Today I received 51x USB Block Erupters which I assume correlates to paying 51.5BTC in the second blade auction. Appreciating the gesture from friedcat/AsicMiner
I'm not super interested in investing time/cost to get these running or handling individual sales, if anyone is looking to batch buy..
so for 1 blade i need 4 black wires and 2 yellows ?
You need enough positive and negative wires to safely meet the boards power requirements. People are combining multiple black/yellow wires in parallel because typically single cables from an ATX PSU aren't of a sufficient gauge to carry the current that the board demands. Too much current down one wire means the wire gets hot and.. perhaps bad times.
I don't understand why the OP has 4 black and 2 yellow, there's no benefit to running additional wires on only one side of the supply.
While good intentioned and with some useful information regarding vertical mounting and cooling, there's a lot of misinformation around how to most safely power these boards across this thread and others. Detail the specifics of your proposed configuration and ask questions if in doubt. Above all, be safe - wires feeling too "warm" (think would you feel safe with a mains extension lead at that temperature) may suggest something that isn't suitable to be run 24/7 for months on end as these blades inevitably will be.
1. The two poles for the positive polarity are identical when cabling from the PSU, so are those for the negative polarity.
i'll be getting myself a psu with 12v/10a output so when i bare the wires, how will i know which wire goes into which hole? the picture below belongs to LainZ and i'm trying to figure out how to wire the board when it arrives...
look at another side of the blade. You will see "+ + - -" marks. So + goes to + and - to -.
Is it really necessary to loop back both terminals like this? I thought friedcat had said these were for chaining boards (ie. are connected already on the PCB). My plan was to use a 6 pin PCIe connector from an ATX PSU and simply twist the three wires together to connect just one +ve and -ve input.

Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades CHECK OP FOR PAYMENT
Just get a normal PSU and buy molex splitters and cut the 12v wire off the split ends (leave the 5v safely attached).
Be sure to check the actual rating on the rails. If going with an ATX PSU you're probably better off using the PCIe or CPU connectors which typically have a dedicated or at least high-powered rail. Assuming this board needs 80w and connecting a disk/peripheral rail off a cheapo 150w PSU could well end in trouble.
So, if I'm reading that correctly, you can "view and/or listen to certain parts of BBC Content (such as video or live television services)" as long as you don't do it "using BBC Online Services"?
You wouldn't be liable for watching BBC content (on Youtube for example), but the uploader could possibly be.. like most copyright stuff it's only the distribution that's naughty, not the consumption.
I also believe if the OP is a UK citizen then sending him iPlayer files would be more of a legally grey area.
I dunno, that seems pretty clear cut..
