Little bummed out, I guess it's my fault but I got a quote for some coins after banks were closed in my area, so I went the next day and deposited the money and the sellers coins were all already gone... so now he has my money, I have no coins, and bitcoin-brokers can't seem to get in touch with the guy... it's basically the same situation I posted about before. Hopefully he's a good dude and comes through.

Mine is also 12v 5a laptop power supply, and no, I don't have anything like that, I run mostly Apple products.

I think the board is defective, and the seller agreed to supply me with a new one, so I'll see then I guess.

The Fans should run and the LEDs should be on (Green). If they are configured they are off.

Did you follow the guide on the Ztex homepage?

Is your hub powered?
Is it a brand or a cheap one? (Same for the Cable)

Did you install the right libusb (cgminer and BTCMiners are different)

All I really saw on their page (http://www.ztex.de/btcminer/) was "All files required are packed into a single jar archive which can be downloaded from the download section and runs under Linux and Windows," which I downloaded and ran the command they supplied while in the folder. I have the newest Java, but I'm not sure how you 'install' libusb exactly, unless there's more than the apt-get command.

I think the board is faulty though, I couldn't get it to even made the LEDs come on when I plugged it in, and none of the fans kicked on.

If anyone is looking to unload on Bank of America, Sovereign, Citizens, or Webster - let me know!

Or better yet...load them at Bitcoin-Brokers so we can safely broker them to this member safely. Wink

This is what I meant! I just meant let me know so I could go to you and tell you they were being loaded Smiley

I tried running the ZTEX miner, how do you load the libusb driver? Are the LEDs on the board supposed to come on right when it's plugged in?

BTCMiner with '-i' produces no connected devices.

Edit: I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 on an iMac, booting and running Linux from a flash drive. I downloaded the .jar from ztex - am I missing something? Should the fans automatically kick on when I plug it in? Should the LEDs flash?

I'm having an issue with the FPGA Module 1.15y, getting a no devices found.

I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 off a thumb drive and I've downloaded the SDCC and BTCMiner. I've installed the SDCC and I got the openjdk-7-jre package through apt-get. Last night I was trying to figure it out and I had the LEDs on the board all flashing, but was getting no devices found. Today they aren't flashing, but I'm still getting no devices found when I run

sudo java -cp ZtexBTCMiner-121126.jar BTCMiner -host[hostinfo] -u[userinfo] -p[password]

This is my first experience trying to mine from command line... kudos to you all that know what you're doing, because I feel like I have no idea what's going on.

So I like to think I'm pretty technically proficient, but my Linux skills are lacking ever since I started using OSX.

I'm running Ubuntu off a thumbdrive on an iMac, and I bought one of these FPGA boards thinking I can figure it out, but I'm totally lost. Is there a step-by-step anywhere where I can figure out what the hell I'm supposed to be doing?

site is not even https secured?

-Zero financial transactions occur on the site.
-Zero information is collected via the site.
-Hence zero need for Https on the site.

Has anyone said in your face yet?

Also, as someone who has made multiple purchases now, maybe you could implement a trusted buyer system of sorts, or reduce the hold time for unresponsive sellers to 12 hours?

Another thing we might want to keep in mind here...

I get quoted for x amount of BTC, and I have until 6 p.m. to deposit the money.

At 4:30, I go, deposit the money while I'm running various errands. I get home at 7 to find that my order has been released to someone else because I didn't provide proof of purchase in the allotted time frame. Now I have no BTC and no way to get a refund. In addition, the seller got a double deposit - what then?

All of this is purely theoretical, and food for thought.

You do not have until 6:00 to make the deposit. You have until 6:00pm to make the deposit and reply back to the support thread with your deposit slip.

Plus when you get quoted the price, the bitcoins are placed on hold and will not be sold to anybody else that day.

Right, but what I'm saying is what if I made the deposit yesterday, but didn't (or forgot) to send the receipts until today and you had already put the coins back up and sold them, where would that put me as a customer? You can't guarantee a refund since the cash went straight to them, and they've already sold their coins!

I confirm receipt of another 9 bitcoins which will be made available for purchase immediately at any Bank of America.

Can you look at the zendesk ticket for order 3790 please? I don't want to miss out on grabbing a few of the BOA ones. I was working with Dan - thanks!

Hey guys!

Tried to post sooner, but I didn't realize there was such a long wait to be able to get to this forum.

Anyway, this is a review I wrote for them -

I'm writing this post to give everyone a little insight about the website aforementioned. I recently took a leap of faith and purchased three bitcoins through this BRAND NEW site, and I wanted to share my experience.

In order to purchase, you must first visit their site and declare (in a dollar amount) how much you're looking to spend, and at what bank. I was looking to buy 5 BTC through a bank of america (not understanding what, exactly, it entailed), so I placed my order (without using any CC info or anything, simply entered some info in) and waited. Shortly thereafter I received an email saying I would need to deposit my money into a specific account  Roll Eyes

So I followed up with the email, and was assigned someone to work the process with... I must say - it was a nice touch working with a person right away! He informed me that, since they were a new site, they weren't stocked with enough BTC for the sale. Basically, they're an escrow service, and they match me up with a seller and take a 2% fee from the purchaser - the seller sells free. He said they could supply me with three of the five I needed, and alert me when more were available if I was so inclined. I agreed and he supplied me with someones name, account and routing number, and gave me a deadline to deposit the cash within. I made my way to the bank, VERY wary I might add, and deposited the money.

Part of the process is to send a picture or a scan of the deposit slip and the business card of with whom you had dealings with at the bank. I promptly uploaded them and then held my breath. Dan (my liaison) told me he was going to contact the seller, verify the payment, and then release the BTC. This is where everything took a turn for the worst...

...just kidding. It took a few hours of my nervously checking my email for the confirmation, but low and behold the coins were there.

All in all, solid A++ experience, and I am waiting for a new seller to load the remaining coins so I can purchase them!

(no seriously, I'm looking to buy 2.5 more BTC right now, through bank of america!)

Bear with me here, I'm not much of a hardware guy. I ordered one of these, thinking it was powered via the USB dongle.

Alas, it is not so - how in the world am I supposed to power this fricken thing?
