strange, now i get:

"Access denied, you cannot manage this mining rig!"

I already rented a lot of mining-rigs, never problems like that.

i even had it for test used on pool "ghash", and even that does not work...

not good.

edit: now the renting was finished (after 15 minutes, while i payed before for 3 hours) automatically. strange.

Yes the rig went down and even i was not able to fix it i rebooted server 2 times and the miners are unrecognized. You are automatically refunded by system after 15 min if the rigs goes down to protect you and your money. i have yet to be able to fix the problem. at the very least change "Info & Communication:" rating to a 5 since i got back to you. But there is no way easy way for me to contact you before u do me via these methods. Yes i know the system shows email addresses but i contacted 10+ customers and not one has ever responded. And in the future if a problem happens feel free to PM  the rig owner via Bitcointalk.org before placing ratings.

Will there be info on buy back or upgrade programs to the new ASICs?

Good question

Hi, we do not have plans to offer upgrade programs between different hardware manufactures. If we do offer upgrades it will be within the same product lines (ie. Gridseed to Gridseed)

Thank you for the questions, GAW
Can you take this opportunity to explain:
"Price Protection
Equipment buy back"

For instance, are you offering to buy equipment back at a certain price, then resell it labeled as "used"?

I assume the "price protection" is just if something drops in price overnight, and the people that bought the day before get some sort of discount?  How does the "price protection" work?
Thanks.
+1 I'd also like to know how these services work. Thanks

When gridseed came out with the blades, GAW bought back the 10 packs from our customers and allowed customers to pay the difference to upgrade to the blades.

Price protection would prevent the price from dropping drastically within a small period of time. Unfortunately, we need the manufacturer participation for this to work. While Gridseed has given us a verb agreement they will not do this again, we have nothing in writing from them.

This is one of the reasons we made our own hardware, so we have more control over the cost.

I hope this answers some of your questions

Well I wonder if you know how the people that bought blades and waited more than a week to get them online feel; I'd say slightly fuct when the same day we see them go live you announce much cheaper versions.

ya but those people who order then might have to wait a week before they get them also. not always the case but you never know.

Problem with your rig I just rented. Hashboxlease isn't working. Says it is online but no shares are being submitted. Both of my pools are configured correctly.  Can you please investigate and credit. Thanks.

Edit:  This rig is really not working well. I know they are gridseed, but hashrate hasn't met it's max not even close. Keeps going offline, and wont submit to my pools.  So far really not happy with this rental.

2nd Edit:  She appears to be stabilizing now and working better. Hashrate just went up to over the rated. Looking good now.

Can you tell me how long it was down for you? i was with out internet access so i was not able to monitor. i will send some extra hash your way. send me your pools also please. thanks. and you txid

I hope someone can point me in the right direction here. i been looking for hours and cant get individual unit freq tuned. And i cant find a good post on it.

i running 31 units on a ubuntu box. i modded 5 units some with resistors and some with just the bridges. i ran each unit individual on my raspi and found the freq they will run at without Hw's. i was using scripta or the pi to do this with.

i did a git pull from "git://github.com/dtbartle/cgminer-gc3355.git"

when i enter
"
sudo ./cgminer --scrypt -o site -u username -p x --gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=850,chips=5 --gridseed-freq 8D8B16785748=1150,8D9123A95748=950,8D6A187B5355=950,8D6A187B5355=900,8D70218C5355=950,6D95246D5650=950 --hotplug 0
"

it says "./cgminer: --gridseed-freq: unrecognized option"

Does this version not support freq tuning? i believe i read else where it does per miner but im thinking that was a different version and not this one.

This is the version that supports the per-unit frequency mods:

https://github.com/girnyau/cgminer-gc3355.git

Note that it also outputs different values for the API, so Scripta as-is cannot display the hash rate. I ended up moding Scripta to handle the girnyau output.

But now I'm using this version of cgminer that outputs the serial number and frequency for each unit (which is insanely useful):

https://github.com/mox235/cgminer-gc3355.git

The above mox235 version is based on the girnyau fork. I code reviewed the changes and it's identical except for the API JSON output changes.

Here's the matching mox235 version of Scripta to handle the display of the new API output (and fixes a bunch of Scripta bugs):

https://github.com/mox235/scripta

I additionally merged in my mods to the mox235 Scripta variant and can provide them if they're useful. I find it nicer to view the Gridseed unit output in KH/s and the total in MH/s.

thanks that help we out alot i go give it a try right now. 1 last question do you have to state every device speed?

I would like to see pics with it all wired up. Smiley

LOL, I knew someone would call me out on that!

Still waiting on the barrel plugs to come in on the slow boat from China (just tried tracking its latest location and the map literally shows it on a boat).
Ended up getting copper 16 AWG wire. Also need to buy some wire strippers or borrow a co-workers.

Have 18 AWG DC pigtails I might use if I get impatient. Also have 6 way splitters for scrypt but need to cut one open to see what wire gauge it has.

that might take a while. i paid around $6 and bought from amazon and had 2 days. yes i paid a lot more but i didn't miss out a lot of time mining.

All done!
Currently the top section/shelf is in the universal position as I wanted to try different mounting options. Going to move them closer together for the "on the side" position even though it could just be left as is. If I get more miners I will add a second or even third section/shelf.

Zoomhash_Michael:

I received my order today on time. You were right about the post office not scanning the package. I only saw a status change last night, when the package was scanned at the local sort center.

Within minutes of receiving the package I had both units hashing, with the gridseed fork of bfgminer.

Thank you

Art

Unfortunately USPS does that.

I ordered a single Gridseed on Friday 4/11. It was from the batch scheduled to ship on 4/14-4/17 so when it shipped on Saturday I was really pleased. I followed the tracking and USPS showed it as delivered today. I didn't receive anything so I'm hoping USPS just scanned it delivered early on accident or something.

Have you ever seen that happen?

*edit*
Just realized this isn't a general Zoomhash thread. Anyway I went ahead and filed a claim with USPS... hopefully it will turn up. I live in an apartment so the post office would have to totally fuck up and either put it in the wrong box or leave it on the damn breezeway.

I had the happen. Then for me they delivered it the next day even though they said they delivered it that day on there site.

Good luck with finding the package.

Hey guys I didn't know where else to ask this question so I'll ask here and sorry if it's already been answered.
I have 3 gridseed modules 2 of them are stable at 900mhz and the third on is stable at 850mhz is it possible to run different modules at different frequencies? If so how can I manually set each frequency in cgminer? I'm not using a controller I just have them plugged into my computer windows 7 thanks in advance!

Yes if some one could point to the fork that this has been working on best that be awesome. im running them on linux./

I purchased 4 of the IBM power supplies. Plan to use the Offset Terminal Lugs miaviator discovered and these barrel plugs with 18 AWG wiring:

Any tips on where to buy the wiring? Home Depot did not have any 18 AWG and Radio Shack I'm sure is over priced.

i used 18-2 door bell with 50 feet was $7 and that for both strands. i hook up 20 units and still had a bunch left. been running on it over a week with no problems

Not it is sloid core wire not stranded so the wires are stiff and a little hard to manage.

A link on how to use

""Useful options
Code:
sudo apt-get install openssh-server   #if not installed during setup
sudo apt-get install screen             #to run cgminer in the background
""

The option of ssh to check on miners? a link at least i had no luck.

It tried to do it via remote desktop with a vnc viewer and it would load the desktop but when i click on any thing it woudl not show the windows that were open on the remote machine. and i tried x11vnc instead and that would only show a gray window.

Ya i also tried to get ubunto 13.1 running but i get compiling errors and then the system don't fully work. i be trying it again today. i  would even pay .1 btc for a good guide for a fresh install. the one i found in the other main gridseed discussion thread worked ok until i had compiling errors and did not know what to do.

Install Ubuntu Server 12.04.4 LTS: ubuntu-12.04.4-server-amd64.iso

Update Ubuntu and install git
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install git

Install dependencies, compile then run dtbartle cgminer
Code:
cd ~
sudo apt-get install build-essential autoconf automake pkg-config libtool libcurl4-openssl-dev libncurses5-dev libudev-dev
sudo git clone git://github.com/dtbartle/cgminer-gc3355.git
cd cgminer-gc3355
sudo CFLAGS="-O2 -Wall" ./configure --enable-scrypt --enable-gridseed
sudo make

sudo ./cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://xpool.net:8820 -u x -p x --gridseed-options=baud=115200,freq=850,chips=5 --hotplug 0

That is all! Seems so simple but it took a lot of effort to get here.

Useful options
Code:
sudo apt-get install openssh-server #if not installed during setup
sudo apt-get install screen             #to run cgminer in the background

That made it nice and easy to get running thanks. on ubunto 13.1.0 it worked.
BTC sent.

im running my devices on 1 usb post using code

"sudo ./minerd --freq=850 --gc3355=/dev/ttyACM1  --url=stratum+myinfo --userpass=myinfo:x"

And on the pool side it shows the speed i get for all the devices. i thought we needed to run a different instance for each device?

Does any one have a link on how to use cgminer with all devices in scrypt only mode? i had it work with ltc mode only and then i stayed away from it
