Re: Does playing brainless gambling games makes one dull?
by

I think it depends on each person's interests. I currently prefer slot gambling, where winning is purely based on luck, as there's no need for strategy or anything else that forces the brain to think. I just wait for a good spin and win. However, even so, I don't get bored of playing it over and over again, unless the game lasts long enough, then I get bored. But the option I do other than stop playing is sometimes I turn to games that are not the type of gambling.

Much more accurately, slot gambling requires no skill whatsoever; we can simply determine whether each spin is good or bad. This is certainly quite easy for anyone to do. It's true, however, that winning ultimately depends on luck.

Re: Is Bitcoin Gambling a big opportunity or a big trap?
by

on 29/08/2025, 21:59:08 UTC
The big question for me now is, do we consider bitcoin gambling sites a big opportunity for the people or a big trap that will leave many young people addicted and financially broke?
I’m gonna have to say neither. Gambling is not a big opportunity for one to make money but it also doesn’t exactly mean that it will leave people addicted immediately and their lives will be ruined. It still depends on the person how they can use gambling in their life whether it is to entertain themselves or to ruin themselves?

It all depends on how they approach gambling. The main reason is generally the hope of winning a bet because they want a big jackpot. However, what can lead to addiction is the ease of accessing gambling sites from the palm of their hand, simply from their smartphone.
However, we cannot blame gambling itself, because the development of digital technology is increasingly sophisticated, and it all depends on how each individual can use it wisely.

Re: Do you have gambling friends or you prefer to be alone.

I have a coworker whom I consider my best friend, and yes, we both enjoy gambling, but even so, I prefer to gamble alone. Even when I'm with him and I want to gamble, I do it alone without showing it because I'm more comfortable gambling alone, after all. But I always tell him about the results, and my friend does the same.
Something I like to do with my friend is remind each other not to overdo it when gambling, because we have other activities to attend to as well.

It's much better to do it alone, as doing it together can often disrupt concentration and lead to feedback that doesn't align with our expectations. The key is to remind each other not to overspend. However, the most enjoyable part is if one of you is lucky enough to win the game, you can treat each other to celebrate.

Re: preparation to start gambling
by
radjie
on 28/08/2025, 22:24:11 UTC
Before you start gambling, the first thing you should do is ask yourself whether your intention for gambling is simply to seek entertainment or to seek profit, hoping to get rich quickly?
This is important, so try as much as possible to lower your expectations before entering gambling. Have a basic understanding of the impact of profits and losses in gambling. Once you have that, then when you experience a loss, it won't be a significant problem, and when you get a win, consider it a bonus.

The key is to be able to bear all the risks, one of which is being prepared to lose the money you're betting, because no gamble guarantees a win. Understanding this concept means you're ready to gamble.

Re: Bankroll management is not a strategy.
by

on 27/08/2025, 18:45:39 UTC
In gambling in general and in sports betting in particular, bankroll management is very important. It is really important because it helps to avoid financial disaster. But if you play not only for fun and thrills, then we should also remember about strategy. Many people implicitly try to replace strategy with bankroll management. But I think you will agree with me. We forget about strategies all the time. Bankroll management is not a strategy. Bankroll management only helps you not to lose your bankroll immediately. You will lose your bankroll gradually, slowly, but still you will not avoid losing your entire bankroll, because most likely you do not want to know anything about strategies or even replace them with bankroll management.
Do you agree with me? Or do you think that bankroll management is a strategy?

Setting a gambling budget isn't a winning strategy, rather, it's about avoiding the risk of excessive losses. Bankroll management is likely only practiced by those who gamble purely for fun, winning or losing doesn't matter, the important thing is enjoying the thrill of the game. This is very different from someone who gambles hoping to win, they'll employ various strategies and efforts to achieve their desired winnings.

Re: gambling and divorce
by

on 27/08/2025, 18:16:45 UTC

so aside from gambling responsibly, will you agree that we should disclose our gambling habits or is it not the business of our spouses? does gambling really have the capacity to break up a marriage or a family?

People who gamble secretly without their partner's knowledge usually won't be honest about the income they get from their work or other things. Because usually some people who are married need their finances to be known by their partners (women), if he is honest about using his money for gambling, his partner will most likely not allow it; therefore, many men gamble secretly without their wives' knowledge. However, some of them also become addicted to gambling so they become irresponsible and even reduce the nominal amount of money that should be given to their wives in full but use a lot of it for gambling. This can certainly cause arguments and even end in divorce.

Re: Taking risks responsibly.
by

"Taking risks responsibly" is an interesting phrase. We cannot avoid risk, and we cannot not take risks either. But excessive and stupid risk is not needed, it only brings us closer to failure. In the end, a smart player must choose a certain balance. This is how the phrase "responsible risk" is born. It may sound funny, because when you take risks, you put yourself at the mercy of the elements, you become dependent on luck. However, by adjusting many parameters of your risk, you can make it responsible. Here we can see an analogy with "responsible gaming" and a "responsible player" who knows that he is taking a risk, he does it consciously and he manages his risk as much as possible in order to reduce the risk of adverse consequences, minimize it and increase the probability of success. Do you like the phrase "responsible risk"? What meaning do you put into this concept? Is your risk responsible? How many players, in your opinion, have responsible risk?

Sometimes, many people still gamble recklessly to place bets in the pursuit of greater winnings. They are aware of the risks, but this is only done by those who are too bold to take risks in pursuit of luck. On the other hand, when making decisions, we must also be willing to take risks, but this is not intended for gambling. Therefore, taking risks in gambling must be done responsibly, because the consequences of losing far outweigh those of winning.

Re: What do gamblers have in common?
by
radjie
on 26/08/2025, 15:52:35 UTC

As a general dynamic, I'd like to know what you do when you're not gambling. I mean, I don't expect you to tell me about your life. The question is more focused on: What activity you do is above gambling? I mean, something you prioritize in your life more than gambling, or what you like to do. What would make you stop watching the Champions League final, for example?

Of course, working is my top priority every day, as it's about making money. For me, gambling is fine as long as it's not a major priority, as it's not a way to make money. I only gamble when I have free time and extra money. Therefore, my gambling is controlled, preventing me from becoming addicted, as I have other, more productive activities.

There’s a popular saying that birds of a feather flock together. Does this apply to your gambling experience? What I mean is, do you have more gambling friends with whom you can share your earnings or strategy, or do you prefer to be on your own, not telling anyone that you gamble?

It all depends on the environment. If I have friends gambling in the area, they're usually always brainstorming strategies to win. However, when I'm with my family, I gamble in secret, worried that if my younger siblings or children see me gambling, they'll be curious and try gambling too.

Re: Real play and Fun play
by
radjie
on 22/08/2025, 18:07:19 UTC
Recently I noticed that some casinos offer an option they call 'play for fun' and 'real play', which are also the same things as 'demo mode' and 'real funded account play mode'.

Now my question for the casinos which label demo mode playing as 'fun' is, does it mean that those who place bets with real money are not having fun and are just after chasing for a chance to increase their staked money, or what?

Demo is meant to learn how the game works while giving you that gambling experience and entertainment, but referring to it as 'fun play alone' makes real bettors, to me, fall under the category of desperate gamblers.

Demo mode games are one way casinos entice users to become real players. Demo mode games are often very easy to win. This is likely a casino strategy to lure users into investing real money. However, as we know, winning big isn't as easy as winning in demo mode. This can be considered a trap for any casino. People who understand this won't be tempted to play demo mode just for fun, but will choose to use real money for a more exciting experience, both for entertainment and to try their luck.

Re: Addiction in gambling
by

on 22/08/2025, 17:27:20 UTC
I know of someone who is so addicted in gambling.who spend his time and all his money in gambling.
Which he is finding difficult to stop or control, irrespective of the consequences that surrounds it, such as relationship issues, lack of finance and emotional breakdown, many people go through so many risks just to be able to fund that lifestyle and majority of them are using gambling as there day to day activities (they make it their job) this set of people or person can loss friends, family and relationship.
Because all there focuses are on gambling, when you come across this kind of people. "all you need is to counsel them" because it's beneficial

Advising someone addicted to gambling is easy, but most people won't accept our advice. One factor is their mental health. Furthermore, they lack other activities, such as work, that could generate income. In my opinion, if we want to successfully help someone addicted to gambling break their habit, we need to provide a solution by providing them with a job. They will think that if they have no money at all, working and keeping busy will be the main solution.

Re: Would the gambling industry survive if people only played for fun only?
by
radjie
on 21/08/2025, 18:02:14 UTC
Let me explain the thread title. I know a lot of us here would say we should be gambling for fun, but in reality most people don’t gamble just for fun, they do it mainly for profit. Even if they lose, they keep coming back because they hope to eventually become profitable in gambling.

But what if people stop aiming for profit and gamble only for fun, what do you think would be the impact on the gambling industry?

Will we still see it growing or will the industry shrink?

The gambling industry will continue to grow, even though some people consider gambling simply for fun. However, the reality is that most people gamble to try their luck by any means they can in pursuit of winning. Although they lose more often than they win, the thing that drives most people to gamble is curiosity and to keep doing it just to chase a win.

Re: Gambling Wins, Losses, and lessons learned
by
radjie
on 21/08/2025, 17:41:27 UTC
Always learn something new no matter the condition, even if you lose, win or have both, life is not as we thought sometimes in gambling, we can't be doing something that is not right and expect from it the best output, in gambling, we should know that it's a must to lose and we often go in loss than to win whenever we are playing a bet, the reason why that we should endeavor to always have fun and make it our priority each time we are gambling, no matter the condition for winning or losing.

If we realize this, we understand the consequences of gambling, which is quite clear: losses are more common than wins. Therefore, there's nothing wrong with gambling just for fun. Even if it's considered a waste of money, at least the capital invested is determined and not excessive. Most importantly, you can feel satisfied with the game.

Re: How many hours do you play in slots?
by

on 20/08/2025, 18:19:29 UTC
For me, I sometimes play for hours and really enjoy the game, but there are times when my eyes start to hurt, especially when I’m watching with so much excitement. It feels like it’s not healthy anymore. What advice would you give to those who can relate to my experience?
It is correct that gambling affects a lot of excitement whether it is winning or losing. Both types whether winning or losing on gambling create excitement and it may turn into physical issues. It may affect me too much when I gamble and only for that reason do I often stop gambling. Even when I win in gambling it makes me addicted and I lose attraction of my daily offline tasks also along with my physical condition it may affect my mental condition too.

It's true that sometimes we lose control when we're too engrossed in gambling, leaving behind other activities that might be far more beneficial. In reality, this is always felt by most people if they consider gambling to fill their free time or seek entertainment. In contrast, people who gamble to make money will simply leave gambling when all their money is gone and all that's left is daydreaming and regret.

Re: Is it important to gamble even when you know your win are not guaranteed .
by
radjie
on 20/08/2025, 17:30:49 UTC
A lot of new gamblers sees it as a do or die affair if they don't win their games and that is why they turn out to be more addicted in gambling because they keep on chasing their losses and ends up becoming a liability/ burden to their families, now the question is must you gamble to make money?

If the goal of gambling is to make money, they will naturally be dissatisfied with the opportunity for a small win. After winning, they will always feel optimistic about achieving a much bigger win, but ultimately end up with nothing. Therefore, if someone's mindset is to make gambling a source of income, this is certainly a wrong decision. They will become increasingly addicted because they are always hoping for a win that is certainly not guaranteed.

Re: What are your thoughts on cockfighting?
by
radjie
on 19/08/2025, 22:44:31 UTC

Cockfighting is extremely popular in my country, the Philippines. In fact, it's a multi-billion peso industry, and if it were to be shut down, many ordinary citizens would be affected. It's said that cockfighting existed even before the Spanish conquest, which is why I believe it's deeply embedded in our culture and tradition, making it difficult to simply put an end to it.

Although many people say that cockfighting is cruel to animals, setting that issue aside and focusing on the event itself, I find it incredibly thrilling. The matches can be highly addictive—especially if you have a genuine passion for these birds.

Your thoughts?

Cockfighting has been around for a long time, especially in several Asian countries. However, this type of gambling is clearly not recommended today. Besides attracting large crowds, this type of gambling is extremely torturous for the animals, even leading to their death. Those involved in cockfighting gambling should be given criminal penalties, as this type of gambling can create a disturbance and also intentionally cause the death of the animals, which are often displayed in public.

Re: Taken loan to gamble is very risky, what do you think?
by
radjie
on 19/08/2025, 22:24:42 UTC
I know a lot of post has been made in this gambling board and I don't know if such has been created, but what I want to say is a situation that happened to a close friend

My friend is a gambler, a serious one for that matter. Some days ago he asked me to borrow him money to gamble and I told him not to borrow money to gamble but gamble with what he can afford to lose but he refused. Instead he went ahead to borrow from another person to pay back with interest, gues what?
He loss the game and now he is owing Capital and interest together that will surely be paid now he keeps blaming me that If I had given the loan to him, that he would have just owe me the capital without interest.

>>>>Now the question remain that Is it good to take loan to gamble?

From the general public's perspective, gambling is often considered a negative activity and not good if done excessively. Furthermore, taking out loans solely to gamble is clearly very risky. Even professional gamblers can't always win, as gambling doesn't guarantee a return on invested capital or the possibility of winning many times over.

Re: is age a factor?
by
radjie
on 18/08/2025, 04:48:01 UTC
scatter game or this gambling game in the philippines that the government had to intervene in between because it was getting very popular and many citizens are gett addicted

some said that it’s because the philippines is a poor country and that’s why they get addicted easily but is it possible that most gamblers who got addicted are old people past retirement and have nothing else to do anymore?

In some cases, people addicted to gambling usually come from the lower middle class. Their mindset is easily influenced by the desire to make money quickly. This is usually due to the influence of those around them who regularly gamble and share their winnings. Many lower middle class individuals try their luck with gambling, forcing themselves to spend capital just to gamble. Similarly, as they age, they are unable to engage in any productive activities, so gambling becomes a way to relieve boredom. However, not all elderly people can do this; the majority of those addicted to gambling remain among the poor.
