There doesn't any pool without sources. And Windows wallet may has virus Sad

That's right there is no pool yet so it's good old solo mining for now...

Everyone always yells virus when a new coin is launched so nothing new there.

Have you read the white paper by Alexander yet?

http://www.teamaircoin.org/whitepaper.pdf

It's very interesting what he has written there.

I think a lot of Aurora and VTC miners will start move to  this coin soon.

Well I mined few hours ~1500 AIR and feel stupid right now, if block reward will be changed to x10 or more later.

Well according to the OP, "... those who mined in the first 30 minutes recieved 48x more proportional coins than normal, those who mined in the first two hours have received between 4-20x more coins depending on what difficulty level they jumped in at."

I wouldn't call getting more coins than forecast stupid. Be happy that you mined more coins than otherwise.

still cant get the wallet to sync with that node...

addnode=46.249.59.220:54255

Try this node from the OP.

addnode=107.170.20.200

Wallet sync'd and solo mining with that one.

Weird thought maybe, but could the sudden increase in hashrate be the pandacoin crowd testing the settings?

(Everything about that coin feels wrong BTW... Hope for their miners' sake that I'm wrong.)

That sounds about right.

Pandacoin is saying they will use the vertminer so a lot of miners will be setting that up and then switching to Pandacoin pools when they go live.

We will know for sure if the hashrate drops a lot when Pandacoin launches.

Bring on Utopia!

If you're not mining and not buying what's the problem?

Why are you spending so much effort trying to discredit this coin?

If you have no personal stake in it why all the anger?

Personally I like what this coin stands for and I've pointed 3MHs towards its development.

I'm not mining or buying. I'm the one who can learn from his mistakes. So can smell transparent scam.

Also I have some inteligence and can focus on details of someones stories and see fishy stuff, and inconsistency of storytellers claims.

For some people HYIPs are obvious scams and other people fall for them over and over and lose their money. Inteligence and ability to learn from mistakes what differs these two groups of people.

So you're concerned that we don't fall for a possible scam and want to warn us.

That's a very valid reason and I thank you for bringing the points you make to our attention.

I'm however going to keep mining and following this coin. I only just started tonight. Pulled a miner of VTC for this one as out of all the ALTs this one has one hell of an interesting idea and even if all the details are not perfect right now, it doesn't really matter at this point in time. The 13 previous pages of this post indicate a lot of people who would like to give this coin a chance so we can all see what works and what doesn't. Maybe you will be proved right in time. I hope not, but in the mean time, I'm open to the possibility and I'm prepared to give this coin a chance to show us what it's made of. This is how evolution through open source works, my friend.

By the way, are you mining AUR?
No. I don't mine AUR. It won't get to reputed exchange with 50% premined and uncertain volume of giveaways.

Also if "risk seeking" investor appears, miners won't sell high volumes (as they mine very little) and won't sell cheap (as early birds they expect higher mining revenue comparing to LTC or DOGE mining). Only seller willing to sell for any volume for any price are the DEV's.

500 EUR might not look bad, but really. I showed my mother how to easily (2 clicks) rotate photo in ACDSEE, and everytime she wants to rotate photo, she had to ask me once again.
Airdrop of cryptocoin to whole population (from 1 day old kid to 90 yrs old man) is UTOPIA.

If the dev doesn't follow the rules he set out to do I could hard fork it and invalidate the premined coins. Is everyone ok with that?

Surely that would destroy the coin's whole declared purpose and uniqueness.

Only uniqueness is phony story for 50% premined.

DEV's have only vague claims about giveaway to all Icelanders. In reality, most of the Islanders WON'T claim their coins. In reality DEV's can't GUARANTEE anything.

GUARANTEEs!

You expect GUARANTEEs with crypto?

Think you got on the wrong bus.

I like the idea behind this coin.

It's unique in that the 50% premine is being given away to a country, Iceland.

If they take it up that's up to them at the end of the day.

How about letting this coin play out and lets see where it takes us, GUARANTED or not.

I'd like to see what happens either way, give it a chance will ya!

made a basic block explorer

copy from reddit post

I just whipped up a basic blockexplorer for AUR using bitcoin-abe.
It is or will be available at the following addresses:

* http://blockexplorer.auroracoin.eu (working)
* http://explorer.auroracoin.eu (waiting for DNS propagation)
* http://aurexplorer.info (waiting for domain registration)

I'm looking for donations to be able to improve the site make it more stable / reliable, improve the looks maybe add hashrate graph and/or other goodies

I would be very happy and motivated if people donated:

AUR: AL8vRddTujqaFJQ3feZpg1jYHz6Jv2Rkwc
BTC: 19JVSnxJx7rM8V55s6SqXNb7PHG7Q2pcj7

Thanks!

Feedback and suggestions are highly welcome!

reddit post: http://www.reddit.com/r/auroracoin/comments/1xljmr/httpblockexplorerauroracoineu_needs_your_help/

Thank you!

Sent some satoshis your way as I've only just started mining AUR and don't have any yet.

Do you think it would be possible to spruce up the visual apperance of the BE to give it an Icelandic theme?

The only thing I've needed to change for Vertcoin is thread concurrency. These seem to be the optimal ones for the cards I've tried so far:
R9 290: 24550
7950: 19712
5850: 5120

Thanks for the 5850 TC. 5120 seems to be the only one that works.

just started mining this and I was wondering if half of the speed you get running scrypt is normal? Also it really slows down the pc compared to scrypt.

my 5850 normally does about 320 kh/s and with this coin it does 160 kh/s, is this normal?

Yes VTC mines about 1/2 of straight scrypt so that looks right.

Anyone been able to get a evga gtx780ti with acx cooling to 640khash?

Highest I can get is around 400.  I'm just guessing different values now.  But the old version could get very close to 650
cudaminer -a scrypt:2048 -d gtx780ti -H 1 -l t15x16 -C 2 -i 0

For vertcoin getting 181khash/sec.  The gpu reaches 1.1Ghz when running cudaminer.  I should be getting over 650.  With the old version gpu would only get up to around 1000mhz.  So now I'm getting 100 more mhz but very bad hash rates.

Ratio of core clock / memory clock is very important. For me it can drop by 200kh/s on scrypt if I raise GPU clock by even 10Mhz above the sweet spot.

Yes this seems to be the case.

But guys and girls the talk about miner settings is on,

I chose to ran a pool, and as a result I have to deal with stuff like this, but if any of you are feeling particularly generous, and notice 2 payments very similar in size made to you around 15:30 (GMT/UTC) today which was when the double payout happened (they may also appear at a different time when they actually arrive with you - I'm not sure), I'd be hugely grateful if some of you might tip me a bit back: ViPBVm4sbXT38h9J23GkAWfNKiuPwVUYQX

Once again, sorry for the inconvenience and downtime.

sent some vtc for you

+1 even though I'm on p2pool for the last couple of days.

Thanks Boris for all your work, you're a star!

finally here it is

vertminer-0.5.3 released

windows build: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5n70hj3izjj64y1/vertminer-0.5.3.zip
github source: https://github.com/Bufius/vertminer-gpu.git

release notes:
Code:
Version 0.5.3 - 2 February 2014
- changed automatic TC calculation (again but still not finished / perfect...)
- increased max intensity to 21
- shaders are now used for intensity calculation
  --> option shaders is set: intensity calculation tries to align to shaders count (can increase performance but also decrease with low intensity)
  --> shaders NOT set: old cgminer intensity calculation is used
- opencl changed to keep speed with adaptive nfactor
- introduced first time dependent nfactor changes in code (not finally done yet)
- fix for ADL with R9 cards

lets see if we can get improved mining performance Smiley

Updated from 0.5.2 to 0.5.3 and working fine. Hash rate has increased 10khs per card, R9280x.

Cheers

by

Trying to solomine with modified CGminer reporting DIFF anywhere from 4 to 6

.BAT is

ultracoinminer --scrypt-jane -o 127.0.0.1:44101 -u xxxx -p xxxxx --thread-concurrency 8000 --worksize 256 --gpu-engine 800 --gpu-memclock 1300 --temp-target 86 --temp-overheat 90 --temp-cutoff 92 --gpu-fan 50-85 --auto-fan --intensity 15 --expiry 1 --queue 0 --scan-time 1 --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600

ultracoin.conf is

rpcuser=Pumpanddump
rpcpassword=Makememoney69
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=44101
port=44100
gen=0
server=1
listen=1

The modified Ultraminer in the OP is seems to be connecting to the wallet and I'm getting plenty of shares above target.  Diff is being reported anwhere from 4 to 6. I was under the impression that a share above target was an indication of a solved block but nothing is going into the wallet?  Am I doing something wrong?

Try using this value for the --sj-time setting: 1387769316

Why that sj-time instead of the advertised one "sj-time" : "1388361600", ?
