The development team thanks the community for its ongoing support. Sentinel remains to be one of the most successful projects launched in 2018 in terms of the network growth from launch being one of the few projects this year to not even come close to its ICO levels. VPN Prototype

The Current distributed VPN prototype is meant to showcase the functionality of the blockchain based bandwidth protocols. This prototype is in no way more secure than your conventional VPN client.

Now the work towards privacy begins. TOR Entry nodes will be the first provable truly anon use case for the VPN as the TOR Entry nodes need to run the same check-summed docker version in order to be a service provider on the network thus proving to user that all traffic is being routed directly to TOR.

This feature also gives exit node providers immunity as they will then become an entry node to a layer-2 network.

From the middle of next week there will be some major releases and a rebrand.

Completion of Sentinel 'TestDrop'

Sentinel has conducted a successful 'TestDrop' where over 900 tested the Sentinel VPN MVP and provided feedback via a Telegram bot @sentinelsupportbot.

Sentinel is one of the view ERC20 Standard tokens that utilises the Ethereum chain for the purpose of non-fungible data input and validation. In this instance Sentinel has used it for the validation of the data transmitted between the service provider (exit node) and the user.

The consensus responsibility required to validate the data at point of measurement is bestowed to the 'Services Chain Payment Gateway' masternode system.

This masternode system is currently centralized and dependent on one server hosted by the developers for testing purposes. During the TestDrop there was a complete overload of the network to the point that it has not experienced before. There were over 75 active user sessions at one point which the centrally hosted masternode server was not prepared for. This led to loss in key user functions for a period of time.

The masternode system will be made partially decentralized in the 0.0.4 update as trusted community members will be able to run the masternode on the TestSENT rinkeyby chain in order to introduce layers of redundancy provision and further efforts towards a consensus validation.

The end goal of this sequence of actions is of course to decentralize the masternode system completely.

Sentinel VPN MVP Prototype Accepting Testers

Sentinel ERC20 Test – SENT TEST
The upcoming release of the Sentinel MVP allows for users to make use of the first implementation of OpenVPN in ReactNative in order to connect to community hosted exit nodes as well as setup their own node and monetize on bandwidth. The application runs directly from the user wallet.

This MVP will first be launched on the Sentinel Test Net which will be another identical ERC20 chain with the same smart contracts as the original SENT chain.
