The new version is finally ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.8a from here:

https://phoenixminer.info/downloads/PhoenixMiner_5.8a_Windows.zip
https://phoenixminer.info/downloads/PhoenixMiner_5.8a_Linux.tar.gz

Changes in version 5.8a :
  • Added lock core clock
  • Fixed an issue causing crashing with some RTX 3060/3080/3090 cards
  • Implemented new "turbo" kernels (-clkernel 3) for AMD Polaris cards that can work with the current DAG sizes over 4 GB. Note that -clkernel 3 uses double the VRAM and will
provide slightly faster hashrate with slightly higher power consumption. You can use the -rvram command-line parameter to specify how much VRAM to be left unused
  • Increased the maximum supported DAG epoch to 600 (i.e. until about Sep 2023)
  • Implemented full hardware control for AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux. Note that with these cards under Linux you need to specify relative core voltage: e.g. -
cclock -50 will set the core voltage to be 50 mV under the default value
  • Added ROCr kernels for Vega, Radeon VII and Navi cards. With these kernels you will be able to run these cards with Linux drivers 20.45 and later but the performance will
be lower than with the older PAL drivers and kernels. We recommend using AMD Linux driver 20.30 for all cards except RX6900/6800/6700
  • Fixed an issue causing crashing with some RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux (there is no need to run these cards with -clkernel 0 anymore)
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers up to 21.8.1. Note that Radeon VII cards will not work with drivers 21.6.1 or higher - you need to use older drivers for proper
    operation of these cards
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers up to 21.20 (use older drivers for Vega or Radeon VII cards as they will not work with 21.20). Note that the latest 21.30 drivers are
not supported (and the initial testing shows that even the older Polars cards are not working properly with them, so avoid 21.30 for now)
  • Numerous other fixes and small improvements

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.8a

Re: Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining
by

I think one inherent issue with Steemit.com is that in reality, blogging isn't all that fun! In order to blog unique content daily, one must be disciplined, dedicated, motivated, have a positive attitude, let alone be able to write well, be creative, funny, unique, inspiring, etc. Google "how to be a blogger" and there are thousands of websites talking about the discipline and dedication. Blogging is a serious undertaking!

Another issue is that the golden days of Steem being $5 are probably over. It may climb back up one day, but not anytime in the near or not so near future. So when you have an author (like me @queenmountain) who joined in when Steem value was bursting at the seams, raking in votes that were $20-$60 each was kind of typical! Those votes now are in the $3-$6 range. And now with the hard fork of only 5 votes per user at 100% power, well those precious votes are dwindling big time.

However, the concept of Decentralized Social Media is just beginning to sizzle.  Decentralized internet is on the rise and will reach the masses sooner or later. My speculation is in the next 3-5 years, alt-coin will skyrocket as these coins will fuel the decentralization movement. That is what I am sticking around for! And Steemit will be a big part of that movement, if it can hold on for the wild ride ahead.

Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation

Burst is totally undervalued. From what I can see, Burst is the only HDD-only miner which amounts to HUGE savings of energy, less stress on machines, and doesn't require massive GPUs with expensive cooling systems. It can become a household name.

I think alt-coins are going to explode over the next couple years with the upcoming wave of decentralized social media platforms. Burst will be a huge contender with the green mining aspect and its SUPER EASY to use. It is something people can wrap their brains around and also implement on their computers without buying a ton of equipment.

I could see Burst rising to the stars. Go Burst! I am happy to say that I am plotting my first 3TB now.

Re: [ANN][MSK]MaskNetwork - the decentralized social network that pay users to post

Web Devs: MaskNetwork is full of bugs and dead links (I am using MaskBuzz.com)

1. Lots of links go back to the login page.
2. The buttons are dead when trying to update profile info and photo
3. When trying to post, I cannot enter in my wallet address (dropdown is cutoff)
4. Lots of things that should be clickable are not such as usernames in posts. Should click to their profile.

Also, I cannot figure out the simplest of usability:

1. I cannot find any good way to navigate posts. all I see are three tabs: Top 24 Hours, Top 7 Days, Top 30 Days. Is that it? Does that show all the posts made?? I am confused. Is there a directory of post categories? Newest?

2. I am unsure how to access user profiles, or at least a database of users.

3. At this point I cannot even create a post as I cannot assign a wallet address (I think).

Also, there are different "nodes" that look exactly the same. This is really confusing to me. Why would there be identical websites?? Is there different blogs on these nodes? I tried another node and the dead links were even worse than maskbuzz!

To me, this website is unusable. But, maybe someone can answer at least a couple of these questions to explain how to use it. Maybe I am missing something??  Huh

Ill just keep buying slowly.

Every day i get more coins to the big pump, easy money!
Hold your coins guys!
=D

That is exactly what I am doing. I am buying up AMP slowly but surely as I think the price is undervalued a bit. I am spending my STEEM interest and my SBD from my Steem posts on AMP. Steem is like the pre-curser to Synereo. Looking forward to being an author and front end user with Synereo and also setting up my own node.

So . . . I have combed thru this forum, Synereo's website, and the web and CANNOT find any information about MINING AMP!!!

WTH?? There has GOT to be a way to mine, because if there is not, it is basically a CENTRALIZED coin, which would make no sense.  Huh Huh

Can someone give me more info on this? Thanks.

I have been spending all of my STEEM and SBD on AMP, lol.

I looked at your posts on Steemit. You have broken images and your content is written poorly, not to mention that you are writing on topics that are too oversaturated. You can beg for votes on here but it doesn't matter because you can have 1000 minnows vote for you and you won't get a penny.

Sorry dude, but it's obvious you are not gifted to be an author. A good solution for you is to maybe mine steem. Even though it's crashing, lol.

Mining Synereo's AMP? Investing My SBD into AMP? Help a gal out!
by
queenmountain
on 26/08/2016, 13:15:54 UTC
Hello BitCoinTalkers! My name is GiGi and I am also known as QueenMountain on Steem. I have been fascinated with crypto for years now, I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the whole mining thing, but that is ancillary.

So I am an author on Steem, I have also mined some Steem (oh boy I got a whole one steem from it woohoo) but I am making steady Steem Dollars (SBD) from my content. At first I was all super excited about it and was investing my Steem Dollars into Steem and then powering up. But then I starting doing some research and there are certainly red flags going off about the infrastructure of Steem (oh and not to mention that the vast majority of Steem is held by the owner who is powering down and tanking the value, decentralized my ass! But I digress). So I have decided to power down my Steem Power. Originally I was long on Steem but now I am short. Very short.

Synereo has caught my eye and appears to be much more stable and promising. So I am sniffing around and finding lots of information. So my question is: How do I mine AMP? I am assuming mining for the public has not started yet. I have a smidgen of techie skills just need some guidance.

Also, I am thinking about buying AMP with my SBD I earn from my content. What do y'all think about that? Investing in AMP?

Sad story here! I was all into Bitcoin oh maybe about five years ago. It was $50 at the time and I thought, hmm. Maybe I should buy some, and then I was like, nah, it is kinda expensive. A few months later it shot up to $1200 (kicking myself in the pants forever!) So I missed that boat entirely and it was right in front of my face.

The same thing happened with Steem, I was a newbie when Steem was at $3 only like a month ago. I was like, oh boy! So all my Steem Dollars that I earned from my content, I rolled into Steem and powered up. Now its like at $1, well a bit over. Boo.

I DO NOT want that to happen again! And I am feeling like I am ahead of the Synereo curve here! But not for long!

I hope this all finds you well  Smiley
