According ot https://bittrex.com/crowdfund/apx) $636,000 in BTC has been poured into this venture so far.

Good looking team, but they have nothing. No whitepaper, no demo, no specifics. Link to "blog" gives a 502 bad gateway error. This is #BlockchainInsanity

At least the founders/ advisers are only taking 10% of the tokens and doing it in a delayed release way (10,000 per year under escrow), and not the 90+% that the Gnosis team took.

I would stay away from this one.

It's a scam folks. Read the relevant thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=277180.0

I tried to buy the $250 account and my credit card company denied the transaction [thank you!]

Nowhere on this forum has anyone posted positive feedback other than people that are clearly sockpuppets for the scammer.

Be careful ! In retrospect I should have known better. A little careful research will prevent you from falling into these traps.

in case you haven't seen this yet:

I agree with the previous posters -- bitcoin mining is no longer profitable unless you are willing to shell out a few thousand for an ASIC rig. Difficulty will keep going up as well.

Have you looked at

www.bitfunder.com  ?

I recently invested a bit in the "IceDrillASIC" mining IPO.
[Forum discussion here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=269216.0 ]

This project seems legit, but I think there is some risk involved because it's hard to say how profitably ASIC mining will be in Novmember, when the mine is supposed to be online. The shares are being released in batches. I believe there are still some IPO shares available , at a slightly higher price from the initial offering.

There are other mining projects on BitFunder as well.

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone,

I am a physics PhD student and lover of free markets!

My first foray into bitcoin was back in 2010 when I invested $300 in my friends mining rig. Boy do I wish I had invested more!

Since then I have been lurking, watching bitcoin thrive and grow. I am naturally skeptical of just about everything, and bitcoin was certainly no exception. However, after watching bitcoin grow and having been "behind the curve" on several exciting developments several times, I feel like I need to get more involved in the bitcoin community.

I am still bothered by the large block chain size and slow verification speeds, but as I understand some future changes to the bitcoin protocol could remedy these issues.

Anyway, I am happy to be joining the forum and I look forward to being involved in new developments.

Here are some recent developments I am following:
-- The "Bitshares" project [https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=279771.msg2989563#msg2989563]
-- Coinbase and Ripple
-- Investing in bitcoin related projects with Bitfunder [https://bitfunder.com/]
