Well, in that case, Bankera white paper is worthless, less than the paper I printed it on.

really? you are actually PRINTING white papers?
It is 2017 - you should save the environment and read it from the screen.
Or at least, read it briefly and print it only when you see it is not worthless.

I am not investing because their numbers do not stack up.

Also, they let us believe more than what they actually are.
Scammers or not, when did you folks last see a company to make £0 - $100m profit in three years?

lol, are you aware of the fact you are on BITCOIN forum in 2017?

every second guy here earned $100m in last 3 years (maybe not every second but sure there are lots of them)

Dude, the Vytautas Karalevičius in the link you posted was, according to the website you linked to, born in 1952. You mean to tell me that the guy in the picture was born in 1952 ? Really ?

This guy is 65 years old ?

How stupid do you think people are ?

There are other explanations.
The picture can be old - it was taken in 1972
OR
He is vamnpire and does not get old!

EDIT: his shirt and glasses look really ahead of time though. If his company is also that ahead of time, I am starting to think about investing in ICO.
However, if he is a vampire I would advise you all to stay out of this ICO.

I like NEM project, but I just fear that with MasterNode and POI, coins will be more centralized to just a number of people. Not good for long-term development

Actually the opposite will happen. Every time the price suddenly increases some supernodes cash out and take profit. If the number of supernodes decreases too much they will lower the required balance to fund one. This increases distribution of XEM and thus increases decentralization.

The more the price increases, the more early adopters will cash out increasing the spread of distribution. The higher the price goes, the harder it is to accumulate as well.

I also think that PoS is superior to PoW because to participate in the 'shared-trust' of the network, you have to buy in from an existing stakeholder unlike in PoW where you only need to acquire mining hardware. It would be incredibly difficult to secure enough XEM to successfully the attack the network. In PoW, it would be very hard to detect a bad actor who is accumulating or researching advances in mining hardware to attack the network.

I already see articles that some areas are banning crypto mining due to power shortage. This would be a big issue if we want mass adoption.

I approuve and that why Nem delagated harvesting allow more people to enjoy harvesting with less H.ware and matherial! i like the concept im more scared that the coin stay stock in 5th or 4th place because of the high fees Sad

Very constructive discussions. I also believe the environmental-friendly PoS of PoI is better, and dynamic changes of # of supernodes as price fluctuates make sense to me.
It's also true that transaction fee (10 NEM?) will be too high if NEM reaches .5 or >1 someday.

Transaction fee is 1 xem for every 10000 xem and is going down 20 fold to 0,05 xem this month

"xem transfer costs 0.05 xem per 10000 xem transferred, capped at 1.25 xem, so for example transferring 45000 xem costs 0.2 xem"

What happened to the proposal that was asking for 10 million or so NEM to develop a framework for NEM?

I missed the voting part and haven't read about it in a while. Did they get funded?

Nope. It seems to have fallen foul of some of the rules namely the need to provide milestones that have to be met. I don't really understand why the foundation itself was applying for funding when it has funding pouring out of its arse already.

You are tlaking about 2 differennt iniciatives: nem framework and market assault.
Both of this voting were called off/posponed.

Are there any plans to make delegated harvesting more reliable? Lately nodes keep going offline and it is annoying to have to manually reconnect every time.

A system like waves has would be ideal imo. You lease your balance there and if their node goes offline your balance is still leased to the node.

You can ask a supernode owner to add the delegated private key to the config. That way, if the NIS is restarted, the account will harvest again.

Any way to get in touch with the supernode owners? It's really a hassle as the blockexplorers don't show if your account is harvesting as far as I know and I don't feel like entering the client everyday if it is only for checking if I'm still connected.

If someone offered you 99% harvesting uptime,
how much a month would you pay for this service?

Just curious.

Kraken can add EOS...with 4 trading pairs...but they can't (or won't) add NEM??  WTF?  Huh

You have to pay them. I've suggested doing so. Dash paid $50,000 in development and listing fees to get on there. As the foundation is sitting on god knows how many millions' worth I don't get why they wouldn't spend a piddling amount like this.

It's odious but it would make a vast difference.

That's crazy charging $50,000 just to list on their exchange.  Fair enough, it will increase volume for NEM, but that is a bit arrogant to ask to pay to be listed, as they will be making money from trading fees anyway.  I haven't seen anything official on their site that states you have to pay $50K, or what the requirements criteria is in order to be listed.
Actually, it is smart, developers of shitcoins have lots of money now and fastest way to increase value of shitcoin is to add it to exchange. So it is win-win for developers and exchanges.

looks like the markets are starting to rebound today, so that's good.
I'm still troubled by the lack of volume. I just don't see how we can have this kind of marketcap with barely 6 million in usd worth of transactions.
I know the typical reason given here is "miners don't have to sell to pay for costs" but there has to be more to it than just that.
There are plenty of coins where it's hard to mine a block much less enough to profit on, and they have tens to hundreds of million in volume per day.

So what do you guys think the reason is? I'm sure no mining is a part of it, but not the entire reason.
Are people really holding that much that there isn't a whole lot out there to buy and sell?
is there just not much interest?

what is everyone's thoughts?

Because since around 6 months ago, lots of "not so smart money" began entering crypto market.
Most of the daytraders now dont understand technology, the just see numbers on markets.
Since nem has "no maeketing" ( which means no hype on crypto forums ) there is no volume.

I actually think, lots of money from online gambling sites is flowing strait to shitcoins through poloniex.

Well why would they suddenly come out of the shadow and ALL support this funding instead of being against it. It also looks like they know many benefits of this projects while we have a ton of questions.
Even if they happen to have a low importance, only their presence here is disturbing. It looks like a psychological operation to try to convince the ones with a higher importance to vote Yes.

Are you saying that Atraura is secretly financing fake accounts to promote their project? Cheesy
People who contribute less care less about ideology and more about profit.
I feel like NEMergizer started negativity with misunderstanding that the project would be funded from dev fund instead of community fund, then random newbies emerged, then old members started a crusade against the young ones.

So let's focus on the issues:
 - Atraura is not internal - same as anyone from community coding for bounty
 - Atraura seems to have approached NEM first - is this really an issue?
 - It seems ridiculously expensive - let's try to find a price both parties are willing to accept.
Here https://forum.nem.io/t/nem-framework-community-proposal/5174/26 I proposed that part of the bounty would be paid in fixed NEM and part according to future exchange rate. So Atraura is motivated to finish succesfully which will increase the price, but it's not that volatile. Advantage for us is that when the price of NEM is 1$ in a year, we won't suffer $15M loss from this development.

One thing is sure, if NEM is $1 in a year noone here will suffer a loss Cheesy

The voting system is bullshit anyway. 100 people could vote no and a whale or a dev could vote yes and yes would win due to the whales importance

Yes! And that's why Trump would never win an election like this Cheesy
Because 100 people who don't know what's going on will be out-voted by 1 whale/developer who actually knows what is going on.

Why are there so many "newbies" on here trying to convince us to fund this project with 15 Million Xem?

Long time lurker. Finally, something that is actually asking for community input, thought I would give some.

Just as I thought...

There are around 10 times more original NEM stakeholders then active users in this forum.
Any noob here can actually be a milonare.
