Re: Is self-meriting possible?
by
octobuzz
on 03/05/2023, 12:25:33 UTC
May sound silly but has anyone tried meriting themselves on a discussion they start. I noticed that the option to merit a post is still available on a post we make, I wanted to try it out, but I do not want to default, so I decided to come ask first.

Is it possible to merit yourself?

Yes, you can merit yourself but you would need two accounts for it. A lot people do this on the platform and they get away with it. People own multiple accounts and once they get merited on one account, they send that merit to their other account. This is very unfair because it denies other people who actually deserve the merits.

It would be very helpful if measures were taken to prevent self meriting as I just explained.

Re: Resume Writing Service

There are a lot of resume writing service on the internet today and most of them are paid. Some offer freemium services while others are completely free.
I have used quite a handful of them in the past but the best would be resume.com. It's free and they help you construct concise and professional resumes minutes.

You can also find resume.io as an alternative. Only that is freemium and may require you to pay for some of their templates, especially the ones that you would like.

Re: Where should I start ? Bitcoin & Coding/programming

Programming has different niches and from the look of things you would fancy becoming a Blockchain Developer.
There you can learn how to create smart contracts and wallets just like you stated. Blockchain development is very interesting but might be quite difficult for beginners.

I am learning how to code to and I started by enrolling for freeCodeCamp. It's a completely free website to learn programming and they have one of the best curriculum for absolute beginners.

After learning the basics of programming mastering web development, I look forward to learning Solidity, a language for using in Blockchain development.

Re: Month of May. Bitcoin price guess

Those that chose below $30000, bitcoin has disappointed you  Grin : Bitcoin price guess, 2023.

For those of you that have not chose anything, you can still partake in the poll.

What are people talking about now?
This is according to what I am hearing, that bitcoin rise from as low as less than $4000 to almost $14000 in 2019, that the highest price bitcoin might increase to this time may not reach $40000 because all-time-high is $69000. We are still around $30000, that bitcoin may increase up to almost $40000

Let us continue the fun of monthly price guess. What did you think will be bitcoin highest price in May?

The price of Bitcoin tense to be affected by so many factors but considering the fact that it crossed $30k last month, it would likely surpass that mark again and get up to $35k. All things being equal, it might stay there before the month runs out.

Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling?
by
octobuzz

Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?

if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com

My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?

Gambling is not just about staking money. You are also staking intelligence and time. It takes someone smart to make quality predictions and with a bit of luck, those predictions can become reality.

Superpicks is actually a marketing scheme cooked up by BetKing. They believe the reason why some people do not bet is because they don't want to put in their own money. So they thought about giving people the chance to make predictions without placing their money. Afterwards, they advertise the real betting platform and the conversion rate has been massive

OP, it still remains gambling as far as you are making predictions with the intent to win something.

I'm quite new here so I thought about exploring some boards. I opened up the Archival board and I tried making a post there but I wasn't able to. I then got to know that newbies are not allowed to make posts in the board. But I am a bit curious and I would like to know why it's so.

Re: How to be more useful in this forum

on 20/04/2023, 12:43:12 UTC
I just wondering, how to be more useful and productive on this forum.
I am determined to do a contribution in here but no matter how hard I try I failing to execute my determination.
So dear seniors and good peoples, can you please give me some simple but effective Direction to improve me?
It will be honor to have some Direction..

This forum is certainly one of the best forums I have ever been a part of. Although I'm new here but from the little time I have spent, I have gained so much information and insight. I'm really delightful to be here.

I have asked myself this same question and the answer remains the same: You can only be more useful when you offer more value. When you contribute more constructively to the forum, you would increase in worth and recognition. Hence, I have devoted myself to studying and building knowledge so that I will be able to be of more use to the platform and all it's members.

Here are some documentation that were recommended to me by a friend. I think you might find them helpful too.

is it good for a contractor to be awarded a contact  and be  payed  with Bitcoin .I was awarded a contact and to be payed with Bitcoin  I don't have any idea about it i  need a help from these foroom please?

This is obviously a rhetorical question, mate. It's like asking if it's good for one to be given drugs when they are sick. I don't see why you asked this here because you already know the answer.

Being paid with bitcoin is same as being paid with fiat if not even better. They are all currencies and equally methods of receiving payments. I'm sure you already know this so please get your act together.

Re: Is trading good for beginners?
by

Trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Most beginners usually want immediate gratification, hence, they venture into crypto trading with little or no knowledge at all. I don't think people who are just starting our in crypto should engage in trading.
They should get a good understanding of the concept before they begin trading. This would obviously take quite a lot of time but it would be worth all the mistakes and errors in the future. Information is power.

The rapid development and advancement of AI is something that everyone is aware of. AI has truly come to stay with new ideas being implemented and released by different companies.

However, I'm a bit curious on how AI would affect cryptocurrency in the nearest future. Will it be majorly positive or negative? Let's all share our thoughts on this.

Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC?
by
octobuzz
on 17/04/2023, 14:58:13 UTC
I admit making payments with BTC might be a bit uncomfortable sometimes considering the it's volatile state in the market. Knowing that you can sell for a higher price could be so painful at times.

Nevertheless, Bitcoin's sole purpose is to give financial freedom and not necessarily a means of making profit. Just as you would use any other currency, Bitcoin was created to do the same. However, in a more decentralized way, thereby making you free from the constraints of bank and the government.

In my opinion, BTC should be used more in making payments. I believe this would make people comfortable while using it for payments.

Na truth you talk but you dey forget say every skill wey person learn for this tech dey relevant in one way or the other. I go agree with you say some of the tech skills dey in higher demand than others but e nor mean say the other ones nor dey important too.

High in-demand tech skills dey very good to learn because dem go quick give you job and money go start dey enter your hand sharp sharp. Only say, this same high in-demand skills still get disadvantage because of the competition wey dey inside especially when you dey find job.

My advice na say make pipo learn any tech skill of their choice, especially the one wey dem go fit put all their mind. All tech skills dey relevant and lucrative, if you get passion for am, e go surely reward you at the end.

Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023
by

Arsenal currently have the biggest opportunity, but they are still in a very vulnerable position to being replaced by Manchester City. They also failed to get 3 points from Anfield last night. It's not bad to get 1 point at Anfield, but that makes their position even more threatened. BTW, it's not only you who expect Arsenal to win the EPL title, there are many people out there who have the same hope because it's been a very long time since Arsenal won that title.

I must say I am disappointed at the results from Anfield because it has made our title race more stiff now. Like you said, it's been a long while since we won the title and I would love to see us win the league this season. Let's just hope for the best and prepare for the worst...

Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season

The UCL this season is tough, I must admit. I certainly cannot deny the fact that the teams almost have equal chances of winning it. However, I would still go with the defending champions, Real Madrid.

Though, odds may not be in their favour, I just have a hunch that they would come out victorious. They may not be very consistent in their League games but they are very experienced when it comes to Champions League football. I don't see any team stopping them this time.

Arsenal seems to be favourite to win the 2022/2023 Premier League season but Manchester City is still very much in it and I think the winner would be either of the teams but being a Gunner, I just hope we win!

So, I just stumbled on a link to download a browser from an ad and it has mining capabilities for Bitcoin. Since my PC doesn't meet up to Bitcoin Core specifications, I'm thinking I should try this browser out.
However, I would like to get your opinions on this matter.
What do you think?
