I was thinking I am on the Zcash miner thread, apparently I was wrong.  Huh

+1

just comparing profitability and card performances.

I've had a look on pool.to.be.com XMR pool and they have had a massive spike in hashrate.  I wonder if this is due to people moving away from ZEC now that the price has dropped to literally just over $50 a coin?

Is monero now the coin to mine now that ZEC and ETH seem to be in decline (although XMR is not exactly holding its price in the market right now it does seem more stable than those two)?

If the RX 480 gets 800H/s with XMR then mine XMR since its more profitable then ZEC.

https://www.whattomine.com/coins

is XMR more Profitable???

You complain about NEWBIES,  but why mislead them, Huh

Seems more profitable to me. However never knew they could hit 800h/s.

Question is What is it worth to the one that has it and can they hold it until they get the price they want?

Miners can affect the price by not selling until the price goes up imo Huh

Some of these comments are just ridiculous, way too many noobs getting involved in mining.

Yes, Claymore V9 will make ZEC price go up! ZEC Difficulty will go down! Zec block reward will also go up! Because that's the way it works.

Everyone is a Newbie sometime

V9 will increase Network HashRate > Difficulty will go up
Mining software has no affect on Block rewards this is controlled by Coin Developers Algo
Price is not directly affected by the mining software. It is purely Supply and Demand,  If you are willing to sell your coins CHEAP someone will buy them cheaply...

I'm just curious, how did you know then that someone is trying to hack you? And what kind of firewall do you use?

After login was asking about admin password for install 3rd party software, and found was services what was not installed by me, now reinstalling whole rig
I use comodo on rig, and fireeye on nat
what services exactly? we aren't getting closer to the solution, if you don't say exact things. If you are right, I have to find also the same services on my rig.

Can I ask where you downloaded the file from?

There is a fake version of the file someone has put up on mega that is a virus.

The correct address to download from is
GOOGLE: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B69wv2iqszefdmJickl5MF9BOEE?usp=sharing
MEGA: https://mega.nz/#F!P0ZjFDjC!Cmb-ZRqlbAnNrajRtp4zvA

I have been using Claymore's Zec miners from the first version and it has never asked for me to download 3rd party software.

When installing NiceHashes new miner it ask for your confirmation on using 3rd party Claymore miner this is probably what he is talking about???

Is it legal to mine with both amd and nvidia?

To be on topic, I am still mining zec with one gpu (7970), clay 8 works really well.

if not illegal at least immoral, or possibly unethical Huh as mixing red and green would be brown and that is just ( well you know )  Huh

Funny, so I've installed windows on one rig, Win 10 Pro, especialy for Claymore 8 and my 480's and like 10 years go, Win freezes completely on a random basis Smiley

Just one of the many reasons serious miners prefer LINUX.
Why, cause "Linux doesn't freeze"?

 1) LINUX is infinitely more stable than Windows (which isn't saying much).
I have LINUX machines that have run with no outages (hardware failure, shut down to physically MOVE the machine, and power outages excluded) since before Windows XP EXISTED - literally.
The only Windows machine I've EVER had go a year without crashing was a NT 3.51 SP5 machine - vs MORE THAN 20 YEARS for some of my LINUX machines that were running the same user programs.

 2) If you have a power outage, your miner running under Windows won't restart when power comes back on 'till you LOG IN MANUALLY (I have yet to see any miner program that could be run a a service).
LINUX makes it easy to set up so the miner will restart automatically after a power outage.

IMO the only thing Windows has going for it are that the overclock/fan control programs available for it like Afterburner are a lot better.

So you have 20 years of practice and still haven't learned to use search engines? Or linux aces who never update their machines never update their brain content too?
2) BitMoose and/or built in Task Scheduler

Warning: Enable Automatic logon only if you are the sole user of your computer.Your password helps keep your account secure, no matter what PC you sign in to or what apps, settings, and services you use while you're signed in.

1. Right click on Start and select Run, type Netplwiz and then press Enter key.

2. In the resulting User Accounts dialog, select your user account first and then uncheck the option labelled Users

must enter a user name and password to use this computer. Click Apply button to see Automatically sign in

    box.

3. In the Automatically sign in dialog, type your password and then re-enter the password to confirm the same.

4. Click on OK to save the changes.

5. Restart your PC to see your Windows 10 automatically logging into your account without asking you to enter the password.

Put shortcuts for batch files you use to start your miners in this directory : C:\Users\(your user name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

use a timeout command as first line in batch file so windows can get fully loaded and stable before miner is started > like this

timeout 120

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

ZecMiner64.exe -zpool us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 -zwal your t address.worker name -zpsw z ( any command variables you use )

this way if windows restarts for any reason it will log in automatically and start mining after the timeout # of seconds

Earning a little less everyday, added a brand new RX 480 8 GB $249 . Payrate jumped up for about 30 minutes now it is lower than before I added the new card. Went from 1kH/s to 1.2kH/s but now earning less. Is it just down hill from here?

with the slow start now being over I think more people will be switching over. It was mentioned yesterday I believe that the DAG for ETH has got too big now for those using 2GB cards so they will be now moving across to the next most profitable which I do believe is ZEC.

Network Hashrate increase = lower profit for miners???

Did ZEC's difficulty just double? I'm literally submitting half as many shares than I was an hour ago with the same hashrate. Or is it just flypool?

Same here, I could not understand it and then I saw they are showing the shares for less than an hour. Check the bars and you will see the time of each share count. Number of shares PER HOUR is more but they are counting in less than hour blocks ?? Why idk

I was wrong, the less than hour count was only during transition in how the shares are counted Huh

606 shares  2016 - 11 - 25 - 09:09   ( UTC - 06:00 )
601 shares  2016 - 11 - 25 - 10:11   ( UTC - 06:00 )
307 shares  2016 - 11 - 25 - 10:37   ( UTC - 06:00 )

289 shares  2016 - 11 - 25 - 11:52   ( UTC - 06:00 )
299 shares  2016 - 11 - 25 - 12:51   ( UTC - 06:00 )

same for everyone

I am having a bit of trouble running a command in the bat for different intensity levels on 2 cards. One card runs a good bit higher in temp and i wanted to run that at a lower intensity level.

Can someone provide a example command line of how to run two cards on two different intensity levels?

This is what i try but it fails to work right...

ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -zwal miner -zpsw pwpw -r 0 -mport 0 -i 4,0 -1 3,1

Should i put the GPU # before the intensity or what am i doing wrong here?

-i   mining intensity. Possible values: 0...4. 0 - lowest intensity and CPU usage, 4 - maximal intensity. You can also specify values for every card, for example "-i 4,2,4". Default value is "4".

-i  4,2,4  would =  i 4 for gpu0, i 2 for gpu1, i 4 for gpu2

the gpu # are not used in the command   first i# is for gpu0, 2nd i# is for gpu1, and so on

ZecMiner64.exe -zpool zec.suprnova.cc:2142 -zwal miner -zpsw pwpw -r 0 -mport 0 -i 4,3

example  -i 3 = all gpu's intensity 3

if you have 10 gpu's  and you want them all except # 10 to run at intensity 3, and the tenth one to run at intensity 2 = -i 3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,3,2

I do not know how to hook 10 gpu's to one mobo?Huh

-i 3,2,2,3,2,2    1832
