Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20

Always going to be haters and non believers...

Just need to stop listening to all the negative people.

We are trying to do something that has never been done before and know body said it would be easy.

Our focus is now adoption adoption adoption.

So no more flaming please and let's get people all over world accepting Potcoin.  We can help change the cannabis industry and the world by supporting it.

Listen, Potcoin... I love the idea of Potcoin.  I love the niche that you're trying to fill in an industry that is growing exponentially.  However... I'm not hating on Potcoin because it's fun.  I'm upset about some of the things that have come to light lately.

The 4/20 video was pretty upsetting(as pointed out by the Reddit poster).  If I was a vendor at that event and you came up to me looking like you looked in the video, and you were baked, I wouldn't want to do business with you.  If we're doing business, I want you sober and professional looking.  I don't care that you smoke... just don't do it when business is on the table.

You're trying to grow a business, not a crop.  The mention of making Potcoin as difficult to mine as it is to grow a crop is silly.  One coin to one gram is silly.  Even at $10 a gram, if you shot for that, you'd be looking at a $4.2B market cap, and I would be a millionaire on POT.  Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be a millionaire.  But if that was the goal, it should have been the goal from the start.  Do you think the whales holding the bag on POT aren't going to insta-dump at even $1?  It's too late now to try to make it something 1:1.  Work with what you have.  Hindsight is always 20/20.

The Snoop video was so over hyped and ended up being pointless.  You basically paid for some Snoop merchandise and signatures.  I can't sell the idea of Potcoin to my friends by telling them "yeah, well Potcoin gave out a Snoop CD".  I understand the legal stuff, but again, it was disappointing.

The coin halving idea was a mess, and still is.  Where is the community poll?  Is that on the radar still?

Why is bitcointalk the secondary means of communicating info?  I'm tired of having to go to the armpit of the internet, Reddit, for Potcoin news.  It almost feels like a slap in the face every time you post there and then "announce" news here with a link to Reddit.  At least cross post the same info so it doesn't feel like an after-thought.

Just my 2 cents.

Again, I like POT, and I want it to succeed.  I'm going to be blatantly honest and critical because of that.  I'm sorry if that offends anyone.

-Fuse

I agree with everything you are saying. Now...

I've decided to stop mining this coin. After reading all the drama and lack of response from the devs. I'm losing faith in the people in charge.  Huh

would it be crazy to buy 100 gridseed at this moment? seems could see roi lot faster on betarigs
There is a lot less risk in renting rigs, but you have to pay a premium to cover someone else's time/money/effort. Owning rigs will always bring more profit (assuming you don't lose money on the hardware), but you have to gauge your risk tolerance, time to invest, and knowledge.

I gambled on over 100 Gridseed. Profits are good but they will reduce every month. I'll take those gains and pay for titian in 3 months to keep it going. ROI is a long way away for me. But hey no risk no gain. Sometimes you need to go with your gut.

i dont think you can roi in 1 year.  look at the asics coming out at 250 mh. alphat will soon release its 600 mh.

Where did you hear that? They have a 16Mh/s and 90Mh/s miners supposedly coming out.

The KNC Titian with 300MH. I plan on getting one of these. But no telling when they will deliver.

I think it all depends on how long you give yourself to ROI. Electricity on those things are cheap. I gave myself 1 yr for ROI. But i'm not in this for daily profit. I'm looking down the line at the long term success of crypto currency. In my case I have a 2yr plan to hold all the BTC I collect scrypt mining.

I can't seem to get more than 7 units accepting shares with rasp pi +cgminer and a sabrent 13 port hub...always 7 units only anyone know solution

I hear people having success using a 10 port hub. But there are problems using over 10 ports. I'm using the cubieboard2 and two sabrent 13 port adapters with 25 gridseed. It can see all the devices. Try the below link for supported powered usb hubs. Good luck.

Dude I just paid almost double just a couple weeks ago. Guess it pays to wait. Lesson learned the hard expensive way. But hey I have my miners and I'm making some coins. So just a longer wait to ROI.

I received my order on Friday 3/28. It took around 2 days to my door step.

Great to hear that.
DHL was really fast. 2 days from China to US (door to door) is impressive.

haha if it sounds too good to be true... 2 days huh, you got through those famously slow Chinese customs very quickly

You jumped into my topic again? Shame on you, liar.

stop calling people liars you imbecile. I am just making a fair warning to other members of this community. Live with it until somebody with an account older than a month buys your product.

My account is new and I don't have much rep around here. But I am no liar. See the picture linked below.7 boxes 2 days from China to the San Francisco area. You two competitors should stop fighting on the forum. Its bad for business. Huh Wink

Has anyone done a wire transfer with these guys? I'm trying to complete a wire transfer order but my Bank requires the receivers name and personal address. JustASIC only provides the below information. I have everything but the personal address which is required by my bank. I emailed JustASIC and they replied that clients have made successful wire transfers without this information. So please advise if you done this before and what information did your bank require?

Thanks for your order, payment cleared in 1 day, miners shipped. please check email for DHL tracking number.

I would like to report that JustASIC contacted me and quickly resolved my issue. Funds were successfully transferred and I now have a tracking number for my shipment. They were very good with communicating and keeping me posted every step of the way. Highly recommended!

This is a good price. But you need to do more to convince the buyers on this forum. How about video of your stock? Or better how about some escrow?

I had major problems with my Pi's power and using the USB ports.  First it started to lose the ethernet connection, then it would just start shutting down and rebooting.  I ditched the whole controller and bought myself a Cubietruck and could not be happier.  It had built in wifi and so far so good running 20 gridseeds.

Thanks for the tip. The Cubieboard2 looks like a safer option. I would hate to buy several Raspberry Pi and discover that it doesn't work with two 13 port usb hubs.

Huh Huh Huh Heeeelp!

Hi.

Two days ago I got a Gridseed 5 chips miner. I tried almost everything, but my computers don't recognise the miner. On Win7 Ult x64 I get always 'USB device not recognised'. I tried to install the two different type of drivers mentioned in various fora and blogs, I tried to substitute them using Zadig. Nothing worked.
Then I tried under MacOS 10.9. Same result.

Has somebody an idea? I have three graphics cards, a BlockErupter USB miner and a BFL 25 GH/s miner all working perfectly. But this Gridseed miner I driving me crazy!!!

Every idea is welcome.

Bye
lcettuzzi

Did you try this?

I'm planing my Gridseed farm setup. Can someone tell me if this will work? I want to attached 20x Gridseed to 1x RasPi. I will be using 2x Roswell (RHB-500) 10 port USB hubs. But I would also like to use a usb wifi adapter. Will the following non powered USB splitter work? Assuming I hook up the the wifi adapter and 1x 10 port usb hub to 1 USB 2.0 port on the RasPi. The other 10 port usb hub will plug directly into the 2nd usb 2.0 port on the RasPi. My alternative would be to get a wireless bridge and hook up a Ethernet hub. But my preference would be to use a mini wifi adapter.

10 Port USB Hub (Powered):
http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-10-Port-High-Speed-RHB-500/dp/B004F38WT4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395598321&sr=8-1&keywords=roswell+usb+hub

3 Port USB Splitter (Non-Powered):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-USB-2-0-Hi-Speed-4-Port-Splitter-Hub-For-PC-Notebook-/370896703254?pt=US_USB_Cables_Hubs_Adapters&hash=item565b2a8f16

Get a 13-port hub and a 10-port hub, and don't use the splitter. Or get two 13-port hubs, in case you want to connect a few more donuts later. The goal is to keep max 2 levels of daisy-chained hubs, and any hub with >7 ports already has 2 levels inside.

Thanks can you recommend a 13 port hub that works with Raspberry Pi?

Re: Mining and Electrical Fires
by

I almost had a fire. One of my Gigabyte R9 270s stopped working. The riser cable attached got really hot and melted. Lucky I caught the burning smell before more damage or a full blown fire occurred.

Did the device have adequate ventilation?  What temp was the device running at on a regular basis?  How long did the device last?

The card never ran over 77C. But I purchased it used so who knows how many miles were on the card. Problem was when it stopped working I should have just unplugged. I left it attached to the riser.
