Re: EDUCATING PEOPLE ABOUT CRYPTOCURRENCY
by
muddy waters
on 01/11/2018, 17:49:53 UTC
If you take an assessment, a lot of citizens are not yet informative what is cryptocurrency is....like bitcoin and other altcoins. One proof is that others can be deceived by swindlers because of lack of knowledge regarding crypto currencies. . They invest with the wrong people because of considering in unfounded information and hearsays.
Educating people regarding crypto will not make them to mislead. Educators can teach about crypto inside school especially in economic subject/s because it has a big role nowadays.
As Tom Emmer stated, “ People tend to fear what they don’t know. If people sailing the oceans at the time of Columbus had believed the world is flat, we wouldn’t have had the great discoveries of the New World.”

There are tons of articles on the Internet, forums, YouTube videos and Telegram groups describing what crypto is and assisting to get the basics of crypto investing and trading. If one experiences the lack of knowledge in this sphere, why couldn't he just google the necessary info and make at least a primitive analysis of what he learnt? Or course, I do support the introduction of specialized crypto-related subjects at schools and universities, but we should remember that all the necessary information already floats and awaits for us around the Internet.

Re: Is It Possible that The Moslem Countries Can Accept The CryptoCurrencies System?
by
muddy waters
on 01/11/2018, 17:10:56 UTC
In the Moslem Countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates even Brunei Darussalam etc were enacted Islamic Economy System based on sharia. Is It Possible that The Moslem Countries can accept the cryptocurrencies system in their economic system? What's your opinion?
What is crypto in general? It was created as an attempt to escape total control of banks and governments. Contrary to that, Muslim culture  is all about control (control of thoughts, actions, Internet... and finance). If the sharia laws become more liberal, cryptocurrencies could be among the first things to be widely accepted by the Muslims. I don't know when this is likely to happen, but the general worldwide trend is "more freedom and less regulation", so in the nearest future we can witness more Arabic investors on crypto market.

Re: Video call for KYC verification
by
muddy waters
on 31/10/2018, 20:50:57 UTC
Video call for kyc verification?? Is it possible? Do you think it is the best way , rather than uploading your documents for kyc verification process? Most bounty campaigns and ICOs nowadays required a kyc.

If video call for Kyc verification is possible, what is the best and secure app to you use for video call
I once had to undergo Skype video call after I uploaded my documents for KYC - the project needed additional verification of authenticity of investors. I answered several simple questions regarding my date of birth, age, place of residence and showed my passport. That was absolutely simple and took about 10 minutes.
On the other hand, such a video KYC procedure needs additional efforts of the project's employees who will need to be paid for their time spent in front of the camera. So I'm not sure projects will widely accept this method of verification.

Re: Do you think this year will be bad year for ICOS?
by
muddy waters
on 31/10/2018, 20:31:06 UTC
Do you have any good reason to believe that the ICO market is going to grow this year?
This spring and summer so many ICOs were conducted that it was hard to set the priorities of where to invest. However, even despite the fact that most of them reached hard caps the market suddenly crashed and the greatest majority of tokens dropped several times below ICO price. This is the case when number of projects did not provide for their quality. I think that we will witness this decline until the end of 2018 with a possible market recovery in first quarter of 2019.

Re: Future of crypto is good or bad?
by

on 31/10/2018, 20:16:09 UTC
I want to invest my savings into cryptocurrency. So I am thinking about the future of cryptocurrency. What do you think? Do you think the future or cryptocurrency is good? Or do you think, the future or cryptocurrency is bad?
Please help me, because I am going to invest all of my savings. So if I make a bad decision me and my family will be on the street.
I tend to think that the future of crypto is good and it will be highly demanded for financial transactions and processing big data in several years.
It is hard to say, which exactly coins will be the most popular apart from bitcoin, so if you plan to invest all your savings I would recommend not playing with alts but investing only in btc.

Re: Why all people moan about the price of bitcoin?
by
muddy waters
on 30/10/2018, 18:17:58 UTC
The forum is full of topics - “When Will Bitcoin Be Back To $...”, “Why BTC is under $...?”, “Final bottom at $...”, “Why BTC is down again?”, “Bitcoin will rise again ?” etc. The last two topics may appear in various forms  a dozen times a day.
I looked at graph price of BTC out of curiosity. I have noted to the price floor:

2015 - $200+
2016 - $300+
2017 - $700+
2018 - $5000+

Most topics with people moaning about the price of btc were created in 2018 after the big bull run has already ended and investors who were late could not take advantage of rapidly growing value of bitcoin. Of course it is tempting to buy btc at $6,500 and sell it at $16,500 - that's actually why people are so eager for btc (and other alts) to break t least the current price floor and skyrocket to $20k again.

Re: Why spend time in bitcoins?
by
muddy waters
on 30/10/2018, 17:59:02 UTC
We all experience being financially challenged and we cannot deny that money makes us revolve around it. When we find ways to alleviate our financial suffering, we stand our ground and spend so much effort just to see the result and of course, benefit from it. Do you think that spending time and effort to gain bitcoins is a rational idea? Do you think that you could've been wasting your time? Let me know about your thoughts.
It is rather easy to calculate how much time was spent on earning one's bitcoins and get the average monthly income provided these btc were sold at current prices.
I'm sure most traders and miners will say that the time spent was worth it, and btc (or other alts) gave them pretty nice profit during the last bull run. Anyway, trading crypto is the main "job" for many people, so they do not have the alternative but to improve their trading skills and do research on new more economical ways of mining.

Re: Many think crypto is dead. It is not.
by

on 30/10/2018, 17:39:24 UTC
I keep reading some really desperate people on a forum (other than this one) and they seem sure that crypto is dead, because it is scam etc.

Crpyto is not dead. Don't be stupid. HODL.
Aha, several years ago people also thought that bitcoin was a scam and bought pizza for several thousand btc. Look what happened now - bitcoin is the most valued method of payment in the world costing several thousand US dollars. I'm sure some other coins that people hold will also be highly valued in some time, so I personally am holding my current portfolio.

Re: How was your experience in joining bounty or airdrop?
by
muddy waters
on 29/10/2018, 23:53:00 UTC
Hey everyone!

I am very new to joining airdrops. I just wanna know if you had experience joining into some ICOs but did not receive your expected tokens? Or what was your first tokens that you received?

My first received token was very rewarding experience, still counting other and tracking my airdrops atm.

Can you share some of your experiences about this matter?

thank you!
I prefer not wasting my time on airdrops because most of the free tokens are not even worth the fee to send them to exchange.
Bounties have also become less profitable - many of them are extended and some projects are shifting ICO for several months, which means that you will get your tokens later than expected.
The biggest problem is that most bounty tokens are worth almost nothing - some of them lose more than a half of their value when bounty hunters get their rewards.

Re: Why Government does not like crypto?
by
muddy waters
on 29/10/2018, 23:27:00 UTC
Cryptocurrency is the most popular terms nowadays. People like cryptocurrency so much. Many people are involving in the crypto world. Everyone wants to earn money from cryptocurrency. While people are liking cryptocurrency, Government does not like it at all. In some countries, the government banned the cryptocurrency. What is the reason behind this banned?
It's all about control - governments don't like when financial operations are anonymous and untrackable.
Moreover, cryptocurrencies are frequently used for illegal operations like buying weapons and drugs and this gives the governments the additional headache.
On the whole, I support some governments' initiatives to introduce more control to crypto market (especially with respect to ICOs), because otherwise this market will remain as chaotic as it is now.

Re: Is bounty profitable?
by
muddy waters
on 28/10/2018, 20:52:33 UTC
Hey guys. I’m in crypto sphere for about 1 year, not a lot but still I’m not a newbie. I participated in a lot of bounties, I have about 30-50 tokens on my wallet, and I still earned not more than 1000$. This is ridiculous! Tokens can’t list on exchange. That’s why I want to ask you. How much did you earn on bounty?
I don't think anybody would tell you how much they earn on bounties - it should be a strictly confidential info.
Though from what I can see bounty earnings are around 10 times less than they used to be in late 2017-early 2018 due to the fact that most tokens are sold at lower prices than ICO price.
It is really ridiculous to earn just a $1,000 over the whole year by doing all that stuff in signatures and social media. Maybe you just didn't spend enough time to analyze the projects you worked for..

Re: Is there any chance of having one global currency?
by
muddy waters
on 28/10/2018, 16:45:14 UTC
Could you see a future wherein the entire world shares one global currency, be it fiat or crypto? If I think it in a scifi kind of way, it would most probably be some digital currency that could all just use. It doesn't even have to be in this century. Maybe the next?
Crypto doesn't have any chance to become global currency in this century since the people's ties with traditional fiat money are too close. All banking systems with millions of their transactions are bound to fiats, these systems have become convenient and familiar to so many customers that I wonder what could make them shift to crypto? Anyway, if this happens it will take many decades - I don't think I will witness the victory march of cryptocurrencies during my lifetime.

Re: Sick and tired of the cryptocurrency bullshit!!!
by
muddy waters
on 28/10/2018, 16:21:23 UTC
Warning! Ranting ahead!

I am getting really pissed at the state of the markets. Despite positive news, the market is still pissing blood. Why?

Tons of videos on YouTube over and over again and again, hyping the crap out of this or that coin, anticipating something. But what for. The prices are not moving up when they should be.

Why should the prices be moving up now? What are the positive news you are talking about? Any breakthrough project has just presented its breakthrough product? They are just promising that they will create their main net in bla-bla quarter 2019. The road maps are shifted to several months, almost all long-awaited ICOs are moved to 2019. So I really don't understand why this stable downtrend pisses you off so much - it is natural and, in fact, should have been predicted by crypto followers.

Re: China can destroy bitcoin
by
muddy waters
on 25/10/2018, 13:21:36 UTC
very interesting when we hear that academics from Princeton University and academics from the University of Florida have concluded that China has the potential to threaten stability, internet infrastructure, security and bitcoin development.

in the world of mining, China dominates using ASIC vendors. China controls mining hashrate, so they affect the bitcoin protocol.

Is there a solution to stop that potency  ?
The only way out I can see is to create a more powerful (international?) union of miners and thus counterbalance the might of China. Such countries like India and Canada, as well the West European region with relatively low fees for electricity could be the core of such an "organization". And again, there should be some international regulation pertaining mining that is conducted on an industrial scale.

Re: Cryptocurrency to be Taught in Schools?
by
muddy waters
on 25/10/2018, 12:18:01 UTC
Hi guys!
I'm pretty sure that many of you have been experiencing difficulty on making other people aware of cryptocurrency and how it works, right? I myself find it hard to explain it even to my own family. Once you mention it to them, the first thing that comes to their mind is that it's a scam. Can't blame them though because the news about crypto scams are always hyped in social media and believe me, even my 70 year old mom has Facebook!

Anyway, I realized that this is the case because there has never really been any formal education about it at all. We knew about it only thru word of the mouth right and we only got to learn it slowly thru experience. This said, I'm thinking, what if it's taught in schools? Perhaps just start with those taking Accountancy or Banking and Finance courses to begin with, then eventually incorporate it to Mathematics subject or whatever in High School? After all, they were able to do that with banking, right? Why not with cryptocurrency? What do you think?
Crypto is a relatively new technology that's why it is given less attention than traditional disciplines like the above mentioned banking.
I would suggest giving the basics of blockchain and cryptocurrencies within the scope of computer literacy course, and if there are students highly interested in it make the advanced crypto-related course.

Re: Is it worth the work and waiting?
by
muddy waters
on 25/10/2018, 11:50:30 UTC
So you have being wearing a signature for more that ten weeks. Each week you made more than 15 post on different thread on this forum. And just when you done with the campaign you have been asked to keep the signature for three more weeks while wait for stakes to be calculated. After stakes are calculated, it takes more than 3+ weeks for tokens to arrive in your wallet. and a month for the token to go on exchange. On exchange, all your token is worth for your hard work is just less than $50.
How do you feel?
How will you react?
That's why I try choosing campaigns that last for not more than 6-8 weeks (though some of them are being extended, but that's another question). Thanks God all the bounties I've participated in took not more than a week to calculate stakes - it's a kind of a mini-vacation before entering the next campaign.

Re: how to help people who have problem economic
by
muddy waters
on 24/10/2018, 08:51:14 UTC
hello member of the bitcoin forum, Smiley
I'm confused and looking for answers about how to help people who are having economic problems,

are there any of us in this forum who have a good heart to help the economy of fellow human beings,

can opening new jobs reduce unemployment and improve the economy?
Of course new jobs are improving the economic state of people, and crypto in this way is a treasure trove  for those who are active and willing to work. It offers numerous opportunities from bounty hunting/management to being a community manager or a part of development team. Yes, it is not so easy to get the idea of crypto for a newbie, but if one is persistent he would get to know the basics of trading and projects promotion in a very short time.

Re: Is cryptocurrency help to expand the world business?
by
muddy waters
on 24/10/2018, 08:31:47 UTC
Now a days business and product is for all. Every country exchange their core product with other countries to meet theit demand. What you think Is cryptocurrency help to expand the world business?
If talking about core products of countries, I've never seen oil and gas, for example, being traded for cryptocurrency. Other goods like machinery, weapons and technologies are also sold for traditional currencies only. Crypto can be used in small-to-medium business activities, but not on a large scale - in this way, global trade is currently not largely affected by crypto and blockchain and will not be in the nearest ~5 years.

Re: It can still happen again
by
muddy waters
on 24/10/2018, 08:20:31 UTC
I was just thinking and imagining the bull run that happen toward the end of last year when the crypto market became a cake of enjoyment for everyone. The story is on the contrary now. I am wondering and disturbed that can it ever happen again? My wallet coins are reducing in value daily. I am not completely sure if it can happen again.... somehow I still have little believe it may. Do you think it will happen again?
If bull run happened in late 2017 it does not necessarily mean that we will witness another rush at the end of year 2018. I can see that people are gradually escaping from crypto due to various reasons, but mainly because of the lack of patience and necessary trading skills that would guarantee a stable income. Such a decline of interest is definitely no good for the popularity of the market and its ability to recover to more or less stable prices.

Re: Have you been scammed? or almost?
by
muddy waters
on 24/10/2018, 08:12:45 UTC
I almost got scammed on twitter by a fake account. Scammers are setting up fake accounts pretending to be other people/ICO's/Tokens. It's very tricky if you are not paying attention. Make sure you check spelling on all names to be correct. Be careful who you give your info to. Even if it's just your email address. Scammers will not stop scamming so watch out and pay close attention to what you are signing up for. Good Luck everyone and be safe!
It's not only about Twitter. A very big problem nowadays is fake Telegram accounts of projects admins who try to make people send money to fake wallets by promising ICO discounts. No later than yesterday I saw such an example in of the project groups - community member was told that we would get a 40% discount is he sends Eth to the scammer's wallet. Just remember that admins never send pm first unless preliminary agreed.
