the workers offline thing has always been broken , should be fixed by setting the timeout interval but this doesnt work, it still says offline no matter what interval you set

everything else has been running great 95% of the time and i love the main UI (although not a big fan of the worker page). i dont know a better PPS pool

I have never had a problem with the workers offline thing till the past 48 hours, and I'm submitting like 80 shares every 5 mins. Nothing it updating now though.

Also,

http://www.maxbtc.com now points to a godaddy web page, and https://www.maxbtc.com is completely down. As well as the pools randomly not working.

Probly would want to check into that, cause as though its not your highest prority right now, I would bet it isnt your lowest either considering its basiucally free money as long as its up.

Lastly, is there any chance of allowing dots `.` in worker names instead of hyphens `-`?
Possibly but could you tell me why that change is important to you?

It's really more for consistency as a fallback server. This way if I do use maxbtc as backup I only need to change the ip of my miner to point to it. Otherwise I'd have to change the worker name as well and that becomes another room for error.

Add both pools to the config with one as failover? Then you dont have to change anything.

Slush's post still applies.  Regardless of what you were referring to, when he turns on the confirmation and payouts those stats will then be accurate.

Slush quote was "Pool is currently calculating block rewards, but payouts are not processed. I want to give you some time for a feedback, if block rewards are calculated +/- as expected. I need some rest now, but I'll incorporate your comments then and process payouts of your mined coins."

I am not seeing unconfirmed block rewards being calculated as expected.... hence my post.
And I'm telling you they are connected.  When he runs the payout/confirming process you will see your unconfirmed rewards sync with the block stats.
He specificallty said "I want to give you some time for a feedback, if block rewards are calculated +/- as expected."

He wants to give US some time for feedback as to if the block rewards are calulated correctly. Us...... feedback.... block rewards..... calulated correctly...

I am giving feedback.

They are not.

digital: luck and difficulty are parameters we have to deal with Smiley

I wasn't complaining, I'm well aware of how the system works.  I was responding the post quoted in my post.  He stated blocks were being found, but I replied that it had been 5 hours since a block was found.

You will find I'm one of the most patient users of slush's pool when it comes to difficulty, luck, and outages.  I'm in it for the long haul...

There have however been blocks found in the last 24 hours, and these are which I speak. Just because I am a "newb" to this board does not in any way mean I am a 'newb'. I have been mining and contributing to this comunity for quite some time. I just havent had the need to post on thiese forums ever.

Also, his quote specifically says he wants to make sure its calculating right before he confirms... I am speaking of unconfirmed, which he said WAS calculating. So please step back. Check your attitude at the door, and have a nice day.

I am noticing that even though blocks are being found, my unconfirmed numbers are not changing at all. I know we wouldnt see any confirmations or payouts, but in the statistics page I see unconfirmed amounts that are not being added to my total for  unconfirmed.

Wow... you needed .1 bitcoin so bad you were willing to pay 50% over market rates for it?

Current price is $157 I do not know where you are coming up with 50% above market rates. Will confirm
once I've received the .1bitcoin.

Well he said " $15 moneypak. There is a $5 card fee so I am not sure if its worth it to you" that's $20 for 15.70 worth of bitcoin correct?

Has anyone seen an Avalon miner in action? I was thinking about going in on one of the ASIC chip group buys and making my own!

Are you an electrical engineer, or do you know some?  It's not going to be easy to make your own miner.  I know there's someone doing the PCB part of it with chips people buy, but I don't know too much.

Yup, I am one actually! I'm planning on making one simple board to start that just holds a single asic and support circuitry (like power supply and high-frequency clock) with the data pins broken out to 0.1" headers so it can be plugged into a breadboard. People can then use this to prototype larger designs.

I can write highly optimized code (more so that what is currently out there to run these asics). Let me know when you are closer to a prototype and I will get you going if you like.

MOD EDIT:
Removed a bunch of duplicate quotes

Hi!

Please correct me if I am wrong but from what I see, bitcoin allows 100% protection for the merchant but 0% protection for the customer.
So, if we would send 780bitcoins to purchase avalon IC we just need to pray that they will deliver. If they will not deliver it's just tough.

Is this correct?

You are not able to recover the money directly. However there is always a legal system you can use to threaten or actually recover lost currency (including virtual).

I have been seeing the same thing and I was at .05+ btc and a new round just started and it shows no reward for the previous round. I have tried using the "contact" page but it doesn't work, and I even email the person listed on the whois of the domain with no response. Whats going on with macbtc? Anyone?
