Re: A new type of wallet - delayed multisig
by

You would have a different wallet for that. So you would transfer from your delayed multisig wallet into your instant hot wallet as much as you think you might need in the next couple of hours.

If you allowed special 'fast' address, the hacker could just do the same.

No, because You will only have private keys for this address. I mean this private key should be not stored with private keys of multisignature wallet.

I think this is great idea!

I will add that there should be multisignature delayed wallets with included special "fast" address, where out transactions will be processed in normal way, fast and one-signature.
Such address will be helpful if You would like to make quick transfer of Your coins.

Bitcoin's Savings and Trust, a stock which will open on the NASDAQ under the ticker name "Coin" produced by the Winklevoss twins has submitted new documents to the SEC, which became public documents and thus allows us to see how many shares and at what total market value, they are looking at selling.

can't wait to see Winky's symbol on NASDAQ

Re: Losing 1000+ bitcoins per day ? How can that go unnoticed ?
by

I think that nothing was stolen. Mark for some reasons needs to shut down exchange immediately.
Maybe it was case with SilkRoad? Maybe with MSB in USA ? Maybe other things.
Mark needs to create new exchange without past problems (new GOX). But how to make it? Hmmm we can see now how Mark is playing with public. This is his way to full rebranding. Or even better, it is creation totally new business from roots.
He said, cold storage is not missing but temporary unavailable (what does it means?) With cold storage situation is binary (0,1). He lost his cold storage or he didn't. There is no such think like temporary unavailable. So Mark is cheating like a sissy girl . It is for sure!
He want to make new exchange. So his intentions are good. I think that he will return all BTC through new GOX. For new GOX he will find mysterious investor. In fact there will be no investors at all (Mark is too danger right now). But... he have users money and BTC. By using this money and BTC he will stimulate new exchange.

Re: DNS for Bitcoin (BNS)
by

I had a similar idea, its basically some kind of authority that says a certain bitcoin address is associated with a person similar to SSL certs. You would also have to allow switching through bitcoin addresses as more than one transaction can occur at the same time and I don't believe its safe to assume that customers can be identified by the sending address as some web wallets don't use consistent addresses.

I agree with You. You will never be identified by sending address. It is not a point. My point was to recognize recipient address (not sender).
My intention was to proof that particular recipient address/user/company is correct and safe.

Such DNS (BNS) domain system could be a base to governments. There will be possible to create very secure system which will be used with cooperation with governments.
Simply, in the basis of such system, governments could make agreement with companies that every registered taxable company should use only domain recipient addresses to make bitcoin/altcoin transactions.
Because of that, governments (and everyone) could quickly check/monitor how many tax particular company should pay...
I think that such system MUST be create to survive bitcoin and to make wide world acceptation it (including China).

Of course person to person transaction shouldn't be monitored and not force to use DNS (BNS).
But it is okay for governments, because their citizens are making personal paper money transaction everyday - and it is ok...

I think that my idea will help a lot to Bitcoin acceptance.

DNS for Bitcoin (BNS)
by

I was thinking about creating nameserver for Bitcoin (Bitcoin Name Server).
It will be working similar to standard DNS with exception that it will resolve names to bitcoin address.
It will be not necessary to write down or copying long addresses anymore.
You will pay your coin by sending them to e.g. amazon.bitcoin.pay , patrik.users.ebay.pay.....
Servers will be managed by dedicated organisation (like for standard DNS) and You will buy domains from them.
It will help to recognize company or person. It will be also better for anti fraud actions, because there will be need identification of company/person while registering domain.
I know that bitcoin is anonymous but a lot of companies will be happy, because customer will be not afraid of fraud while buying.
It will help a lot of bitcoin trust.

Of course there will be possible to create domain e.g litecoin.pay  for others alts...
Also bitcoin clients needs to support such feature.

What do You think about such idea guys ?
