Re: NXT 2.0 Ardor No ICO Speculation - Live Now
by

1 week -0.000001950

One week has passed seems you are 50% off so far.

He predicted 0.000001950 six days ago and the price is 0.00002039 with a high of 0.00002100 on poloniex today. His weekly prediction seems quite accurate, but it slightly underestimated the rise. If it goes higher in the next day his prediction might have been too cautious.

NXT has announced their new project Ardor will be NXT 2.0. They decided not to do an ICO, you have to hold NXT to get credit for the new project. What do you think the NXT price will be in the next week, month, 3 months?

1 week -0.000001950
1 month - 0.000002900
3 months - 0.00005800

It's already up 30% on Polo.

i assume alot of people are gonna leave their coins on exchanges. what happens to the distribution then? do they exclude the known exchange addresses from the distribution? are the people who bought on the rise clever enough to realise they need to put the coins in a proper wallet? it's an absolute waste of money for them otherwise.

I am thinking the same thing..

People that leave coins on exchanges are playing russian roulette to being with. I don't even trust exchanges honoring swaps and drops.  Look how BTER screwed over Peertracks and PLAY holders.  If it's not in your wallet, you don't own it.   The best devs can do is continue to communicate the message frequently about distribution.

The devs are are contacting the exchanges and will give an update on it when they have discussed the matter with them.

The big exchanges like btc38 and poloniex would likely give ardor to nxt holders, but we'll have to wait for confirmation. I doubt the devs trust bter or that many people have left coins on it because it wouldn't let them withdraw crypti coins for the lisk coin swap. The devs could work out which are the majority of bter's wallets.

Have you communicated with the exchanges for the snapshot? Or the only way is by keeping NXT in our wallets?

We'll update about this once we have this completely clear. We are contacting the exchanges, yes.
We'll give you clear communication about this.

5 k is withdrawn for current and upcoming development and marketing costs, good moment to sell BTC.

Sasha are you a fucking idiot?  You don't sell 5000 BTC at once unless you're trying to crash the market on purpose.

Sell your BTC over the counter to this guy who wants to buy 25,000:

https://twitter.com/BitfuryGeorge/status/746214539310489601

Sasha would get a far better price selling OTC than through a normal exchange because of slippage. Itbit is another alternative he could use to get a far higher price for his coins than dumping them on a normal exchange. It had 19k bitcoin volume last month.

https://www.itbit.com/otc

This page shows the 19k bitcoins sold OTC through itbit last May.

https://coinmarketcap.com/new/

Look at the bottom of the page and it shows coins not mineable are indicated with this symbol *

Significantly premined coins are marked with these symbols **

The site doesn't give you their difficulty, however it gives links to block explorers which you could get the difficulty from.

Nxt will be the next big thing over the next 3 months or so. If you hold it in that time you get free Ardor coin.

Ive held NXT for about a year now with barely a difference in price. Whats happening in the coming months that would cause a possible price increase? Also thought nxt was the same developers as waves or at least working with them or something like that?

The nxt devs are making a new coin called Ardor, and they are giving them all away to all nxt holders. The devs will be taking hourly snapshots of the next blockchain in the coming months, then giving free Ardor coins to all the nxt private keys that were holding nxt during a snapshot.

People won't want to sell their nxt while the snapshots are taking place, they will want to buy them.

Keep holding your nxt because you get free Ardor coins for holding them.

[ANN][ARDR][NO ICO] Ardor, or Nxt 2.0, a Scalable Child Chain Platform

...

Nxt is undergoing a dramatic evolution. Research by the Nxt team has led to Ardor, a platform that uses child chains and incorporates all of Nxt's latest blockchain innovations while being backed by the core developers of Nxt.

...

here are a few of the features coming with the new Ardor release:

1. Offering Blockchain as a Service ...

2. Manageable Blockchain Size ...

3. A Decentralized Asset Exchange ...

4. Decentralized Voting and Governance Systems ...

5. Phased Transactions ...

“Rather than providing smart contracts, NXT is focused on implementing the important use cases and functions directly into the core of both Nxt and Ardor. This approach has proven to be scalable and secure and will become more so when Ardor is released” – Riker

...

You'll be able to participate in Ardor right away. As Ardor continues testing and development, Nxt 1.9 will be released. With Nxt 1.9, you'll get your first chance to own a piece of Ardor. All those who hold an amount of NXT will also get a piece of Ardor. Snapshots will start be taken on an hourly basis, starting on July 14th to October 12th. Then, your total NXT will be averaged, and you'll receive that amount in Ardor tokens on October 12th, which will be freely tradeable up until the Ardor system launches.

At block 1,000,000 on October 12th, 2016, snapshotting will stop, and you'll be allowed to trade your Ardor tokens in NXT 1.9 in preparation for the launch of the Ardor blockchain.

I see, wel thats interesting. The little nxt i do own has been sitting on an exchange (i do realise im committing cardinal sin by doing that). So who get my ardor coins? does the exchange get them then transfer them to me or do i need to take my nxt out and then get my ardor that way?

If you want to be sure of getting your Ardor you should withdraw your nxt from your exchange and put them in your own personal nxt wallet. The Ardor get sent to the private key you control through your wallet.

The nxt devs are in talks with exchanges about giving their customers their share of Ardor, but nothing's been agreed yet. If you leave your coins on an exchange you cannot be sure you will get your Ardor for them.

Re: British exit from the European Union How is this going to effect Bitcoin
by

In the long run it depends on whether the brexit starts other events that crash the price of stocks, shares, and currencies. There are fears it might herald the break up of the EU, and doomsday predictions it could be the precursor to a worldwide recession. If half of that happens, banks will go bankrupt, and bitcoin will moon.

Re: When Dogecoin halving?
by

You missed it, the last ever block reward decrease was in February 2015. From now onwards there will be a fixed number of dogecoins reward for each block. That number will never get halved again. Dogecoin had a very fast mining window, with most of the coins mined by February 2015.

There is a new coin called Ardor coming out coded by the Nxt developers. It's got what they call child chains that make its blockchain small. It's not mine-able, there's no ICO, you can only get it by holding Nxt between mid-July and mid-October. The Nxt developers will do hourly snapshots of the Nxt blockchain for those three months, then when Ardor starts whatever private keys were holding Nxt get Ardor.

The DAO locked up so many Ethereum that it pumped its price. Similarly, the Nxt/Ardor snapshots will lock up so many Nxt that it might pump Nxt's price for three months. Nxt and Ardor could be the next best thing.

Try to add CLUD on a popular exchange like Bittrex or Poloniex
it won't happen, volume is almost 0 on yobit, and I see no activity by community. so why bittrex should add it?

Bittrex won't add it unless it gets paid 4 bitcoins, and CLUD's got zero volume on Yobit so nobody's made enough money from it to pay the 4 bitcoins. Unless something happens it will become another forgotten coin languishing on Yobit with no other exchanges prepared to add it.

hey I just notice alcurEX exchange is not listed in here even we have been CENT market several months.

can you mention us on your op list.
thanks - halibit

Hi,

I have  replaced "Cryptsy to alcurEX" as default CENT exchange. Please also change the link in your page with CENT new website link " www.cent.rocks", now it still redirects to penniescoin.org. Thanks.

http://www.cent.rocks/

MANO

Coinmarketcap needs updating, it shows "No Active Markets" for CENT despite the alcurex market for them. I hadn't checked out this thread in a long time and assumed with cryptsy's closure that there was nowhere left to trade my CENT. The trade volume would probably pick up if coinmaketcap was updated to let everyone know CENT's still trade-able.

Is the signature campaign giveaway only for full, senior, hero, and legendary members? Most of those members are already in long running signature campaigns and won't want to lose their spots. Most of the signature campaigns with good payouts are now full and it can take months to get back in for someone who loses his spot.

Everyone can participate.

Thanks, I have updated my signature, but I can't fit the whole full member signature in. I trimmed it down and only have 11 spare characters left after putting the link in.  Is my signature OK to register for the giveaway or should I change something in it?

Re: Buy on aliexpress with bitcoin?
by

on 02/02/2016, 01:06:19 UTC
I doubt Aliexpress will start accepting bitcoin payments.

Aliexpress.com is owned by the Alibaba Group, which also owns Alibaba.com. In January 2014 Alibaba banned accepting bitcoins on its online marketplace (Taobao), and banned the sale of bitcoin mining equipment there. Its actions were viewed as a response to the People's Bank of China (PBoC) crackdown on bitcoin.

http://www.cnbc.com/2014/01/14/bitcoin-safe-despite-alibaba-ban-btc-china.html

Quote
Chinese e-commerce group Alibaba said Tuesday it would not accept bitcoins on its online marketplace, Taobao. It also banned the sale of the equipment, merchandise and software used to mine the virtual currency.

Quote
Alibaba's actions are seen as a response to the People's Bank of China (PBoC) warning against the use of Bitcoin last month as it looks to IPO this year and attempts to rid its marketplace site of fake goods.

Heloo,

I deposited 15000 dogecoins to my cryptsy account.
My transaction have over 7 confirmation but not credited.
I see a diference in price of   cryptsy and c-cex.
c-cex 31 satoshi
cryptsy 42 satoshi.
Is good for sure profit.
But cryptsy not credit my deposit.
Is cryptsy scam?
everyone also knows that cryptsy indeed a scam, they might become the next mt GOX, many also say crptsy suffered hacker attacks, but still being investigated whether it was an attack from the inside or from the outside.

It is the next Mt Gox already. It claimed it was hacked 13,000 bitcoins in 2014 but did not tell the users.

It's identical to Mt Gox because Mt Gox is also still being investigated to find whether its hack was an attack from the inside or from the outside. The Japanese police say they *think* the Mt Gox attack came from the inside but they haven't said anything conclusive yet.

For anyone not having seen Lagarde from the IMF @ Davos 2016 yet, take a few minutes to listen. They sure are not laughing anymore, even when knowing how tiny little Bitcoin currently is. The cat is out of the bag and they know it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwkC8WaN5T4&feature=youtu.be&t=242

Lagarde raising her hand thinking that cash will no longer exist in 10 years time:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwkC8WaN5T4&feature=youtu.be&t=1822

Ten years ago there were people that thought cash would no longer exist by now, and the same applies to twenty years ago. I don't think cash will disappear that quickly. We had credit and debit cards decades ago, but they haven't completely replaced cash yet. Bitcoin could become more widely used, but I don't think it will ever replace cash.

What do you mean by physically cracked down? I have nothing to do with the darknet so I have to get news of anything happening to it here. The last big news I remember was when evolution closed because it said there was a new way for the feds to attack it. Have they devised another new way to attack the darknet?

I'm not being bearish on BTC, as a miner I want it to go up, I am just saying that in the short/medium term it will probably go down towards the $300 before going up towards the $500-$1,000,000.

The possible fork might drive the price back down. If it happens and gets messy it could go quite low. In February the next MtGox creditors meeting takes place, and there might finally be some news about what's going to happen to all the MtGox coins. If they get sold so the creditors can be paid back in fiat it could also rive the price down.

it is fully sync'd.

Have you attempted reindexing the wallet yet? You need to go to the debug window and type -rescan -reindex

The link below explains how using -rescan -reindex fixed a bitcoin wallet, but it works for litecoin too. Your wallet might need those commands to force it to rebuild its database using the blockchain it already downloaded.
