Re: PhoenixMiner 5.6d: fastest Ethereum/Ethash miner with lowest devfee (Win/Linux)
by

on 16/05/2021, 02:33:06 UTC
The new beta version is finally ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.6d from here:

PhoenixMiner_5.6d_Windows.zip (GitHub)
PhoenixMiner_5.6d_Linux.tar.gz (GitHub)

The new features in this release are:

  • The problem with the missing GPU temperatures on Nvidia GPUs is fixed
  • Added native kernels for AMD RX6700 GPUs. These are faster than the generic kernels and produce a lot less stale shares
  • Increase the max supported DAG epoch to 550 (should be enough to about Jan 2023)
  • Full support for setting clocks, fan speeds, voltages, and memory timings of AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards
  • The specific hashrate is now shown in the form of kilo hashes per joule (kH/J). Example: if a GPU has hashrate of 30 MH/s with 100W power usage, the specific hashrate is 300 kH/J
  • Added new command-line parameters -ttj and -ttmem, allowing automatic fan speed control based on GPU hotspot (junction), and memory temperatures respectively. Example: -ttmem 83 will keep the GPU memory temperature at or bellow 83C by increasing the fan speed as necessary. These parameters can be combined with -tt, as well as with each other. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added new command-line parameters -tmaxj and -tmaxmem, allowing to decrease the GPU usage when the GPU hotspot (junction), or GPU memory temperatures are above the specified thresholds. These options are supported only on AMD GPUs that report junction and memory temperatures
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers 21.3.2, and 21.3.1
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers 20.50.x. Use this drivers only if you have Polaris or older GPUs, or the latest RX6x000 GPUs. WARNING: Vega, Radeon VII, and Navi GPUs won't work with these drivers!
  • Turn off the zero fan feature on AMD cards whenever a fixed fan speed is used (e.g. -tt -40), or when an auto fan with min fan speed is used (e.g. -tt 63 -minfan 35). To disable this feature, add -fanstop 1 command-line parameter
  • When -mcdag 1 is specified under Linux, the miner will not wait for the daggen.sh script to finish before starting to generate the DAGs. Instead it will for a fixed 7 seconds. This allows you to do all the following in the daggen.sh: turn off the overclocking of Nvidia GPUs, sleep for 30-60 seconds to allow time for DAG generation, and then re-apply the overclocking of the Nvidia GPUs
  • Other small improvements and fixes

The support for -ttj, -ttmem, -tmaxj, and -tmaxmem for Nvidia 3090 and 3080 GPUs is not yet ready for release. We hope to have it ready for the final 5.6 release.

For more robust integrity check, you can use our GPG public key, which was verifyed with ETH transaction from our main devfee account as explained here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.msg56755869#msg56755869.

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.6d.

I had the same issue and was a DNS error, I recomend you to use the file "epools.txt"( read the bitcoin post to see how to use it) and put pools of the other sites:  asia1.ethermine.org, eu1.ethermine.org, us1.ethermine.org and us2.ethermine.org

I am specifically looking for Nvidia GTX 1070, 1060 supporting coins to start mining.

Please suggest which algorithm and coin best suit for mentioned GPU.

You can mine thought nicehash( https://www.nicehash.com ) and the program will mine with the best algorithm at any time and you'll be payed with bitcoin

Re: 7 or 8 GPU on ASROCK Z370 Killer SLI
by
patofet
on 19/02/2018, 12:17:43 UTC

I've got the following problem with 7th and 8th GPU on my motherboard:

I had 6 GPU (5x 1080ti and 1x 1070) on my ASROCK Z370 Killer SLI motherboard, 2 power sources 1200W.
All drivers are updated for motherboard, GPUs, I also use onboard graphics card as I have plugged in LCD to it.

Few weeks ago, I found out that I can use M.2 slots as PCIe slot so I bought additional 1080ti.
So, I bought M.2 to PCIe adapter and plugged 7th GPU into this.
However, I've got unstable mining when I add 7th GPU, actually I was able to use only 1 M.2 on this motherboard.
I was even forced to use 1070 card on M.2 port because it seems that 1080ti was not recognized.
Well, bios does not detect M.2 device at all Sad.
Recently, I decided that I update BIOS to 1.1 version that was successful but still unstable mining.

Unstable mining means I get blue screen on Windows 10 with some VIDEO related problem (I do not remember error message)

What is your experience with GPU  in M.2 port on your motherboard?

Could it be that 4 1080ti GPUs is too much for 1200W power source?

Thanks for experience. Smiley

In certains motherboards it's important to update the bios, if you can take a picture of blue screen, we can see what happening, also when the blue screen appears?

What is your experience with GPU  in M.2 port on your motherboard?
I only try one motherboard and it work fine without a lot of problems.

Could it be that 4 1080ti GPUs is too much for 1200W power source?
I think you'll need more power, in max power this need arround of 1500w I think

Is it safe to power 2 USB GPU risers with this 5 pin HDD/sata PSU connector?

http://i63.tinypic.com/ounx3l.jpg

The risers will be connected with 4pin MOLEX connector.

Yes, you have a similar psu that I have, I can connect 2 risers and a hdd but I don't recomend to put 3 risers you can literally burn the connectors also you must to check the connectors regularly.

Re: ¿Cómo declarar en España ganancias por minería de bitcoins por lo legal?
by
patofet
on 25/01/2018, 11:59:28 UTC

Hello there! Claymore can't mine on ethermine pool!!!

TH: Stratum - Cannot connect to eu1.ethermine.org:4444
ETH: Stratum - Failed to connect, retry in 20 sec...

I changed  stratum servers to s1.ethermine.org:4444, asia1.ethermine.org:4444 or asia1.ethermine.org:14444

But it doesn't help

ETH: Stratum - Cannot connect to us1.ethermine.org:4444
ETH: Stratum - Failed to connect, retry in 20 sec...

Who else does have this issue?

same. for recover i use claymore 10.4
until they fix it.

Same problem at the same time in two rigs  Embarrassed

I have the same isues and I think that is a DNS problem, but I can not check it because I'm on private network that can not change the DNS , I make a proxy outside this network and I connected the proxy to the pool and now it's fine

Re: Old laptop for mining?
by

on 24/01/2018, 11:43:25 UTC
Hi Guys & Girls!

In the next days i will be buying a new laptop.
I have no experience in mining but i would like to hear your ideas about using my old laptop for mining.
It is an N76V ASUS - Working memory 8GB, 1 TB HD, NVIDIA Card 740 M, Intel core I7, 3630 QM, 2,4 GHz

Is this enough for mining? Would it be any profitatable? We are in the Netherlands and pay quite some for electricity....

Look forward to hear your experiences/opinions!

Yes, you can mine with nicehash: https://miner.nicehash.com
