In addition to trusting you, the buyer needs to bear a 2.5% fee, however, you do not sign the deposit address using PGP.

Since you are acting as an eescrow, what will happen if your cold storage is hacked? Is there a compensation fund? If not, perhaps signing a message with an address containing more than one Bitcoin will be necessary.
The conversation is not conducted via https://trustee.cash/ so how will the dispute between the two parties be resolved, screenshots can easily be faked.

We will work on making that happening, we are just starting and we are splitting the funds between marketing, branding and working on improving the privacy of our users as that's what is most important to use due to our current users category.

We work our best to provide the best dispute resolution and customer support to our clients with most disputes and tickets been solved in 1 hour max.

We will do our best to provide and assist our clients of course, and we will take in consideration the critics as well to better improve.

That is stored by the user request, if any user has a large transaction, and upon his request we will store his funds in a cold wallet for more security and privacy.
How is anything automated, if you send funds in cold wallet only at the user's request?

Otherwise, what exactly sets you apart and proves you as a reliable intermediary in any transactions? As far as I understand, you have access to funds at all times. What are the guarantees that you will not voluntarily close the contract and leave with the money?

We have no problem getting an OG from Bitcointalk to be on the admin side and on the multi-sig wallet.

For cold wallets, we are still working on solving the connection between the hot and cold wallets and once we get there should be all good. So far the best solution for Cold wallets is for the user to let us know if they want to store their coins in a ledger or a trezor, and to be withdrawn to seller once the transaction is done. It is of course optional but just a precaution.

We are working on listing more coins and enabling a better UI for mobile, which we have to take the No JS seriously, and our team is working on that as well.

@pablocokeninja
Apart from their appearance, is there any difference between the escrow platform that you launched in the past [and at one point, you were trying to sell] and this one?
- I couldn't check everything due to getting a "Server Error (500)", but it appears that only the email and password fields have automated checks for being valid... You might want to do the same for valid addresses as well.

Are you sure it is still getting Server Error 500? Because it is working perfectly so far.
but it appears that only the email and password fields have automated checks for being valid... You might want to do the same for valid addresses as well. There are automated checks for valid addresses as well, I believe you should try to open a trade and see.

Based on the explanation on this page[1], the buyer needs to trust that you don't run away with their money to use this service. I don't see a multi-sig or similar option where the buyer or seller can participate in releasing the escrow at all, so they have to rely on your service from beginning to end. I don't think that's really attractive, especially with how new you are. How would you solve this issue?

Hey,

We are working on creating a really smoother fix for multi-sig for the normal day to day crypto user to use it without the hassle of knowing all the technical stuff, it takes time of course.
We really have no problem if an OG escrow wants to get onboard and be a co-founder.
Initially, we made this website in order to server DN users and those who want to enjoy the privacy of their transactions without any ties on them.
So that is our main target of customers.

You say

No Hot Wallets
We store your funds in cold wallets, away from malicious hackers!
Assuming this is true, then how are you supposed to access funds instantly and regularly from a cold wallet when the other parties release the funds? Doesn't this make the wallets hot, or am I missing something?

That is stored by the user request, if any user has a large transaction, and upon his request we will store his funds in a cold wallet for more security and privacy.

Achieving a goal

Hey folks,

Basically, I have around 25$k to invest, and I really want to hit least 200K$ by the end of this year.
Could you please give me some tips and advises?
Also, It is an amount that I honestly don't want to lose since it counts significantly to my capital.
Background story, I have quite the portfolio that would count around 150k$ at current prices, some I sold early and some went greedy and lost.
I did learn a though lesson about patience tho.
Also, psychologically I am done with trading since the lost, I was great at it but one drunk night got me bad lol.
Don't drink and trade folks.

Thanks a lot!

one of the things I consider a major challenge in escrow services in the crypto space is the price volatility of assets. As much as we all understand that there is volatility in the market, can we say that those who are in a business deal also understands that their asset of concerns has volatile price movements and who covers for the losses in cases where it is the obvious.

The escrow service has to mediate over such disparity except it is being spelt out that is concerns precise volume rather than value of the asset.

Indeed, But there is always a solution for such problem nowadays as it is mostly technical.

I was tinkering with BTCPayServer, even though I do like the idea but it doesn't satisfy my needs (Test building Bitcoin Exchange - for fun dw dw)

First of all, i have doubt BTCPayServer is suitable to manage cryptocurrency exchange. As stated on their docs[1], the common case for BTCPay is for mostly receiving Bitcoin.

What I am thinking is, manual check-outs and automatically sending coins to a hardware wallet, and send them back to the users upon their withdrawal requests?

I believe you'll need to use pull payment feature[2].

Apart from BTCPayServer

Hey,

I was tinkering with BTCPayServer, even though I do like the idea but it doesn't satisfy my needs (Test building Bitcoin Exchange - for fun dw dw), which lead me to deploy my own node and work on it, I am wondering on how to custody the coins for an example.
Lets say, user(A) deposits to the exchange, where should I keep the coins? In the server? Isn't it too risky?
What I am thinking is, manual check-outs and automatically sending coins to a hardware wallet, and send them back to the users upon their withdrawal requests?

Can someone please elaborate to me how should I do that, and what is the secure way to do so.
I tend to have a strong urge to use HD wallets since they are the safest (as believed by the majority).

Some guides/documentations/tutorials please?   Kiss

Escrow services and problems

Hey,

I want to develop a Bitcoin escrow service and I have some doubts about it and to get started with it and all.
I know for a fact that Bitcoin is meant to be a peer-to-peer crypto-currency where trust is the key, even tho there is multi-sig, but for the simple user they would find it quite hard to do so. And therefore why there aren't many Bitcoin escrow services (excluding DW escrows for non-legit/illegal purposes).
Also, makes me question if it is actually a profitable business, given it is hard to earn trust for such platforms.
Finally, what's with escrow and disputes? I mean, solving disputes is not that hard of a thing to do, right? right??

Thank you for reading!  Smiley

Bitcoin validation for Javascript

Hey,

I am wondering if there is a full bitcoin validation library or NPM package for that? That the build is actually up to date and maintained.
If not, should i validate the bitcoin wallet using the RPC validateaddress() command through an API?
Would love your feedback on this.

Joinmarket, decentralized, open source, peer-to-peer, non-custodian, since 2015 : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=919116.0;all

JoinMarket is a really good start (and it definitely won't be banned).

Actually now that I've read about it, I would like to contribute to it myself. It seems like the perfect promise for making the blockchain full of coinjoin transactions.

I heard the inventor (chris belcher) is not doing well with COVID-19 though, so hope he feels better.

Looks nice tbh, will check it out!

If you want to develop something that is actually useful for Bitcoin (not for your personal profit) then look into the concept of CoinJoin and the existing implementation of it and see if you have any idea that could improve upon the existing ones, maybe even introduce a new more decentralized one!

Otherwise if you want to create yet another centralized mixer, you'll probably get shut down and possibly arrested soon after your "service" picks up a certain amount of traffic.

Hey,

Got it, will check it out! much appreciated.

Friendly advice;  if you want to develop something, why not try something you are actually familiar with?
Better still to develop his time to learn and make more research before trying to go into such services, I believe those who launches such mixing services has took more years to make findings on how they could executes their plans.
But sad news for OP did he read the message posted by theymos about mixers? If yes then I don't think here is the best place to further talks about his mixing service since from 1 January 2024 no mixers discussion or even post link that directly link to mixing website and whatsoever is allowed here anymore.

I sincerely apologize for that, I generally was not aware of that rule frankly.
