Re: Is taxation theft?

Taxation is not theft for the same reason sex is not always rape, there is consent.

Where is the consent in taxation? It is similar to rape. The government decides the tax rates, and the citizens have to pay. It doesn't matter whether they want to pay or not.
Taxation is not theft for the same reason sex is not always rape, there is consent.

Coerced consent is not really consent. Governments use force and threats now instead of the will or consent of the governed. Like Bill Cosby with his romances, there are very few complaints but calling it consent is a stretch.

you are free to leave your country or to go live in nature, but if you want the shared benefits of a modern society, then you have to contribute in the form of taxes to upkeep this society.

The IRS is definitely overstepping its bounds. I hope it gets massively downscaled and its role diminished, as it has already been abused by sitting presidents to stifle free speech (Obama and right-wing groups in 2013)

Re: What's your opinion of gun control?

It's not a gun or no gun thing, it's entirely dependent on culture. In most traditional western style european and european descendant countries, crime as a whole is low amongst those ethnic groups. The problem is either rooted in poverty or in increased crime by minorities.

See: Switzerland, Idaho, Wyoming for proper examples of nearly all-european regions with gun freedom and Chicago, LA, and Nigeria for non-european regions with restricted gun control.

"average" fee in eth is ~$0.50 because some transactions for expensive smart contracts are high.

the median eth fee for a transactions is roughly ~$0.04

it's also way more decentralized than bitcoin

Nah. It has no real discernible features aside from being a meme. It's just rising since every other crypto's rising.
