not really sure but my guess is either power issue

Hmm, the power supply was working fine before, but I do notice that the fans seem to run quite slow now.

or the overheating has caused serious damage to the chips

I hope not, cgminer monitors the chip's temperature and shuts them down if they overheat.  I spoke to the cgminer people and they said that it should be ok to leave it running because of this.

ModMiner quad - all lights flashing rapidly

I previously got my ModMiner working with cgminer, it would mine for an hour but then it would shut down due to overheating.

However, now, whenever I plug in the ModMiner - all 5 lights flash rapidly as soon as it powers up (the light on each board, and the light on the main board also).

I'm not sure what changed - what would cause this?

I'm the founder of http://freenetproject.org/.  Freenet was the first anonymous P2P network, and the first decentralized P2P network, started way back in 1999.  We were also among the first open source projects to accept Bitcoin donations, that was over 2 years ago (you can send donations to 1966U1pjj15tLxPXZ19U48c99EJDkdXeqb).  Freenet remains under active development.

Obviously given my background with Freenet I'm very interested in anonymous P2P systems (Freenet being the first), and the implications of Bitcoins are fascinating.

I recently acquired a ModMiner Quad, mainly to do some machine learning experiments, but in the meantime I'm experimenting with some mining, just for fun - not profit (would have been a lot more profitable to spend the $1.2k on Bitcoins back when I bought it Wink.

Hi, I'd like to get whitelisted please.  I've been using Bitcoins for several years, in fact my project http://freenetproject.org/ was one of the first to accept Bitcoin donations (now wishing we hadn't sold them, but we still have some!).

I haven't had occasion to visit these forums before but I'm now experimenting with Bitcoin mining and I'm running into issues that I could use some help with.

"Invalid nonce" errors with cgminer and ModMiner Quad - any ideas?
by

I got my ModMiner Quad working with cgminer yesterday (with cgminer running in an Ubuntu emulator on my Mac, had trouble getting it working directly on my Mac but this works for now).

Problem is that if I leave it running for just an hour or two - the following happens: https://gist.github.com/sanity/db5f4b7a4c2a85a133be

Note that all of the MMQs seem to have failed!  Any ideas what the problem is here?

Need per-minute historical MtGox trade data

Where can I find historical trade data for MtGox?  Ideally I'd like the output of https://mtgox.com/code/data/ticker.php recorded once per minute, recorded over (at least) several weeks.
