It was a mistake and they announced that they are still accepting bitcoin for payment

http://www.cnbc.com/2016/03/14/microsoft-stops-accepting-bitcoin-on-windows-10.html

Welp, thanks for the update lol.

I guess we can now officially say microsoft is awesome again..  Tongue

Watch they update cnbc, a month later they no longer accept bitcoin for technical reasons. lol.
How come the title

misleading. Actually it will clarify the rumors that microsoft is still accepting bitcoin payment.

Re: Bitcoin Bank???
by

bitcoin banking is probably ponzi. simply because you are hardly earning a decent interest with the blocks halving, really man.
even with the mining, you won't gain a lot of interest in bank; again, halving.

Everything that promises you a certain interest can turn into a ponzi scheme at any time. Even if they had "good" intentions when they started. It's very simple, never let your coins be held by a third party. If that is your basic rule, then you will be just fine.
It is not always like that. Bitcoiners are always looking for high yield investment and can tolerate high level risk for the high profits.

I was attracted by the title. Frequent ppl just throw out accusations to some party to complain the services. They are not patient and present their cases to the support and Waite the responses. I could understand that feeling of losing money. But before injecting money to the house, don't they do some investigation to the houses whether they are trustworthy and reliable?

OP, I suggest you lock this thread. Coz you issue was resolved. There is No need further unnecessary comments.

Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin?
by
phonebased
on 02/02/2016, 02:09:26 UTC
I've been trading alot recently, sort of like gambling but with less risk to lose everything in one swoop

trading need more capital to get big profit..if just small we get a less..maybe you can try trading in altcoin its quites big profit in there.
gambling not recomended, will be lose just in single bet. it depend also.. if predict good then will be win..

You can always try trading with leverage. Which means when you have $20 then you can, with leverage 10 times, trade like if you have $200. You can profit faster but lose faster too then.

If you want to try then okcoin.com is the best place because they have high volume.
For the ppl who lack trading knowledge and experience, I don't suggest leverage trading is a good way to earn Bitcoin, on the other way, it is a fast way to lose money.

Re: Is consensus really possible?
by

Theymos has stated he is against contentious hardforks and won't support anything without "consensus".
When asked, he defined consensus as "no significant disagreements".

However, I think that is just not possible when it comes to Bitcoin's scalability.
There has been continuous and passionate disagreement for years now.

Thoughts?
Not easy at the moment. Since bitcion has no such kind mechanism for voting in its protocole like in another altcoins. Different miners can only express their opinions in public place. This is really serious issues. It will split our bitcoin community.

Re: How many people buy or sell Bitcoin locally
by

Buying online from a reputable trading site isn' t really any more risky than face-to-face. There are many things that can go sour in a face-to-face deal that don't make it perfect.
You need to develop some tactics to avoid being scammed. Like never trust exchanges, once done the trades, withdraw money to the wallet under your control! Face to face trading, you need to go to public places and will be safe.

same. IMO 3 meals is enough. I don't have extra time to eat, or bother to eat.

The feedback is "Asking for no collateral loan on first post". If OP can send bitcoin first, there is no problem for ppl to do this exchange with him. He should state this clear at the op otherwise no ppl will be interested.

It seems you are not going to get any loan from here. Why not ask your friends or relative for some loan? Our reputational system is like the bank. Once you have a bad record, members here (or banks) wouldn't give you loan (probably small enough) any more.

by

on 17/10/2015, 08:01:52 UTC
it doesn't make sense to ask this, because exchange can deal with multiple country and their bank can be in a different location

just choose the one that support your country and you're done
imo the exchanges from different locations has their own regulations to follow, like KYC, AML, ban etc.The users have to follow those!

I have to tell you most of the pp are losing money from trading even they get involved in it for long time. Trading needs to have some kind of knowledge or strategy otherwise you are wasting money. For you, I reccommend to invest for the long term.

Re: What you want to see more in Bitcoin?

Faster confirmations is the only thing I could possibly wish Bitcoin to have at this point.

Like cryptsy have a function of sending payment within cryptsy system without any confirmation.Wallets like Coinbase, circle can adopt this system as well but only coinbase to coinbase payments will be faster
They are off chain transactions so they are quick!
I want to see our governments recognize bitcoin and financial institutions accept bitcoin as well, like banks.

by

Gambling has has nothing to do with wrong or right! Many countries are supporting this industry, which can generate a lot of tax incomes for the gov! Greedy is humam's nature! Ppl want to get rich from it! Once they lose , they keep gambling to win back the loss! if they will , they keep gambling to win more. Then they end up losing more! The best to do is to avoid gambling!

Hello, i have a question about how i know, if if a new altcoin launches, i should invest in it or not? How do you know that?
You should do your own research before investing your hard earned money! But I personally avoid to invest such kind of coins due to that the new coins are hyped and ppl are riding on the wave! IMO it is too risky! The price may crash later after investors found the promised features are not delivered on time or the dev team is not active and talented enough!

It is the weakness of the centralized exchanges! We got a hard lesson from the collapse. They can do everything they like for their own profit, like manipulating the price, identify leaking, getting hacked etc.
