Oh, and a special fuck you to the folks at NCIX who sold me all these fucking defective cards and refused to replace them. Fucking go crawl in an oven you fucking Jews!

you should be permanently banned for that horrendously racist comment you pathetic POS!  here's hoping you get ripped off a lot more in coming years, since that's exactly what a sorry excuse for a human being like you deserves.

I for one liked his jew reference

What a surprise, you sound just as bright as him. Fortunately your specie is dwindling but frankly if you could go and crawl back under that rock, we would be most grateful.

RX480 Nitro OC with 113-2E3470U.X5W 256Kb bios - Nightmare, pls help!

I have a miner with 7 original RX 480 Nitros (113-2E3470U.S52) with samsung memory. Those were fantastic, ran weeks with a reboot after settling on 29.5 mhs bios found on these forums. Then one packed up and i got sent a replacement, an "upgrade" as the original non-OC was not available anymore.
this new card has Samsung memory as well but I soon realised they were vastly different in so far as:

  • 256 KB bios instead of 512
  • can not overclock above 2050 reliably with the memory straps from the other card, where as my other cards are running 2150
  • Uses less power at the wall even though GPUZ tells me the core part is using more, so memory must be using less
  • It produces at lot less heat than the original cards, probably pointing again to a lower memory voltage

This card runs for anything between 2 and 12 hours before falling over. Is there anybody with experience with it? Is it a different type of Samsung memory?
Any help or pointer would be greatly appreciated!

it all depends on how cool you keep them as I have them setup to auto fan to a certain temp. It can be fairly loud when the room is hot but they do get fairly quiet when I have my ventilation working (fan sucking). The 7990 are noisy compared to the others, that is for sure. The 7950 and 280 are most of the time very quiet

[WTS] [UK] GPU Miners with VAT invoice (VAT can be reclaimed)
by

I am looking to sell my GPU miners since I need to start being away from home in the future and will not be able to look after after them.
I am NOT looking to sell individual parts
I am based in Surrey, KT14

I am starting with 2 miners, both open air frames, GPU's mounted vertically. They are running EthOS for which the license will be transferred with the sale. EthOS is a Linux-based distro focused on Mining. it allows for central management, with regular one-click updates with the latest drivers and miners. As of 1.1.9 it supports ethminer, sgminer-gm, claymore, zcash-miner, optiminer-zcash, sgminer-gm-xmr, claymore-zcash and by extension can also mine Expanse. it also supports autotrading. More info here:

http://ethosdistro.com

Of course ethOS could be substituted with Windows if required.
All my miners are plug and play. Plug in an ethernet cable, set your wallet address and select your pool. ethOS offers an externally available web interface to monitor your rigs for performance and temps and there is also an phone app to monitor all aspects of your rigs and get notified if something is amiss.
I will also give away the airframe 3D design so that more can be built easily.

All my rigs below have been designed to max out the number of GPU's so they are 2 HD7990's for each miner amongst a mix of other AMD GPU's, maxing out the 8 GPUs limit of the driver. They also all use the great ultra stable MSI Gaming 5 motherboard, which ensure the miners are not plagued by the usual MB instability.

RIG 1: SOLD

RIG 2:

  • Double PSUs, 1850W total
  • 2 x HD 7990
  • 2 x HD 7970
  • 1 x R9 280
  • 1 x R9 280x
  • MSI Gaming 5 Motherboard with 7 PCI-e slots
  • 16GB Kingspec SSD
  • Celeron G1850 2.9Ghz
  • 8GB RAM

CAUTION: Following a BIOS update I have just lost one the GPU on one of the HD 7990, I am not sure if the GPU is recoverable. The performance and price will reflect this.

This miner gives 1712 H/s on ZEC for 1500 Watts at the wall and 95.4 Mh/s on ETH for 1275 Watts at the wall

RIG 3:

  • Double PSUs, 1850W total
  • 2 x HD 7990
  • 2 x R9 280
  • 1 x R9 390
  • 1 x R9380x
  • MSI Gaming 5 Motherboard with 7 PCI-e slots
  • 16GB Kingspec SSD
  • Celeron G1840 2.8Ghz
  • 4GB RAM

Perf: 1900 H/s on ZEC for 1650 Watts at the wall and 132 Mh/s on ETH for 1535 Watts at the wall

I am open to sensible offers. Those miners are plug and play and very stable, after spending months trying different components/OS/drivers and designs.
I would prefer a pickup but I am happy to investigate shipping.

Best place for selling 2nd hand GPU rigs?
by
raidersan
on 13/01/2017, 09:15:53 UTC
Where would you guys advice me to look for selling my 2nd hand rigs? Setup my own store (godaddy,..) or best to stick with eBay?
I have 5 to part with, I have to give them up as I am now travelling most of the time and cannot look after them anymore
What kind of escrow would you recommend?
I am assuming that shipping would done with GPU's and PSU removed and packed individually but frame still assembled? Any courier recommendation for big heavy parcels?

Thanks in advance!

GPU's can be taken out very easily, with a bit of force. Take out both of the GPU's, and try checking and making them work one by one. Just don't place both of the GPU's at once. Google around any tutorial/video if you're taking it out for the first time, it's easy.

Raja, I cannot seem to video a tutorial on getting the GPU out, do you remember where you saw this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysk8d_kRg0o

This is how to remove a card out of a motherboard.... Joke?
I was talking about removing a GPU (the chip) out of the HD7990 PCB (the card)!

Is the device manager able to find it? Check it... Device manager is in the control panel. I'd recommend you to un-install any drivers currently installed and then re-install the updated drivers.

No, it only sees one GPU, same in Linux.

are you have trying to use only 1 vga ? how about the fan ? if the vga not listed it's seem the conector is eror or maybe your vga is dead

VGA, you mean GPU? Of course I am trying to mine with both GPUs

Try to take out the one which is working, and place the one which is not working in that slot. See if it is showing any display at all. That's a sign of a ... dead GPU by the way. Hopefully it's not dead.

Can the GPU be taken out? I thought they were soldered in.
I will try that, do you which one is slave? The one above the PCI-e connector?

You may flip the BIOS switch on top of the card to see if it is BIOS related. Or you can change the PCIE slot.

No effect!

One of my HD7990 is only showing 1 of the 2 GPUs. When I try to flash with atiflash it also only list the slave GPU.
Sometimes the little green led by the slot is lit, but not always.
Is there anything I could try?

Thanks in advance.

I saw the same with the 8Gb 480's. ETH became slow because of the DAG size and the 3Gb on the older GPU's but is back on par with EXP with the 8Gb GPUs

Definitely,

there are no doubts SHAPESHIFT is suitable place to shift EXP.

That will be next step to build stronger brand.

Good initiative.

Nothing new on the SHAPESHIFT front? I have been hoping for this since this message in March

Ok thanks for that, can you provide a link for a reliable vendor of those?
