Humm..compilation problem on linux with new sources.  Anyone else noticing this?

Yup!

We had a typo in the .gitignore like a couple of idiots and the LevelDB makefile did not commit.

If you re-git the source, the makefile and another issue was corrected and it should compile clean!

Sorry for the mistake... fat fingers. Sad

Awesome, thanks for the spot on release!  Built perfectly with absolutely no changes for Qt5 also...love it.

Needed some help, I've built the old Moon wallet (github source) with Qt5 & all the crazy libraries (boost, openssl, bdb, upnpc).  Took a week to line this up and finally get an executable out of QtCreator on Win7 (linux is much easier btw).  Anyway, so I start the wallet and there's a crash in the Qt5Gui.dll.  The wallet still starts successfully and actually has fully synched...but I don't know where that crash is coming from in Qt5Gui.dll.  Anyone have any advice?  I know this is changing with the new wallet...just prefer to build it myself.

Win7 x64 (all libraries and apps are 32bit)
Qt 5.2.1 (mooncoin code ported to Qt5...same code works fine for linux)
MinGW 4.8 (not built using visual studio)
OpenSSL 1.0.1f
Berkeley DB 1.55.0
Miniupnpc 1.9

There are a few reasons why it's not worth nearly as much right now...

  • We've yet to get more than 15-20 people to donate some of their moon to fund something.  Getting $10-15k donation to something with some active marketing will help push the coin forward price wise.
  • We've no "Foundation" promoting the currency externally...which is second sentence from above.
  • We're stuck at super high mining...which may not be horrible given how many coins immediately go into the sell walls from the miners

The dev is active, but i don't know how much help he's gotten in terms of promotion.

Doubt I'll have much success but I'm trying to build the current wallet on Win7 x64 VM with Qt5 installed.  The Linux wallet builds are much simpler, even with the code changes for Qt5.  Is the new wallet source available on github as a diff respository?

No worries, little do I talk about it, but there probably isn't a wallet hack but a lot of spyware now that is stealing everything.  I have a hunch whales are whaling with spears now also.

Obviously if someone trying to steal moon coins, you should already know it's value.

So what is the deal with the difficulty?

I think he made it awesome, when you mine moon it gets hard.  If you lighten off it gets easier.

Whats wrong with that?  Oh right, now if he fixes it so the massive farms can farm it all up fast, yes the price will drop.  I personally mined moon for first few days, I knew how hard and the value after this.

Instead of mining moon I bought it, and wow am I glad I did.

Moon has become the second most popular coin already, be it with hate trolls or moon lovers.  It's bad ass popular, it wont take much to kick start it.

The lift to get it up to 15 Satoshi is almost 100BTC.  That's quite an investment some whales would have to put up to get just a potential 2x return...if they could convince everyone else to also buy in (usually not an easy proposition).

Yeah use the official links or just build from the original sources at github.  Not sure why people don't take some safety into consideration...
  • Always download from official site/link
  • Always encrypt your wallet
  • Always use 2-factor authentication

someone make a chatroom at mirc or freenode.

I can't use MIrC

it's on the frontpage
