USD being the world reserve currency is likely what he meant...and it's one big game of dominoes. If we fall, it all falls - unless there's an alternative in place, such as bitcoin

Is there a way to nominate Satoshi Nakamoto for a Nobel prize for the invention of bitcoin - even though nobody knows who it is? I think that should happen.

Also, in the doc The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin, they showed where after the false id of Dorian, that a post appeared on SN's page saying he wasn't Dorian. Was that true? Or legit from whoever Satoshi is or was that hackery?

Re: What would the US government do?
by

It'd definitely put a new spin on "Thanks, Obama!"

I think people give the government more credit than they deserve. They're not quite as on the ball as the conspiracy sorts believe. I mean it took them 20 something years to figure out who the unibomber was and usually in any given raid they fuck shit up so bad cases are overturned one after another, or the current levels of technology expose them in embarrassing ways - hence viral vids on YT.

You're talking about the same government that can't handle its own size, to the point it's splintering and imploding.

Re: THE RISE AND RISE OF BITCOIN - Full length documentary is OUT!

primewire ag has it up...

I watched it there.

Have the sads for Charlie Shrem though. And Tradehill.

Ya know, it's an interesting catch 22 - using bitcoin to move out of the old school banking model but can't get off the ground without a bank.

Decentralized and out of the control of any central authority yet at the mercy of any given bear whale who puts 30k bitcoins on the market all at once...

Bitcoin needs to find its legs. It's either disruptive or it's at the mercy of the current system and paradigm.

It needs to break out in a real way. Stop building solutions that in any manner rely on current financial models. I see the potential for it to be independent but it seems all these founders, pioneers and leaders are doing at the end of the day is bowing down and asking permission from the powers that be.

That isn't going to ever allow bitcoin to be all it can be.

Is there a proven, valid, source that provides the most likely identity of Satoshi?

It's like trying to figure out the real identity of Jack the Ripper - I'd like to see the theories and which one is the one most commonly accepted.

Anything like that floating around?

On a lighter note, the next time you feel the urge to part with your bitcoin, please send it here:

I may or may not share the uptake with you...your bitcoin is going somewhere worthy and your gambling itch is scratched. Win/win.

Happened to my former husband.

He committed suicide last month. He stole money from our son, from me, other people, made up shit where he worked to get additional compensation...cops were after him for something...was 27k in debt just what he owed me.

So if you're taking risks with money you need or that you provide for anyone else, especially kids...just consider the ultimate price you pay for stupid decisions. Your life doesn't suck by any means...unless you destroy other people in the process.

Just FYI PSA  Cry

ETA for irony purposes - in June I sent him $25 worth of bitcoin to introduce him to it. After his passing I had to go through his stuff and found the wallet info he set up for block chain and just sent it back to myself so it wasn't gone forever.

At the end of the day, the only final income received from him out of everything turned out to be bitcoin.

Brain itch after some of that CTFC meeting but hell yes, CCMF.
What was the outcome of this meeting?

Regulate BTC. Shut up and take our money! Grin

Also telling what the actual paradigm is of the one guy in particular when he wanted to know how to use bitcoin to transfer fiat.

I felt a face palm coming on  Roll Eyes

I wish the spokespeople for bitcoin would just once have the balls enough to say, we're giving you room to participate in making bitcoin a safe pain in the ass free alternative to your worthless fiat, but if you think you can regulate it out of existence, think again. It's here to stay. This is just professional courtesy...you don't control shit  Grin
