The problem is amd driver, you can mine a 30mhs in linux with claymore 14.7 and hive os
give us  a screenshot for r9 390 in ETC/ETH with 30M/h

He is actually correct, and I didn't know it either but apparently with the R9 290/390 you can mine at 30MH/s again if you do it with certain drivers, OS, and mining software.

I had a similiar issue where I used to mine 30MH/s with my R9 290 since 2016 and in 2018 it started to slow down to like 20MH/s before I shut it off. I assumed it was some DAG thrashing bug and just unplugged it.

However there is another thread going on in this category of mining where people were able to mine with their Hawaii GPUs again at 30MHs. However you can't do it on Windows. So search the forums if you need instructions on how to do it.

But keep in mind the GPU will use at least 200 Watts of power.

Could you share the link of the other thread? I didnt find it, thanks

Question, please advice?

I am running Phoenixminer (lastest version), I had reported 165/2/64 shares however no ones of the gpus reported incorrect shares, only the phoenixminer summary and of course the hashrate at the pool is low, what could cause this? How do I troubleshoot this? is this is related with too much OC although the gpus are not reporting incorrect shares?

Thanks in advance for your advice

Edit: pool is ethermine.org         OC core 1220 mem 2140, I am using -robost 30 hashrate 30.5 gpus 580s 8g
What drivers?
I am using smos (linux distro) 4.17.19-smos15 / AMD 18.20

Merry Christmas everyone,

First, thanks to Claymore for this new update.

Second and last, why people talk about loyalty, I am still using claymore in all my rigs, if the market is not good enough right now this is a complete different issue, so I appreciatte all you guys keep in crypto world.

I am losing hashrate on R9 390, I used to mine at 31MHs at 1140/1250 under linux, now I just get 26.8MHs, is this normal due the DAG file size? or kernels tweaks decrease the hashrate of the R9 390? I tried with -oldkernels and -asm 0 but nothing, under windows I can get 30.5MHs, any thoughts?

Thanks

You should be able to rename the folder with the current version in the miner folder on ethOS. Then create a new folder with the same name, add the v11.9 files and run sudo chmod +x on ethdcrminer64 to make it executable.

Done, its working now on 11.9, thanks you for your response.

v11.9:
- fixed issue with incorrect shares for Keccak.
are there any minor updates except for Keccak? I mean is there a reason to update solo rigs?

No reasons to update if v11.8 is good for you, the only difference between 11.8 and 11.9 is Keccak fix.

Anyone knows how to update to 11.9 on ethos? I asked on theirs support channel but I only got "it will update in a couple of days", today I asked again and I got "dont do that" from some colaborator, unfortunately since kotarius leave ethos devs team its not the same Sad

Thanks to anyone could help me to update to 11.9, I am a dual miner since day one, thanks claymore for your miner.

just use update-miner claymore should work.

No, because they have not update the version of this miner in theirs repository otherwise yes with update-miner claymore would be enough

AMD cards that are BIOS modded definitely use oldkernels
AMD cards that are overclocked right on the edge might need oldkernels

Go ahead and try new kernels. With everything the same as before. If theres any instability or increase in rejected/incorrect do not bother underclocking just go straight to oldkernels.

The main difference between the two I've found is you don't get the fluctuating hash rate with the newer ones.  So if you can get away using them do it.

That's my story and I am sticking to it.

Weird, I just upgraded to 11.5 my two rigs (rx480 and rx570) and both increase hashrate, and both have mod bios and both are stable without using oldkernels under linux.

At the moment, what is the best Verge pool? Or are they all still shit?

NLPool - Died
Uni - Stealing Hashrate
Antmining - Profit was low

Are they still the same, or have any of them improved?

You can try: http://xvgminingclub.info/

Did the same as you (tested all those pools) then I found out those guys. Really nice and friendly. Hope they get more hash.  Smiley

nl improved a lot

Ya, nlpool seens estable but 2h for a blok :$ need a litlle more Ghs

Need to teste then again

That's normal. It takes more time but you earn the same. In a bigger pool you receive more payouts but 2 hours later you get the same on every pool. Ofc, without using fees, and what they steal and etc as a variable.

And at least they dont steal miners.

I tested nlpool yesterday, after 24h of mining no block were found or at least show in my account, so I move to another pool. Something it is not working well at nlpool, maybe they need more time, at the begining I found very good performance but now its not the same.

There is a factor of luck already explained by the admin of the pool. Today pool can mine 5 blocks instead of 10 that should mine, but tomorrow can mine 20. It's all about patience.

Do the comparation with others pool, its the same factor of luck which apply to all pool not only to nlpool. BTW, atm antminepool is working well.

all these pools are trash the http://mine.nlpool.nl , been up and down all day , crashing my damn rigs with thier bull shit

umining are straight up thieves , somone like nanopool needs to start a legit pool

Probably rival pools are dns attacking nlpool. Best thing right now is solo mining until a good pool like nanopool adds xvg.

People instead of blaming it, then go only for ETH, nlpool is a new pool and its doing a good job, so if you dont have patience then dont even try to mine on a new pool. NLPOOL should open a new thread and leave this one for Claymore miner related.

2 mine_phun
What about "orphan" blocks?

There is a topic about Orphan blocks already on this forum.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=940943.0

The conclusion comes down to: low difficulties ( Like with XVG coin ) + Big hashrates = Orphans ( +/- Duplicate block elsewhere found on the planet at the same time )

It is on our monitor and we are watching it closely. In anyway, other pools experience the same, it's just a matter of luck (or not) and over a period of days it will level out. Secondly, we are far from loss. The pool is running about 135% of what you should get, with orphans.

mine_phun, as advice; why you do open a new thread for nlpool, we are so interested in XVG that we are using Claymore forum to discuss XVG issue? just my 2 cents

There's no good pool for XVG? Unimining gives about 40% of what it should give...EVEN IF Whattomine is not full accurate, the diference is too Huge...With 4600MH/s im getting only 12, 13 coins/day.

Antminepool doesnt work here on the last 5 or 6 days...instant disconnect on both ports.

You can use NLpool.nl now ... working and fast.

The address for XVG VERGE - Blake2s is:
stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -u -p c=XVG

The address for Shield Blake2S is:
stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -u -p c=XSH

If you have any questions or other coins you want added to the pool please e-mail us. The e-mail address is displayed on our website nlpool.nl

Example .bat :

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us2.ethermine.org:14444 -ewal -epsw x -gser 1 -lidag 1 -r 1 -dcri 40 -cclock 1150 -mclock 2125 -dpool stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -dwal -dcoin blake2s -dpsw c=XVG

mine_phun keep you good work, apply some fees to your pool, nothing is free. Claymore thanks for keeping devs on your miner.

YES - Mine with NLPOOL
KOREPOOL - switch all to NLPOOL.
too much of small pools.

We need 2-5 TH, and then we have 1-2 blocks per hour, which is quite ok.

I just put 40 GH on nlpool. Works fine, i could suggest to start with higher diff - at least 10 or so.
Cause in the beggining there was a flood of shares ;-)

now the diff adjusted and is beetween 35 and 56.

What we need now is more hashpower so we can catch some blocks.

I did swap 2 RIGs on nlpool and I will swap 5 more.
If works decent, I will add 11 more RIGS.

Let's see.
i mining in NLPOOL 12 hours and my balance 0.00000 i think its scam
and the miners continue to leave NLPOOL

False I am mining on nlpool for 24 hours without any problem, dont scam

Dear all,

Let me first say that i am very sorry that it took so long to get our pool NLpool.nl working correctly. When we put it online last weekend i thought that the software YIIMP was easy and ready to work, without bugs. I couldn't have been more wrong.

However, we worked hard last days and solved all issues we found, so the NLpool.nl is now up and working correctly.
I am very grateful to the people around here on this forum who borrowed us some hash power to be able to find blocks and debug.
As everything now works correct the first blocks were found and payouts are running smoothly.

As stated before the pool is located in Amsterdam. This gives you an advantage if you don't want stale shares because of latency and if you want a fast server.

As compensation for the last days and lost blocks we will keep the transaction fees at 0% for the next weeks.

The address for XVG VERGE - Blake2s is:
stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -u -p c=XVG

The address for Shield Blake2S is:
stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -u -p c=XSH

If you have any questions or other coins you want added to the pool please e-mail us. The e-mail address is displayed on our website nlpool.nl

I added one miner, I will test it before move my others rigs, unimining gave me only one have of whattomine said so it is not good. I hope your pool increase hash to have an alternative. Thanks

I am dual mining under linux without any problem, however I faced a couple of time a strange behavior. When my decred pool is down or a connectivity issue is present the entire miner stop mining, my rig is up and accessible via ssh but the miner stop hashing on both coins, this is a "by design" behavior or is there any option I missed that allow the to keep mining ETH and do nothing with decred meantime the connectivity issue persist?

Thanks for your inputs.

Can someone actually tell me how to use this miner? Like...there is no proper guide for it...cant even figure how to run it.

1.- Download from Mega
2.- Uncompress to a specific folder
3.- Edit your start.bat
4.- Double click on start.bat and thats it

Examples of start.bat on OP. For more complex config use config file. I am running one r9 390 at 32.3 totally stable at -dcri 31

Newbie question, I have several rigs on linux running claymore without any problem, however I just install claymore on my PC and I cannot modify the gpu mem or core voltage on a R9 390 Powercolor 8G but I can OC the core via -cclock. Is this normal? I read on the web that I can change mem and undervolt using MSI AB but my card dont want to take the underclock. I am using Crisom 15.12. In the OP say that AMD block underclocking so that the reason for claymore miner to not accept -mclock but using MSI AB should I can?

Thanks

Not sure if it's part of the stability problems or not but my miner on my 4x470 rig keeps crashing. The EthDcrMiner64.exe keeps crashing, it's just the miner.

PC doesn't freeze etc.

Is this a bad card acting up or stability issues in 9.x?

did you try decrease -ethi? in OP said when windows freeze try to lower -ethi
