Yup, its compiler specific how operator ">>=" is implemented, so maybe lil bit more accurate defining is needed.

SUBSIDY_FUNC=lambda height: 0.25*1000000 >> (height + 1)//1051200,
so its  'block reward' * 'satoshies' >> (height + 1)//'height where block halves'.

you only need get_subsudy func is theres some special way how the blocks rewards is calculated.

I'm been quite busy at work, so haven't had time to do anything with this, but this is my next project (miner and pool). If someone else is not on this.

Also I would use http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expected_value
for the coins with variable coin subsidy, imo its somewhat "stupid" to have some coins jump up and down the charts.

ps. I guess, sal002 you could remove hypercoin since its unminable (blockchain has been stuck for ages)

First, orphan rate is so high that there won't be anywhere close to 512 million.
Orphans doesnt affect coin cap anyway, the block created just isnt in main blockchain.

The p2p pool is down?
since source is up, and I'm really fed up with this project (p2pool project i mean). Im taking the pool down, I need the hardware elsewhere atm. Theres atleast 2 dudes who have been asking for the source, so I guess theres gonna be p2pool up soon.

Ok, thanks. Another dumb question: How do I mine it with CPUs?
I guess you can find one somewhere earlier in the posts. (prolly win64 only)

Coin just is too fast to get stale rates at any proper rate, maybe if we could triple lightspeed or sommit would help.
since source is up, and I'm really fed up with this project (p2pool project i mean). Im taking the pool down, if someone else wants trouble, can host one of these.

source is up, project was a bitch. Solutions were easy, finding them wasn't.
guugll you can debug next pool that doesnt work out of the box, or go fuckyourself rollingeyes.

p2pool source is now at:
https://github.com/urpoapina/cpr-p2pool.git

mine is running in EU so maybe pools at another continents would be nice addition.
Theres some problems for every share to get propagated because coin is just damn fast. I had to lower sharing time to 1 secs because otherwise slower pools wouldnt have any payout whatsoever.

on side note: with current rate of CPR all the debugging etc netted me around $3 wuhuu (prolly not enought to pay even the electricity)

p2pool back online, now with upgraded hardware

Could I get a link to the p2pool-cpr source? I think I'd get less rejects with a local node...

Pushing source into github is second in my priority list atm, it requires cleaning and lil tweaking, but I'll try to get it done today.

p2pool fee is 3.5%

PLZ notice

its setup to run with -f 1 (1% fee), reason for it to go up and down is beyond me (its akwardly calculated from shares, and not as fixed percentage).
python just is BS in projects like this. I don't have time to rewrite whole concept with c++ with proper DB Sad

all Bitcoin ASIC companies had to derive their works from existing the current SHA-2 ASICs, starting from scratch would have cost far more than the Bitcoin economy could have supplied, and far more than ASIC companies could afford to spend at their current price points. Its like if current ASIC companies decided to start using 14nm chips. It would be unimaginably expensive to create a technology that doesn't exist yet, its far cheaper to modify existing designs.

Starting from scratch is equally expensive, FYI your analogy is totally wrong. They didnt create or modify any 'technology' for the their asics, its matter of coding and tools.
next time try using google first before "I'd say its a pretty strong gut feeling."

even reading simple wiki article helps,

Re: STAR COIN [STR] - The coin with bonus STAR blocks
by
minerapia
on 30/08/2013, 07:22:11 UTC
My pool is 1000 blocks ahead on a different chain. Someone's pulling shenanigans.

I was able to restart the daemon after a few attempts and it processed the funky blocks, back at a normal block height now. I assume the attack isn't over however.

SetBestChain: new best=5af8c2c1f4d54cf07b25  height=91906  trust=49587556456  date=08/24/13 07:19:30

There's no attack afaik, reason for these blockchain forks is that PoS is broken. It generates blocks that arent accepted by whole network, thus generating private or semi-private blockchains.

Re: SecureCoin is taking the Cryptoworld by storm!
by

on 29/08/2013, 20:23:48 UTC
Yesterday, the time was finally there. After being announced for a few weeks now, Baritus (the creator of DigitalCoin) introduced us to his newest creation : SecureCoin.

This coin is meant to be mined on CPU’s only, either with the regular cpuminer, or the QuarkCoin miner. No word on any GPU support, but i’m fairly certain we might never see it being mined on GPU’s.

The unique part about this coin is that it consists of several algorithms, which are : Grøstl, Skein, BLAKE, BLUE MIDNIGHT WISH, JH and SHA-3. Some of these names may sound familiar to you , because this coin lends some of the concepts from other coins. This list includes YaCoin (YAC), SIF, Digitalcoin(DGC) and, of course, Bitcoin(BTC).

Read more here: http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2013/08/29/securecoin-is-taking-the-cryptoworld-by-storm-by-jdebunt/

Quarkcoin allready has gpu miner fyi. Its just not released (or atleast one dude claims he has one)

Dunno whats broken, havent have time to look at it any closer, but if the guy whose supposed to fix it is on vacation, coin is kinda screwed meanwhile

Code:
REORGANIZE
REORGANIZE: Disconnect 1983 blocks; 000000017187f2d40de8..a35dab9fffcb1b14c8e6
REORGANIZE: Connect 211 blocks; 000000017187f2d40de8..bd7e0d645b4564c29069
etc....

As I said before I wouldn't recommend mining this, only god knows what happens within blockchain.

Im gonna take the pool down for a maintenance in an hour or so, make sure that you got failover setted. Upgrading some hardware on the pool, I would expect it to take 30 minutes.

Pools back online now.
