The link to the pools list in the first message is http://mooncoin.wordpress.com/official-pool-list/

But when I click on that link the resulting page says:

"If you are seeing this page, you are seeing it because you’ve bookmarked the wrong Mooncoin project URL or have followed an invalid link.  The correct URL is: http://mooncoin.info/  We have relocated our page to our project homepage to this domain."

So the link on the first page needs to be changed to go straight to http://mooncoin.info/?page_id=61

Is http://aur.pool-a.net/ gone for good now?  I haven't been able to access the web page for a couple of days.

How realistic is the 2-3 weeks for reaching the point where the KGW kicks in?

It seems to me that this is running very close to the date for the proposed airdrop which, in reality, doesn't allow many more coins to be mined before that happens.

I'm very much a beginner here but presumably there are implications to this in terms of the likely price in the run-up to the airdrop and immediately after.

Imagine this wallet update all in one:

If those things could all be achieved in one update, that would be ideal.

I still think the idea of multiple "celebrity" skins would be ideal.  Make this the multi-celebrity coin.

I might be missing something obvious, but https://moon.pool.pm/ is showing the current block as 26851 with a difficulty of 346.  But the current block seems to be 29808.

Does that mean this pool hasn't updated to take account of the fork or are we still waiting for stuff to catch up?

Nice, well written piece.  Good introduction to cryptocurrencies in general and Coinye in particular.

Perhaps you have a problem with your browser or network, try a different browser, I have everything working perfectly. If you want - I'll post a link to you from my Dropbox

Hmm.  Looks like an issue with a cached version of the download page.  Worked OK on another machine and browser.

If I try to download the Windows SEA from http[Suspicious link removed] I get a 404 error.

Edit: same result trying to download the 7zip version.

Write in your browser "http://download.mooncoin.info/" and then select a desired download.

That's what I did.  I still get a 404 when I try to download either version.

we realize that we must make a sacrifice and sell at 1 sat in order for the coin to become widely distributed among investors whose primary goal is to make money of this coin.

How do you know that this will distribute the coin more widely?  The buy orders at 1 sat could be primarily from those who already hold large volumes of the coin and simply want to pick up more for next to nothing.  In fact they could be the same people who also have sell orders at 2 sat.  So in fact you could simply be concentrating ownership in the hands of fewer people and keeping the price down.

These are genuine observations from a novice, by the way.  I'm interested in the rationale for this policy.

Great job everyone who pitched in last night to cut down the cryptorush 1 sat buy order.

OK, I'm still fairly new to the whole cryptocurrency dealing thing so please could someone explain to me how this helps?

People offer to buy shedloads of Coinye at 1 sat and you guys rally to supply to them at that price.  That keeps the price down.

The buyers can then afford to sell again at 2 sat and still make 100% profit so the price is still low.

Wouldn't it be better to leave the 1 sat buy orders unfilled and post sell orders at a much higher price?

Or am I misunderstanding the way it works?

  • It is a clean upgrade and your blockchain will get converted when you run the new client.

I presume that by client you mean updated Qt wallet software.  When do you plan to have this available?  For those of us who have the current wallet, will it be a straight overwrite of the existing files?

Hey Guys. How about we all pitch in to support Coinye by going to cryptorush and getting rid of the 1 sat buy order.

I may be missing something obvious here but surely the problem is not the 1 sat buy order but all the 2-5 sat sell orders.  Anyone can offer to buy at a low price but the order will only be filled if there are people willing to sell at that price.

Hopefully an Android wallet app can be developed before hand as that will also help.

Absolutely.  An Android (and ideally Apple) wallet app is key to the more widespread use of cryptocurrencies in general, and this one especially.

Yeah.  It's a good job we all voted to appoint you as the Auroracoin police.

I see the faucet at http://mooncoinfaucet.com/ is empty again.  Do we know who runs that?

Unfortunately I only have a handful of Mooncoins myself so I can't offer to donate.

working alright here.

Well according to the statistics via the web front end, there are currently zero pool workers.  So if you're mining successfully at present, something is still wrong.

Yes, I'm seeing that, too.  Web front end seems to be up, but miners can't connect.
