Re: Why are you taking profit on bitcoin?
by
retreat
on 26/07/2025, 08:29:05 UTC
I will not blame when someone sells the Bitcoins they have, because everyone has their own reasons when they sell the Bitcoins they have, maybe it's for personal needs, buying things they dream of, or for whatever reason. Moreover, it is Bitcoin that they have, so it is their own right to what they want to do with the Bitcoin, whether they want to hold it or sell it. But indeed it is quite unfortunate when someone sells the Bitcoins they have for trivial reasons, because if they can they should use other money that they are ready to use, but if they still want to sell the Bitcoins they have, let it be so, it's not our business, and we can't judge them either.

Re: Is it wrong to take a temporary break from gambling?
by

-snip-

This may seem like a simple question, but strangely enough it always bothers my mind every time or rather every day. So I hope to receive opinions or even suggestions from you, especially from people who have experienced the same thing before.

Sometimes after a win streak makes a person overconfident and believe that luck is always on their side, so they continue to gamble and are confident that the next they will still win. But this assumption is quite wrong because there is no guarantee that the next time they can win, it could be the next they lose streak and it causes them to lose more money than they should. So with this thing taking a break it could be a wise choice. Because by taking a break after a winning streak, a person gives himself time to think clearly again and avoid the trap of overconfidence, and it can avoid them from major losses and serious psychological consequences.

Re: US Americans can now donate towards reducing national debt via Venmo
by

https://newrepublic.com/post/198329/venmo-pay-national-debt

The Trump administration offers new way for Americans to donate their funds towards reducing the national debt.
Such program existed from before and a few millions have been donated in the last 25 years. But the debt is up to the trillions.

This is a new sign of desperation, using a bill splitting/quick money tip app for the government to accept donations...
If only any administration would be so decisive against inflation too it would be amazing. Instead we only see such things when the government wants help and not when the people need help most.

They're actually asking the public to donate to help pay off the national debt, which has ballooned due to their incompetence? What a joke. The public shouldn't be involved in paying off the national debt, as they already pay taxes, contribute economically, and so on. The government's role is to use all collected tax money wisely and manage it as best as possible, allocating it to targeted expenditures, and eliminating unnecessary spending. That's what they should be doing, not asking the public to donate to help pay off the national debt. This kind of behavior further demonstrates the current government's incompetence and lack of credibility in handling the country's problems.

Shame for Lewis with his stupid mistake.

It's a shame Lewis made such a mistake. Whether it was because he couldn't adapt to the upgrades or because of some other issue, he looked incredibly frustrated as he was disqualified in SQ1, finishing in P18, a position you wouldn't expect from a seven-time world champion.
Hopefully, he can get at least a top 10 finish in tomorrow's sprint race.

Re: Is Buying Shares of a BTC ETF a good way to invest in Bitcoin?
by

The best investment in Bitcoin is to buy Bitcoin and hold it in your non custodial wallet, because you will have full control of your Bitcoin and you will not have to worry that when the exchange has a problem the Bitcoin you have will be lost. Because whatever credible institution you say it is, they are still a company, and at any time they can get into trouble, and when that happens the Bitcoin you hold could potentially be lost. But this is your choice, if you feel that you believe that they are a trusted institution, just do it buy their ETF shares, only at your own risk.

McLaren remained strong in FP1, with Lando and Piastri securing P1 and P3, respectively.

And Max also performed exceptionally well on this circuit, securing P2. I'm pretty confident that Max has a good chance of winning this race.

And for Ferrari, Hamilton and Charles finished P5 and P7, respectively. It seems their upgrades weren't effective enough in this race.

Sprint qualifying is still underway, with SQ2 just completed. Let's see who will secure pole position in tomorrow's sprint.

Is been responsible with gambling all it takes to be a professional gambler or someone needs to win in the process many times already to be considered a professional gambler?

-snip-

Personally, I see a professional as someone who can consistently profit from their gambling activities. They are able to transform gambling, which many people consider challenging and uncertain, into a profitable venture, using their strategies. However, not all gamblers can be categorized as professionals, as those who focus on slots or games based on luck can't consistently make money. However, sports bettors or poker players can be considered in this category. And their approach is more structured, especially when it comes to money and risk management.

I've been hearing things that Fred Vasseur is gonna be given a contract extension because of the 'stability' that he brings to the team...  That prolly more like it means that Ferrari can't get Horner so they have no choice but to stay with Vasseur.  Cheesy Cheesy

So I guess the odds on Horner going to Alpine and buying 20% of the team is going up?  Chances are he's not taking a sabbatical.

Even though Ferrari's performance hasn't improved significantly with him, we can't help but acknowledge his ability to manage both drivers is a skill. It's even been said that both Charles and Hamilton are behind Vasseur, which explains his strategic position within the team, and explains why Ferrari was more interested in extending his contract with him than hiring Horner, who is currently available. And I think their decision was quite right, as Vasseur has extensive experience managing F1 drivers, even if he's less aggressive as a team principal.

As for Horner himself, while he's likely to join Alpine, there are recent rumors suggesting Cadillac is interested in signing him, so it's still unclear which team he'll join.

There are many countries placing ban on gambling operations in their country on both online and offline, for either religious reasons or as measure towards curbing gambling addiction. But is it making result? while several other countries are rather lifting their bans with less restrictive regulatory policies.

-snip-

That's what I mean. My government also prohibits gambling, but people still access it and gamble. In fact, it's estimated that the gambling industry in my country alone is around $21.8 billion USD, which is a lot of money for an illegal industry. If only the government could legalize it, at least they could collect taxes from the operations of these gambling platforms. However, the problem is that the government is considering the edicts of one of the majority religions here, which states that gambling is haram. Another consideration is the potential for addiction. This prevents the government from legalizing gambling here.

- Has your life changed with the "growth" of your country?

My country just makes my life more miserable than it should be LOL.

- Do you feel more secure, or less?

Well, something in between, that could be said to be secure and not secure at the same time.

Quote
- If you could choose, would you want more money, more time, or more trust in people?

I would choose more money. Maybe others would say they would prefer more time, but I'm just being realistic, these days everything costs money. It's true that having a lot of money means you have to sacrifice time with your children, but I'd rather be hated by my children for not having enough time with them, than not being able to provide them with a decent education and life. It's that simple.

Yes, football is like that, but if there's no guarantee, if I a football players, I'd rather stay in my previous country with a better league. Of course, this isn't what players who are dropped from the national team want. But if they was youn enough, maybe they need to get the opportunity to play for the U-23 team, even if it wasn't for the senior national team, it will be better, but the case is not like that, those who have been removed from the senior team don't have another chance. I think this is disrespectful to the players. However, coaches and officials won't think that far ahead, because the target must be achievable, no matter what will happens to players.

I don't think it's a matter of disrespect for the players, but rather a matter of eligibility. It's impossible for them to remain in the starting lineup if their performance is mediocre. Regardless, their performance is also taken into consideration. If it were mediocre, it would have been better for them not to have received an offer to play for the Indonesian national team in the first place. Also, being removed from the national team doesn't mean their football career is over. They can play in Liga 1 or try their luck in a foreign league. If they're worthy, they should be able to get an offer.

by

And also, do you think we can see $150K soon?

Bitcoin's ATH was $123k yesterday, just a few steps away from reaching $150k. So, if this bullish trend continues, the psychological level of $150k could be reached. Furthermore, current market sentiment is quite positive, with increasing institutional adoption and ETFs continuing to increase their Bitcoin holdings.. this makes reaching $150k very possible this year. Hopefully, there won't be any major negative news that could impact Bitcoin's price movement at this time, so we could see Bitcoin reaching that point in the near future.

Re: Would you allow your underage kid to use your detail for KYC after a big win.

on 22/07/2025, 04:49:55 UTC
This is a tricky situation, because if we let him use our identity to bypass KYC, it would be like we're supporting his gambling and acting like a hypocrite. On the other hand, it's money we should be claiming, especially when it's a significant amount. If I were in a situation like this, I'd let him use my identity, but I wouldn't let him use the winnings. I mean, he's still a minor and he's gambling with my money. He'll have to accept the consequences of me withholding the money, and I'll probably scold him for not being able to gamble at that age.

Children like this need to be dealt with firmly. If he gambles with his own money and he's old enough, that's not a big deal to me. But if he's still in school and already dares to gamble with money he should be using for more beneficial things, that's also unacceptable. So, rather than making things worse, it's better to take firm action against him early on.

Spa week.
And it will be probably 60% according google, to be rainy week.

Pirelli did also an aggressive move for this week.
They will bring compounds with a big gap in grip so a big strategy weekend is expected.

If rain occurs, there could be another drama like at yesterday's Silverstone race. Pirelli immediately skipped the C2 tire, forcing teams to think hard about their strategy: whether to play C1 + C3, C4 + C3 + C3, or C4 + C4 + C3. This should make for a more exciting race, as teams are forced to carefully consider their pit stop strategies.

one way is writing off your bitcoins as not yours. that money is not yours to spend. just forget about it. the more you look at it, the more you will just want to sell it especially when you see the value of bitcoin.

do you also do this and does it really work for you?

Some people use this method to pretend they don't own any Bitcoin. They pretend they don't hold any, and even uninstalling their wallet and forgetting about it. This method might work, but I think the best way is to learn to restrain yourself from selling and always remember that you won't lose money if you don't sell because the market will always recover and hit a new ATH. And make a clear investment goal, for example 5-10 years or longer. If someone understands this, they won't panic and try to sell whenever they feel the urge.

Re: Trading business vs. gambling business in crypto
by
retreat
on 21/07/2025, 10:55:42 UTC
I don't know which business generates more money, but from what I know, gambling is a lucrative business, where casinos gain an advantage over players through their house edge. Gambling is also an industry with a huge turnover—even if the profit margin per transaction is small, the volume of transactions is very high, allowing casinos to generate significant profits per day. Not to mention the potential income from the large number of players who continue playing due to addiction or the hope of winning big. Furthermore, most casinos are now increasingly accessible to players, allowing them to tap into a wider pool of potential gamblers. So, from this alone, we can see that casinos can generate more money, and more consistently, if they manage it well.

Re: How do you see slots game?

on 21/07/2025, 09:46:52 UTC
Isn't that just how slots work? In the short term, you might hit the jackpot, but in the long run, the casino will profit more than the player. That's why slot gambling needs to be regulated, because while it's fun, it can also be addictive and lead to significant losses if players lose control.

So, if it were me, I'd use the winnings to invest in Bitcoin or at least buy something, like a new smartphone or some clothes, so the winnings would be more useful than using them to gamble again.

Memes aside, Hamilton didn't go to Ferrari because he believes he will win. He saw what Mercedes was doing and he realized that he can't get a win there, no titles, so he might as well go race for a few years as the most known brand all around, Ferrari is THE racing team, in all over the world at all kinds of races.

And now, he is just having fun, doesn't even care that much, care enough that he wants to give his all, but he is not expecting a title. He knows his title times are gone, so he just focuses on being happier and just be a Ferrari guy. So there is no way he would go back to Mercedes, there isn't anything that makes sense for him to go there. With that being the case, I am sure that we are going to see him stay there, and Max will be at Mercedes instead.

But Ferrari is certainly the best place for a goat like Hamilton to end his career. It's like closing a page in a book with gold ink, since Ferrari is a prestigious team in F1. Even if he doesn't win the title, even if his performance fluctuates, people won't blame him too much, because they already know the Hamilton era is over, and Hamilton doesn't need to prove anything. For now, people only see him competing with young talents - as for whether he can win the title, let time tell.
