Thanks for all your help:

My virtual memory is already set to 50000 so thats not the issue.

I have ordered some molex powered risers to see if potentially thats the issue.

I have tried using a linux based OS but still get shit combined hashrates.

I am running the cards at stock settings so its not that

I am using a corsiar hx1200 powersupply, i have flicked it to single rail and will report the results. The other information is a bit confusing as i dont know how to manually assign things to specific rails in my psu.

I have tried some testing and it seems my rig just will not go above roughly 750 m/s if i plug 2 cards in, first one will hash at 450 and then next at 300, then if i plug all 4 in they will do some some random arrangement of hash rates to equal roughly 750. Has anyone ever heard of a problem like this?

(REWARD) Cannot get mining rig to be stable or provide a good total hashrate

Hi,
Will give $50 worth of btc to anyone who can help me out. Assembled my 4 x 1070ti mining rig about 3 weeks ago has a 1200w corsair platinum psu, asus h270 plus mobo, 2 x 4g ddr4 ram, running windows 10

So my first problem is when i benchmark each singular gpu on its own i get good hashrates, about 460 m/hs on equihash. But when i run more then one gpu the hashrate of the others drops significantly. When i try run all 4 together i get like 720 m/hs which is trash for all 4 gpus. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the latest drivers for my gpus and a clean install of windows. Does anyone have any tips for this?

My second problem is with all 4 gpus running any mining software i use crashes after a few minutes of mining and just freezes my pc. I tried getting 4g more of ram to bump up my system to 8gb (improved overall stability but still get crashes). I really am stumped here and have no idea what to do with this one, have tried searching through forums but no solution has helped. Thought it was a nicehash issue, then started using nemosminer and mining pool hub. Still crashes and shit hashrates...

So, i think this may be an issue with faulty hardware. My 2 guesses are either my powersupply or my motherboard. I am guessing one of them cant support to provide enough power across the rig with more then 1 gpu. It cant be my gpus because when i plug each in separately  and benchmark them they all give me good hashrates individually. Just not with more then 1 plugged in...

I have spent the past 3 weeks trying to solve this and its doing my head in, alot of lost revenue aswell so if any one has any ideas please let me know.

Thanks,

The thing i liked about getting a daily btc payment was the ability then to reinvest that bitcoin into crypto currencies that i saw value in. wouldnt that be a more efficient way of maximising profit?
No but profit switching is a waste of time anyway. You dont want to mine and convert everything instantly. That is not how you make a profit when GPU mining. You mine a coin you think will be going up in value, then sell when it does. If you are constantly converting you are just throwing away money on the daily basis.

Will nicehash still change algorithms and coins for the most profitable one if run on Linux?
You can mine to nicehash directly with all of the major mining executable on linux. You just dont get the ultra lazy windows front end.

nicehash stability problems and low combined hashrate.

Hey,
I recently got my 4 x 1070ti mining rig up and running on windows 10, but im having some issues with nicehash. When benched marked my gpus are clocking 1.35 mh/s on neoscrypt yet when i run all 4 of them i get a combined rate of 2.7 mh/s. thats the speed i should get with 2 gpus, not 4.

Also nicehash continues to crash and freeze my computer every 2 mins and i have to restart my rig. I tried increasing the virtual memory to 50000 (i only have 4g of ram) and changed my overclock settings back to default. Still freezes constantly when mining.

This all makes me want to change to linux, but i dont have much time to change what i mine every day and end of up having a tonne of random coins. Is there something like nicehash for linux??

Thanks.

Hi,
just started mining and I am having some issues with windows recognising more then 2 of my 1070tis. My motherboard is an asus prime h270 plus. I have tried installing the latest drivers on my cards, enabling 4g encoding on my bios, tried different gpu and riser setups and for some reason windows will only recognise 2/4 gpus. Any tips? Thanks.

Based on my experience windows 10 is working good and not requires any additional bios adjustments with four cards, anything more then that requires some additional steps
so what should you do.
1. update bios of you mainboard and install updates for windows10
2. insert one card, load windows, install drivers
3. shutdown windows, turn off power, and repeat step 2
4. if everything goes smooth - repeat step 3 until you have installed all your cards

didnt think of updating my mobo bios ill try that now and try your steps, thanks for your help.

Titles says it all, i accidentally bought sata powered risers, like these ones https://www.ebay.com.au/i/282754271188?chn=ps. After reading all the warnings of the fire hazard they pose, should i return them and get the 6 pin powered risers, or is there a way to make the sata powered risers safe?

Thanks.

sorry about the link, this is the correct one https://imgur.com/tIn1Dfr. How many of those splitters would i need , just 1?

now that's the right diagram, however its a bit tricky since you will be using splitters to power up GPU PCIe, but still same,

 from the picture at http://www.corsair.com/en-eu/hx-series-hx1200-1200-watt-80-plus-platinum-certified-fully-modular-psu-na

seems you need at least 4 splitters

i have now found a gpu called the Inno3D iChill GeForce GTX 1070 Ti X3 8GB that i will probably use now for its cooling, it uses a 8 pin power, do i still need the splitter?

Hi, My first rig build is going to be: GPU: 6 x Galax GeForce GTX1070Ti EX Sniper White 8GB GDDR5

CPU:Intel Celeron G3900 Dual Core LGA 1151 2.8GHz Processor

Power Supply: Corsair HX1200M 1200W 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply

SSD:Kingston SSDNow A400 120GB 2.5" SATA III SSD SA400S37/120G

Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H270-PLUS LGA 1151 ATX Motherboard

RAM: Crucial 4GB (1x 4GB) DDR4 2400MHz Memory

6 powered Risers and a open air frame.

Do i need to purchase any additional wires of anything to get my rig running or do i have all i need??
Should this be fine to just plug into a power outlet or do i need to check if it can handle it first? I live in Australia if that helps.

Yes, from the looks of it you're short of cables., your GPU requires 1x6pin and 1x8pin PCI-e cables, basically you need 8pins(6+2)Splitter to accommodate your 6x1070tis, what's in the PSU box are 2x (6+2)pins , 2x(6+2)pins with 6+2 splitter, 2x 8pins. and I am not including your risers here, however you can use the peripherals in 1 is to 1 concept that sata could handle the power ratings.

sorry you have confused me a bit, all i need is a splitter like this one https://www.ebay.com.au/i/332421292719?chn=ps and the mobo power cable like the other guy stated and thats me all covered for wires? Also i found this wire diagram on reddit ( https://www.ebay.com.au/i/332421292719?chn=ps) does this look like the best way to wire it all up?

Sorry to confuse you a bit, much better if you could use 8pin to dual 8pin(6+2) since most of the cables included to your PSU is 8pins.

I am not to sure what you mean when you say  "am not including your risers here, however you can use the peripherals in 1 is to 1 concept that sata could handle the power ratings." Is the diagram just the easiest way to do it?

There were no diagrams in the link, what I wanted to say is to just use the peripherals to power up your risers one cable to one riser.

Go for the HX1200i if it is not too expensive. You can plug an USB cable into this PSU and measure your total power usage, set fan curves etc.... Then you don't need that wall power meter. I got my hand on a second hand one and I LOVE IT.

Just been looking online: The "i" version is only 35 euros more... Smiley

for an extra 50 bucks i might aswell , thanks for the suggestion

You may also need a power button for the MB, case fans + fan hub, a thermometer for your mining room, and power extension cable(s) for PSU.

do you mean something like this https://www.ebay.com.au/i/182877006672?chn=ps?
