under a modern Ubuntu system.

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from armory.

Armory wallet does not work if your Bitcoin core is pruned it needs to download the whole blockchain to make Armory work and the current blockchain size is not 435GB it's more than 500 GB.

About extracting the private key you can backup the private key by going to wallet properties> backup> export key list.

If you don't want too much hassle then use Electrum wallet you can import private keys from Armory to Electrum wallet.

Thank you. Do I need a running Armory first to export the keys or can I directly import?

I still have an armory wallet. Otherwise I would not bother.

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of armory:
 armory depends on python-qt4; however:
  Package python-qt4 is not installed.
 armory depends on python-twisted; however:
  Package python-twisted is not installed.

Please advice, any help appreciated.

Well, at least I got Armory running again on my laptop. But it is a pain with the Blochchain on an external HDD.
Is that laptop running Ubuntu 20.04 or did you downgrade back to Ubuntu 18.04? Huh

Sorry for being unclear. I downgraded the laptop to 18.04. But the Chain is on an external HDD so it is slow as f....

I really hope we can move on to 20.04

oK, I was travelling and hence silent.

I donwgraded to ubuntu 18.04 und Armory still does not run.

"Unknownd fcgi header request by byte."

I am extremely worried Armory seems to be extraordinary fragile and hard to get running again. Any advice?

I have to many problems with Ubuntu 20.04 (e.g. getting fcitx to work). I will downgrade to 18.04.

Still hope to get Armory back to work.

I would like to keep using it. This is the shell output on my Desktop. It is still running there.

When will you upgrade the qt library? I think armory should run under Ubuntu 20.04. This is the current LTS Version

From this snippet, ArmoryDB is up and running fine, what you need is for ArmoryQt to connect to it. This typically happens as is when you just start it. Please run ArmoryQt from the terminal while ArmoryDB is running and report the result here. Full logs are preferred, as mentioned earlier.

Jesus. I just updated to Ubuntu 20.04, hoping that this might fix my problems.
No I cant even install armory. python-qt4 is not available and no installation candidate.

What is the last ubuntu version where I can get armory to work? What a nightmare

Ubuntu. ArmoryQT does nothing.

How are you starting armory without the command line?

If it is an icon, check the command it is executing by right-clicking it and looking at the properties.
Then execute it from the command line, and you hopefully will get an output to stdout.

Just armory does something. But how to start AmoryQT separately, as I was told?

3. How do I start ArmoryQt from the shell?

I think this is the command

Code:
start ArmoryQt.exe

Make sure you are on the correct path to use the command above. So use this command below first.

Code:
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Armory\"

Ubuntu. ArmoryQT does nothing. ALso can't identify with ps when started from the menu.

1. Start Bitcoin core, wait until current. Exit

2. Start armorydb, output on shell:

Either there is a zombie armorydb instance or there is another process listening on the port it is trying to use.

OK. And how can I find this out/fix?

Just posting snippets of debug output doesn't exactly help without some context.  Undecided

What exactly have you tried when you got that output? Is that just the output from running ArmoryDB.exe manually? Huh What happened when you tried to run ArmoryQT? Did it start at all? Huh

So, I am back. Was busy. Had to update to 18.10 und armory was not spinning up at all anymore. Now it is and I still have the old problem.

My armory is not running. Based on the error log I was advised:

"There is something stopping ArmoryQt from connecting to ArmoryDB, probably a port conflict. You should start ArmoryDB manually then start ArmoryQt, see how that goes."

Hence I started the armorydb from the shell and this was the output I got.
