Long term is the smarter choice. Short term and day trading are too time consuming and also unhealthy. If you want to make a good profit without having to worry about prices 24/7 you should focus on projects with long term development and just wait for them to reach their goals. If you believe a coin will survive in the next 5-10 years then you wouldn't worry if the market goes down for a week or two. That's the smarter thing to do and it will allow you to see the potential of the coins.

The market right now is filled with big games and big players. We are just enjoying the show. In the following years mining won't be profitable in general. The costs and the damage it does to the environment are too high and not worth it. We believe the Proof of Stake (PoS) will be the Consensus Algorithm of the future (if a better one doesn't come out in the meanwhile). It's doesn't require nearly as much electricity, it requires an actual support for the coin/token/project in general and it's a lot easier for the newcomer to join the party. Do your own due diligence but don't rush in investing in expensive mining rigs. Best of luck to all ! 

It's hard to predict the future, but Ethereum is definitely going in the right direction, with the implementation of PoS. If they can transition to full PoS and add other features such as sharding, they can solve a lot of the problems of the crypto world in general and without a doubt, they can become the currency of the future. Projects like EOS also show a lot of promise but it's too early as well to make predictions about them. The only thing we can do right now is to grab the popcorn and enjoy the crypto ride.

In our opinion, in time more and more altcoins will stand out from the rest and can become independent in the following years. Those coins are mainly the PoS coins, as we believe, PoW coins will fall behind as their disadvantages are a lot more than their advantages and people will see that sooner or later. Their power right now is that people have already invested in mining rigs and don't want to admit the downward spiral as that would mean their investment will become worthless as well. Be careful with your investments, always do your own due diligence and good luck !

Generally PoS or PoW/PoS hybrid coins. PoS is the better algorithm as it is more energy efficient than PoW and also incentives - in PoW miners can mine the coin without owning it and only doing it for the profit. On the other hand in PoS stakers posses the coin, which means they have invested in the project and want it to succeed. This helps build a more stable community which will eventually lead to the long term growth of the said project. Focus on PoS coins when investing in cryptocurrencies and you will have higher chance of success on the market ! Good luck !

The smarter and safer choice would be ETH. With the upcoming implementation of PoS this is only good news for the project, as we believe that PoW will slowly but steadily die out in favor of more environmental-friendly and more scalable solutions. PoW is becoming less profitable with time and sooner or later it will die out or at least it will lose its status of top consensus algorithm.
