@admins

While I appreciate you posting on the forum when there is a major announcement added to https://www.bitfinex.com/pages/announcements, I think you should also send out an email to all Bitfinex.com users when there are major announcements.

I believe you sent an email a while back, perhaps it was about the heartbleed bug.

I don't think every user Bitfinex subscribes to this thread to get updates about announcements, and they must monitor https://www.bitfinex.com/pages/announcements themselves.  I believe every announcement on https://www.bitfinex.com/pages/announcements is worthy of sending a mass email to all users.  Every user should know about these important changes, whether or not they follow on the forum, or have a monitor on https://www.bitfinex.com/pages/announcements.

I am subscribed to this thread, but still miss important announcements, since not all announcements put on https://www.bitfinex.com/pages/announcements are mirrored here.

Every user should be notified of any changes.  It is very important for every user to know any and all changes. Thank you.

Same with me. Login is broken on IE11. Works with Chrome.

Logging in is working fine for me on Chrome. Broken in IE11 as well. The login button doesn't produce any new screen or redirect.

I am no expert in computer, but I still think if you have chance to use Chrome, why choose IE.

Now withdraw is 5 working days. Can you add cancel function to it? Now you don't pay very quickly. People may need to use their funds when pending.

About my case. my withdraw reach my account the fifth working days. Now same as bitstamp. No advantage.

right, it would be convenient to have the cancel function.

Sorry to suggest this, but I think to be fair, if there are no quota left, users who have not withdraw recently should have priority over users who withdraw recently.
i think this is the case happened right now. my friends' account withdraw 20k in only 3 days, and mine have been waited for 4 days, with a sign "processing".

The updated requirement is:

A – 2 X photo ID (passport and national ID card copy)
B - recent electrical bill / property tax / telephone (no other type accepted)
C - copy of a bank statement / bank account in your name - should be the same account from which you receive / send funds
D - occupation detail and source of income explained on the form

This is completely unacceptable. Looks like I'll be buying BTC or LTC and transferring out of Bitfinex soon, then.

I only have 1 ID (seriously) since I haven't bothered to renew my passport after it expired, so I can't do A.

It's 2014 not 1994 so my bank doesn't send me paper statements at all so I can't do C.

Also, D seems to sort under "none of their business", there is no reason they need to know what other income I have for me to withdraw what I've made from trading and lending at Bitfinex.

Bitfinex is with that essentially saying that they've now closed fiat withdraws.

Guess I'll have to change my signature too and update it to say "screwed exchange that denies fiat withdraws to most people".

Or maybe I'll decide to apply for a passport and look for an outdated bank that operates like it's the 1980s but I doubt that. It seems like a bit much just to use an exchange who've now completely submitted to the fascist world order.

Let me point out a few simple concepts here:

1) We don't observe AML/KYC rules  because we like to give you a hard time, we do it because we don't want to be shut down by local authorities and have all your money confiscated ( Liberty Reserve anyone?)
2) We just require extra documents to accounts that show abnormal patterns of withdrawals or any strange behavior.
3) Less than one month ago MtGox exploded and this drew massive attention to every trading platform. Bitfinex is now the second platform in the world in the BTC/USD pair, so it's perfectly normal for us to try to be scrupulous in our procedures.
4) If you have no passport, a photo ID and a driving license will do.
5) We accept bank statements in electronic format (PDF)
6) The same people complaining now were also complaining back in june 2013 when we pulled out of MtGox.
They called me paranoid, chicken, you name it. All this people didn't show up when Gox collapsed to just say thank you. Not one word, nothing, zero.

Time will tell who's is right between who is trying to comply with the rules and who is just ranting about a world that doesn't exist yet.
Platforms are centralized entities and must comply with the rules.
Anybody not getting this should seek for a better place to trade (and eventually end up losing all of his coins).

Yes, I wrote it again. And the more I write it the more I mean it.

Have a good day

Giancarlo
Bitfinex Team

I 2nd this. to the truth, I made a withdrawl last thurday. on Saturday, I received the additional KYC form, and submitted the documents following hours. On Monday, I received the amount.

as far as I know:
1. the english versions of huobi.com and okcoin.com are under construction; okcoin has registered an offshore company for this business.
2. both of these websites received 10 million dollar investment in last month or two;
3. btcchina.com used to rank 1st in China's market, not any more simply because it keeps changing policy on fees.
4. i still think BFX is very competitive in off China's market. but the administrative seems lack of incentive to be more competitive. they don't really care if one day's trading volume only hits thousands, part of which done in bitstamp.
5. if i were them, secure the market before those aforementioned force them to.

Ending the connection to MtGox turned out to be a great decision.  I know there was regular criticism of it.
I happened to trade in mtgox last March. Then it took me 4 month to apply for a withdraw of money without success. so I told everyone not to trade there in any situation. I guess I am lucky.

Anyone having connection problems to BFX?
I do have the problem in withdrawl. it is wierd, since it happened to me for the first time that the site said withdrawl is compeleted but don't shown in blockchain or i dont receive it. However, I have filed a suppourt ticket by mailing them. I am very faithful that Bitfinex will take good care of this problem as they have done in the past proving the reputation.

Just wait and have my finger crossed.

PS: i thought i was the only one who experiencing such missing withdraw.

Happen to me too, it went through after 12 hours when they did a manual check. So I guess just be patient.

it's been more than 24 hours. maybe bitfinex can take a look at txid "8da6dee43d0233ccff23b5decdabe3b12c166445e12852ddd490abbd2eb83212".
What if you search for your address instead of the txid? Someone could still be changing txids on the bitcoin network, so if you're looking for a transaction, best not to look at txid but instead search for the receiving address.

And it would be nice if someone from Bitfinex would explain why people are having these deposit/withdrawal problems. Uncertain times and all, no need to make people more nervous than they already are by not communicating. Or, if any of the Bitfinex users have heard an explanation through contacting support, please don't hesitate to put it here Smiley

Hello guys,

I will sum up everything about our withdrawals (and deposits) system to answer questions:

First we tend to keep low reserves on hot wallets, which is why in times of "uncertainties" with a lot of withdrawals like these days, your withdrawal can go back into "Pending approval" state after being approved, until we replenish the hot wallet (up to 12 hours). Paranoia is our policy (for those who remember when we left MtGox in June last year Smiley)
Secondly, and this is what happened here, sometimes a bitcoin withdrawal will fail to be accepted on the network. It happens rarely but does happen. In this case the system will still assume the withdrawal is completed, and you have to contact us by email to support@bitfinex.com so that *a human* verifies if the withdrawal has actually failed, in which case it will be sent again.

For the deposits failing, we made a few adjustment today as sometimes when a lot of transactions occurred we would missed a deposit.

Since I'm on the topic, we do not track withdrawals by TXID so the "falsely failed" withdrawal exploit can not be used against us. Furthermore, we do reconciliate our assets and liabilities every hour in order to quickly spot if a "leak" of crypto-currencies would be happening for whatever reasons. This is something obvious to do for an exchange and I didn't think I would need to mention it, but I think I have to point it out considering recent events.

Finally, if you have an issue on your account, it is better to send us an email at support@bitfinex.com, this will be treated quicker than in this thread.

Thanks for your renewed trust and helping us being one of the top bitcoin exchanges in term of volumes.

Thank you and have a good day
Raphael

http://bitell.sinaapp.com/show.php?tid=1125&wap=1

刚才从7000跌到6000的原因。因为利空已经出了,我建议可以买半个。

受到央行关注反倒是个好事,长期来看。
