After a couple of weeks of no mining, I'm back.  Sold off a few parts and got an electrician to install some more outlets in my basement (been procrastinating 6+ years for this).  Pardon the poor lighting - that is next in my to-do list.   Grin

Just wondering what temp do you get with that 480 rad?
I am planning to water cool my 3 7950 rig with a 360 rad + Koolance 450 pump
I'm not sure the rad is big enough.

I have them hooked up to two 480 rads.  My temps are 36°C, 38°C, and 39°C respectively.  The lonely 7950 on the end is 41°C (not half bad considering).

Bad lighting? Looks like your camera ate that up with no issues. What kinda camera you got?

Those look like 4x 7970s? What block/cooler are you using on that 4th card?

It's a Nikon D90 with the stock 18-105mm lens.

And it's actually 3x 7970s and 1x 7950 in that rig.  The cooler is a Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro.  The other rig has a Corsair H110 cooling a 7950.

Running 2x 7970 XFX Black Edition..

If anybody willing to help me get 700ish kh/s PM me (Cant get over 500 for some reason  Undecided) Cheesy

1000core/1425mem

Try this with CGMiner:

Code:
--thread-concurrency 8192 -I 13 -w 256 -g 2

And keep your core/memory ratio at 0.5757575757....

So with a 1000MHz core, your memory should be ~1737MHz.

what is "activate 1x" hotplug bridge?

Some boards won't detect the VGA unless you short the slot as such:

What model of 7950 is that?
My reference 7970 cooler have no metal plate over vrms, so they got hot when i putted accelero xtreme 7970 on it, although i have instaled vrm heatsinks, temps are higher then with reference cooler ~ 100

http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R7950-Twin-Frozr-3GD5-OC.html

The reason why they're so hot is because your Accelero is blowing hot air passed by the fins onto them.  By removing that it won't be as hot - hence my solution.  Wink

What are you using to cool down those vrms? What tems you got with that setup on gpu/vrm?
Some of those watered vga's looks similar to corsair H60/h80 series, is it?

Just using some spare 92mm fans for the cards and a 120mm fan on the bench setup.  The 7870 doesn't have any heatsinks on the MOSFETs and the 7950 already had a metal plate installed over the power circuity.

The 7870 doesn't have any monitoring for the VRMs but with the 7950 it is usually about 72°C versus 86°C before.  The GPU dropped quite a bit - on the 7870 it went from 73°C down to 44°C and the 7950 went from 82°C down to 47°C.

The one on the left is a Thermaltake WATER2.0 Performer and WATER2.0 Pro on the right.  They're very similar to the Antec H20 Kuhler series which all share the same OEM, Asetek.  On my bench, I'm using the Performer for my 7950 and it cools adequately (GPU: 55°C / VRM: 71°C).

You have nothing propping your cards up?  Aren't you worried that they will tip over?   Shocked

Got a new board, though I'm not sure why since the old one also had the same slot spacing.  But I got it at a nice price so I can't really complain.

Removing the PCI brackets helps lower the temps a little.  Plus they're not as loud.

My third mining rig:

Just realized that I need to reinforce the padding for the support beam.  Seems to be slouching a bit.   Cheesy

Have a couple of miners in my bedroom.  Gets a little toasty, especially when the ambient temperature reaches 95°F.

What kind of temps do you get on those two cards lying on top?

Currently the two 5770's are at 61°C and 53°C.  The lower one is at 68°C.  And my 6950 is at a nice 78°C.  Need to get a fan behind him.   Wink

front view power buttons please )))

Hope this is what you were referring to:

Nice setup scifimike12.  Better hope USPS don't see that box being repurposed, they're not big fans of people recycling used boxes (/giggle).  Also, where is that ethernet cable going in the last pic... Do you have a switch or hub inside the case?

Thanks!  You'd be amazed at how creative I get with their shipping boxes.   Grin

Both rigs are using wireless USB adapters.  I would love to use Ethernet but unfortunately my room is on the second floor where the router is on the first.

That's a USB3 passthrough cable, routes to a front port. Only been relatively recently that cases have been wired for internal USB3 headers. I think I see a wireless antenna hugging the side of a PCI slot.

Yeah sadly my Lian-Li didn't have internal USB 3.0 header cable when I purchased it last year.  It's unsightly in the back but inside it is much more organized.  And those are open PCI slots, it looks a little deceving.   Cheesy

pekv2, you don't need 3 resisters per dummy plug. And you don't need the dvi-vga adapter either: http://blog.zorinaq.com/?e=11

That link makes no sense. on the diagram, it showing c1,c2 and c3. then a photo showing a resistor in C2-C5. And i'm not sticking nothing in my dvi ports except the dummy plugs.

I do need dummy plugs with 3 resistors, explanation below V.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=87611.msg965184#msg965184

You can insert on end in C1, C2, or C3 and the other in C5.

From the article:
Quote
I simply insert the resistor —75 Ω is the ideal spec— in the DVI output port to make contact between C1-C5 (analog red - analog ground), or C2-C5 (green - ground), or C3-C5 (blue - ground).

It's the same thing as using a dummy plug, except that you can remove the dummy plug whenever.

Damn thick cables with caps on the ends.   Tongue

I fixed it just before putting the side panel back on.

Updated one my miners to this:

And then I added this beastly rig in the same room.

Doesn't get that hot with the window fans blowing air out during the day and then blowing in at night.   Smiley
