Mr Teal,

When should we expect more Hab's to be available?

I picked up a VMC gold rush and it died (stopped communicating but lights up...) in 6 days with nothing from Ken. That was my last VMC purchase.

Thanks!

I've now got one card running happily at 850mhz, and one at 887mhz - ie. about 670gh/s and 690gh/s

Does that translate to ~800+ watts? Great job BTW...!

I can understand that, but when they say you'll get shipment and tracking on the 27th that's kinda what I expect. Anyway I'll keep chasing...

Well I've tried email to the website, PM's on here and phone calls - nothing sadly. Eager to take BTC but not to provide any further communications. I'll be requesting refund at COB today if I don't at least get an acknowledgement of communications. Pretty shocking really.

What makes you think any new request, especially for a refund, is going to get any response?

My card is now dead, it never hashed to the minimum spec and no one from VMC or Ken has responded and probably never will, if recent history is any guide. VMC could have been something good if only someone, anyone would put on the customer service hat for a day and answer some requests...

Edit- I received a blurb from Ken on the VMC site that the warranty is 10 days for DOA. I am not sure if this is Ken's way of saying "tough shit" on a card that died within this 10 day period and never performed as advertised or if this is a general statement, so I responded with how to process the replacement of the card that died within this 10 day period. We shall see...

Interesting. I think this is the first recorded case of DOA, then. Many had issues with setup but I don't think anyone has had a board simply die yet. Keep us updated.

Unrelated:

Ill definitely give it a shot when I get home. One board at 440 and the other at 350.
Do you think using the stock fans on the H100i may be part of the reason why my hash rate is a little low? Hopefully your tool will help me with my other problem of tightening the pump onto the chips.
The problem is cgminer, the old versions don't have the --hfa-hash-clock command and forces the cards to run at 550MHz (~400GH/s)

There's a couple tools that will be coming out. One is a generic HF tool that allows the voltage to be set, while the other provides stats for the Habaneno. Let me ping Gateway on our program, I know he was making some changes to it but I think they were primarily cosmetic.

This might be relevant for some of you guys. I recommend keeping an eye on the Habanero thread for other information on the Hashfast clones. Of course, some of the info might be specific to the Hab. board.

My board was not DOA, it just died in the 10 day timeframe. Just for clarity. Smiley

Can we dream that he's too busy because he's setting up new equipment?
Well you could dream that he was setting up new equipment.  And you never know, he may just be doing that...  However, if he is, what is the chance it would actually get put into the LRM pool for dividend payments?
Considering we are now at 100MH/s with an undefined optional "bonus" payment for being good little suckers and promising not to sue...

There is only one contract, the first one. Let LR/Zach live in his fantasy world where he can change the rules of the game as he sees fit. Just wait, the first legal challenge will send the rat running with his tail between his legs...

Well I am sad to report that my GR card is no longer recognized by any system after I plugged in an additional fan to the board (fan 2 header). I am now at a loss. The board powers up with the normal lights and the normal indicators when USB is plugged in. after that, nothing is recognized.

What I did to "cause" this...
1. All systems running stable ~600GH/s @ ~90C @ 800MHz
2. Power Card down
3. Plug additional fan into fan2 header pins
4. Power up card (new fan was spinning)
5. nothing, card usb not seen by multiple systems.

Anyone have any troubleshooting ideas here?

I contacted Ken and company but have had no response.

My card was running off and on (off for liquid block placement) for roughly <2 weeks total.

Thanks!

Had the same thing the other day, I pushed the reset button on the card, it rebooted and showed up on my pc.

2nd thing I did... Smiley Still no joy.

How are the miners performing?

at least 13% under the promised 750gh/s spec.  over 30% under spec in my case.

Has anyone contacted VMC to see what they'll do for miners that fall outside of the +/-20% variance?

It seems that ~650Gh/s is a more realistic expectation from these.

Yes. Nothing but us crickets here...

I think it's pretty well accepted at this point that they'll ignore you and your inquiries.

Other then for payment, yea, so far, nothing...

BTW has anyone measured power efficiency at the wall?

@ 800MHz ~580-600GH/s @750 watts at the wall If I remember correctly.

2 cards on btcguild:
1,074.86 GH/s   5115392 (99.42%)   27136 / 0 / 2560

1,2G and I would be fine, but this is.. this is.. too low...

Wow, not even 600 GH/s per card.  I've been following this thread to see if anyone has had the magic touch to push them to 700 or up.

Still waiting on the sidelines.  Decent price too.

No one has answered where/what/how the "masking tape" test results came from but I know of no one getting more than 650GH/s out of any of the GR cards in the wild. I personally never was above 600GH/s at any time.

Perhaps try removing the second fan and seeing if it comes back to life.  I half recall there being issues with power when running multiple fans.

First thing I did... Smiley No joy.

My cgminer totals were in the 800+GH/s range while mining at eligius but the actual hash rate from the pool showed what I had normally on other pools-550-600 GH/s.

Do you have any image?

nope, but it's not that hard,

I did something like this:

1) download Debian Wheezy rasbperryPi image from here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/
2) write it to SD card: http://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/installation/installing-images/README.md
3) connect microusb for power and monitor and keyboard to rasbPi and boot up, there will be little setup, i think you should do the 1st step atleast (just choose to enlarge partition, and all will be automatic)
4) connect fash-hast card to raspbery, after that when typing 'lsusb' you should see a new device that was not there before you connected fash-hast card.
5) install some more packages:
sudo apt-get install build-essential autoconf automake libtool pkg-config libcurl3-dev libudev-dev
6) clone cgminer from git
git clone git://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer.git
7) compile
cd cgminer
./autogen
./configure --enable-hashfast
make
 Wink run cgminer as usual

EDIT: And don't forget to tip ckolivas Smiley

Thanks, that was very nice.

VERY NICE!  But I'm stuck on #7.  After cd cgminer.  I get errors on "./autogen"  What am I missing?

I may be incorrect here but if you did not get cgminer from GIT then autogen is not needed. Just configure and make.

Well this has been a testing week...

I got the wiring kit... this was a mistake.

Neither gold rush board showed up as a USB device when connected via the USB header. It took me until today to figure out (after ordering some micro-usb cables on a whim) that in fact the boards only seem to respond on the Micro USB port.

One board is clocked and running nicely at 887mhz, not sure on exact hashrate yet, but I believe it should be around the 670gh/s mark. Clocking above 887mhz causes problems, although I'm relatively confident on the thermal setup I've got running.
The second board I ran out of thermal paste so I've got it clocked at 300mhz until I get some more.

You mind posting details/pics of how you attached the water block? I "reengineered" mine last night and made it worse... Sad

Thanks!

I did not get any but have not heard officially that I was suppose to.  Plus the temperature reading is only 25C, which I believe is just room temperature.
I don't think the card could heat up that much in 2-3 seconds anyway.  Just does not make sense.
Actually it can... the cooler is not on correctly...

So in reality, this card is really 550 GH/s to 600 GH/s for $849 when you can get 3 Ants for $600?

...With ~X2+ the power consumption for the S1s, but so far, yea that is what I see...

I really wish I could get any feedback from Ken (and/or company) on what is going on with the performance of the board. So far I am under spec...

My results mirror what your getting, I just can't keep it cool enough to run 800mhz with the corsair H80i.
Think we are going to order some parts and build our own cooling system.

I think I will try to use the long screws that came with the cooler kit to get better contact. Thanks for the tip Bar... Smiley

edit: ...and redo with better thermal paste...

Par for the course in "Bitcoin miner vendor land" I am afraid...  Undecided

I will take it apart and "reengineer" the cooler to see if that gets me anywhere. I might just need to give a 1/4 turn more on the nuts... We shall see...

cgminer varies according to the pool (and interestingly, per share diff) I get 800+GH/s from cgminer but ~580GH/s at Eligius and ~580 GH/s from cgminer and ~580GH/s from slush...

Thanks!

You never gave me the CGMiner command line, the .bat file. It should be something like this

cgminer.exe -o POOL1 -u USERNAME1 -p PASSWORD1 -o POOL2 -u USERNAME2 -p PASSWORD2 --hfa-noshed --hfa-hash-clock 750
pause

Could use some troubleshooting.  With the ATX connection from the board (5 straight-line pins) going to the PSU (10 pin) plugged in the board goes on and off right away.  If I leave it unplugged it runs. Huh
Also - can't get cgminer to see it, or my computer for that matter.  Any drivers necessary?  Using Win7 Home Premium.
Not sure if the two issues are related.

Yes CGMiner/Windows 7 requires the zadig WinUSB Driver Zadig 2.1.0 exe
Install WinUSB on the Gold Rush units.

The command line is good and clock is set currently to 800. I do not use the noshed option. In my testing the hash rate went to ~200GH/s when using noshed.

A. Plug nothing from the PSU to the GR board other than

1. the 4 Pci-e connectors
2. whatever the cooler pump needs to run (the H110i was a sata connector)
3. You can power additional fans from the board or PSU.

B. Have you installed the drivers using zadig first? Cancel any OS detected HW driver install (takes a moment to actually cancel the process) when you plug the GR in.
