I have 20 years of building computers and running linux systems under my belt. It's took me 1 day to build my first rig and 29 days to keep the dam thing from crashing. With little to no perspective on what your doing, troubleshooting can be really hard.

It's a great hobby with the added benefit of *possible* financial gain through selling coins or enhancing ones knowledge of emerging technologies. Good luck!

Re: Dual PSU combine different PSUs

I have a 750W Corsair and a 1000W EVGA in one rig, combined with this http://www.add2psu.com/

Haven't had any problems yet.

I thought the same about the riser and GPU but what ended up working for me is:

All risers, cpu, mobo, sata on one PSU and all the GPUs on the second PSU.  If I didn't do it this way the cards in the risers connected to the second PSU would not be recognized.

OK, I tried to boot up a rig with this MB and it didn't work so I assumed it wasn't supported... I'll give it a try with fewer GPU's

any plans to add the ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ to the list of supported boards?

-phil

I have used these mobos with rxOC; when using more than 6x GPUs the driver and x stop working together and you will need to follow the process in this post for now:

I just ssh'd in with m1/miner1 and edited ~/1bash file.

Then, "screen -r miner" to switch to miner and Ctrl+C to cancel mining.

The miner will start itself back up and apply any changes  you made to 1bash file.

Not sure if this is the right workflow but it worked for me.

wow this is super cool. all I had to do is image the SSD and I was up in running in no time by just swapping it into a rig.

only issue is.. all ETH miners report some version of

Claymore:
ETH: Share rejected!
Socket was closed remotely (by pool)

Etherminer/Genoil:
  ℹ  20:19:51|ethminer  Connecting to stratum server us2.ethermine.org:4444
Could not resolve hostus2.ethermine.org:4444, Operation canceled  ℹ  20:19:51|ethminer  Reconnecting in 3 seconds...
  ℹ  20:19:54|ethminer  Connecting to stratum server us2.ethermine.org:4444
Could not resolve hostus2.ethermine.org:4444, Operation canceled  ℹ  20:19:54|ethminer  Reconnecting in 3 seconds...
  ℹ  20:19:57|ethminer  Connecting to stratum server us2.ethermine.org:4444
Could not resolve hostus2.ethermine.org:4444, Operation canceled  ℹ  20:19:57|ethminer  Reconnecting in 3 seconds...

Any ideas what this might be? I checked and there is no connectivity issue to etherminer from the box, I can telnet to port 4444

MSI Armor RX470 8GB Doesn't Act Right.
by

I got what I thought was a good deal on 10 MSI RX 470 8GB cards, expecting ~22Mh/s ETH

Well it's more like ~18Mh/s. No biggy? probably the AMD DAG Epoch issue I guess...

So I tried some Monero mining and I'm getingt ~500H/s per card

Seems very low compared to what I've been seeing for these cards.

I want to put them all into the 13 GPU ASRock board but now I'm wondering if I should just return them...
