I've used a QT that is forked from BTC, and I know with newer versions of it they migrated to default new wallets to be descriptor wallets so i assume bitcoin Q, and i dont want to try loading it up to check lol.
So if bitcoin qt does the same (not sure if it does) then create a new wallet, uncheck descriptor, wallet and import the keys into that new wallet as you cant use the importprivkey with a descriptor wallet afaik.

for installing the python dependencies, try this for windows, i found the command you tried did not work for me:
python -m pip install -r requirements.txt
the make sure you are either in the directory of the BTCRecover, or type the full path to the requirements.txt in the command.

Have you got at least a rough idea what the password is likely to look like?

2nd this, I would also add that if you are going down the BTCRecover road, don't bother trying hashcat/johntehripper for higher throughput as they don't crack many of the older blockchain.info wallets.

current supply is just shy of 40m (not including burned/lost). Probably why if you zoom out on that 1d chart it looks ridiculous last alt szn
I know it took me forever to get my wallet synced, and I can say I had most of my icoin over a few addresses so im not on the first page list, although i think i have one i recieved ~90,000 on.
I had my wallet not sync for over 6 months when the network died. i had almost lost hope but a small few kb file was worth holding onto and now its back up and running lol, so who knows how many bad hds/reformats lost their wallets.

The coin certainly at one point had a few real good people behind it at the start. Unfortunately the one big one (the dev) was an arsehole and almost no existent when called upon in the thread lol. Hope a few people get back behind this again.
Nice, I am syncing my old wallet with those nodes, i figured it was dead. now that its actually still running maybe we will get lucky and someone will wanna take it over
Lol, i have a TON of coins in my wallet from like 6 months ago, haven't looked at the coin since then. Now the wallet doesn't even get any seeds, based on what i am reading the network is totally dead? I cant even find any active pools hah..... It is a shame the coin was chose a good name and had some good logos and some good people (and one, particularily bad one.. cough captainhook cough)

It's gonna take way more than just getting added on mintpal for this to go anywhere
The coin needs something new and then a big PR bump as well as the mintpal thing
You should contact stevenb, he was the largest IPO investor and has stated many times he wants to 'pump' this coin or at least do something with it
I don't think a coin needs new tech for it to go anywhere, it just needs good pr and support. look at bitcoin, its still just bitcoin and its still going strong (not 1200 strong but its resilient)The coin needs something new and then a big PR bump as well as the mintpal thing

Maybe we can still do something about the coin.
Lets keep the discussion open.Bitcointalk no longer allows giveaways does it?, is there a new active spot where we could host a big giveaway. Not much, like 50 coins per person. Its more about getting the name out.... LOTS of people will download the clients just for the 50 coins... at least that is the way it use to be. Let say we got even just 10,000 coins (which a few people were willing to dish out) that would be enough to get 200 people with a little bit.
I can contribute some to this if we were to do a giveaway somewhere.
It doesn't really matter what exchange you are on, or how great your features are... if you do not have a community behind you no one will buy/sell your coin unfortunately. I've seen a few feel like getting on cryptsy for example would save their coin, but it did nothing for trading volumes or interest in the coin.
Poloniex has a giveaway page now. You can either give people coins outright or set it up to give a % bonus of coins purchased on the exchange.

Edit: I guess we need to get listed there first. Maybe talk to the admins and see if we can't get some sort of marketing blitz around getting it added. We need to blast it out there that the premine is gone.

All iCoin shares were sent out to Investors. We no longer hold any premined coin. Investors please help to promote / develop it.

That is good news, also is it much work to recompile the wallets with a newer version of openssl? I know this was a HUGE bug, and i the icoin client it one that had one of the versions (1.0.1e) The issue is fixed in 1.0.1g i guess. There is a list of devs who have updated their coins, not sure if it is actively managed still or not. I know your focus is the new algo but with how big the bug was i think it could be worth the time to fix the client and get icoin on that list of fixed coins.
I'm willing to carry on small give a ways and spread the word about iCoin.

This is more of a hobby for me, if i end up making money out of it then great. I wouldn't like to commit any time to a pump team. I will advertise iCoin in my spare time for sure and assist where I can
Same here, i have only invested about 300 or so to get some btc to buy some icn recently when it was cheap, as its probably cheaper than paying my power company :p... and i mined for the day and made a few hundred more. I like the name and the design of it, as well as some of its marketing... just a shame it hasnt become more popular, when others have that probably should not have!

This is a blessing in disguise, ever since iCoin has been on poloniex it has gone downhill with price like a lot of other coins that get listed on there. Bittrex has more volume overall then poloniex now and it will be easier to establish a better price for iCoin on less exchanges.
Bluestreet you said you would start a new iCoin if things go bad? Is this option now?
How would you give iCoin to right people?
I would rather give Captainhook another month to see if he is not too busy with his other scam alts, if he starts taking this coin seriously and do something with the premine then we can look at things.
After looking at things again, there is no ways in hell this is captainhooks only coin because no creator would be so lazy with such a high potential coin.
There is 3 options the community has.
1. I take over iCoin and actually do work on it like noble/pot/digibyte devs but captainhook will still have premine.
2. Create a completely new iCoin from start but as POS/POW with X11 algorithm, this will be the most fair option but everyone will lose money and time.
3. Create a completely new iCoin from start but with Premine to replace current community coins. This will require A LOT of work.
The best way fwd for everyone is captainhook spending the premine, my guess though we won't hear much from him , maybe a update once a month with him hoping someone takes over while he has the premine.

Well, moving to a completely new icoin would be ultimately (as far as i am concerned) better in chances of success if captainhook is going to give up the reins. But i do not know how this will help in confusion with old clients, old wallets, etc when you have people who have the current icoin wallet, else you will have to change the directory it creates to something not called icoin (i think?).... and i think there are some people who have significant stake in the current icoin. As a few have said there are many people who have been mining for months with decent hashrates (perhaps that is a problem as they old too many). Myself i have ~ 50,000. A modest amount, but nothing i would go broke if it were to dissapear,
