Re: Name ALTCOINS that will take off until 2022

Good day Lads!

I've been a hodler for DigiByte for 3 years now and nothing happens... Any NEW or Old coins do you think would climb up the price until 2022?

P.S. Hype or Not are welcome... This is for sharing thoughts only, who knows what the future hodls!?  Wink

The world has been a global village since the Emergence of Internet in 1993. Today the talk about Libra has gained more momentum because of its affiliation to Facebook which controls the  global media and content sharing platform housing over 2billion people. So I see Libra coin a major breakout coin

Definitely. Libra will be a game changer in the future if Facebook is able to launch the Libra coin officially without any barrier because Libra will be exposed to billions of people through Facebook and they can expand it to Instagram and WhatsApp that they own.

Apart from Libra, I see some real good partnerships with big enterprises from Ripple, IOTA and VeChain as well. Those are the ones that I believe that will dominate in the cryptocurreny world in 2022

Re: Liquidity
by

How we can get liquidity for crypto to crypto in an Exchange??

Mainly, the cryptocurrency exchange should have a considerable number of users to get the liquidity for a particular trading pair. This is because when the number of users of the exchange increases, it will make more buyers and sellers.

The other way to have increased liquidity in an exchange is attracting market makers to the exchange by giving competitive trading fees for giving liquidity to the exchange.

Trading incentives for traders such as reduced fees and trading competitions also help to increase the liquidity.

Therefore, as an individual you cannot increase the volume of an exchange. It's up to the exchange to increase the liquidity by doing the tasks mentioned above.

Personally I think that altcoins will rise and become more popular than Bitcoin in the future.  This is because due to several drawbacks of bitcoin.

One drawback is the scalability. With the rise of bitcoin transactions, we can already observe that it takes time to confirm a transaction and this will give advantage to the true altcoins that solves this scalability issue. Another thing is that bitcoin mining needs a considerable power consumption. Therefore, alternative algorithms like PoS will be prefered by the people as those algorithms don't need such a power consumption.

I agree that there are so many useless altcoins. However, my opinion is altcoins that can truly facilitate mass adoption with less barriers won't be useless.

Delta is one of most popular crypto portfolio app that you can try.

Apart from Delta, you can also try Blockfolio, Gem, CryptoCompare, CoinTracking, Coinstats and Coinmanager apps as well.

Each app has its own pros and cons. Therefore, it's up to you to decide which portfolio tracker is suitable for your requirements.

Re: Another U.S. Crypto Ban!? It's time for US to take ACTION!
by

on 16/06/2019, 07:13:36 UTC
As others mentioned Binance is just separating their global exchange from USA and starting a separate exchange that comlpy with US regulations. It's not a ban imposed by the US government. Just a strategy to on-board USA traders by complying with USA regulations through their new US site.

I assume that there will not be IEOs in USA site as well as some other tokens that can be classified as security tokens. Furthermore, there may not trading competitions as well. However, Binance may accept fiat deposits and withdrawals for USA customers with the new USA site. We all know that accepting USA customers legally means Binance has to adopt those changes to those customers and personally I don't see it as an issue.

Re: Any new exchanges lately?

Are there any new exchanges lately that I can purchase bitcoin from a bank account with in the US besides coinbase or Gemini?

Alternatively, has anyone ever been banned from the 2 aforementioned sites and then been allowed to use them again?

BitStamp recently got the BitLicense. So, if you are a resident in New York, you may try BitStamp.

The other exchange is Huobi USA. They also accept bank transfers as fiat deposits.

Since I am not in USA, I don't know much about the quality of their service for USA residents. However, I can recommend BitStamp as a non-USA resident as they have fast withdrawals and very good liquidity. I am yet to use Huobi even as a non-USA user. Therefore, cannot comment  on them much.

Re: Localbitcoins removes face to face cash trades
by

There are few disadvantages for the traders with this decision.

One disadvantage is buyers who really want to buy bitcoin in person to avoid from scams will loose that opportunity by removing this option. May be we can expect an increase of victims of scammers in localbitcoins because of this.

The other one is that, there are lot of people who don't have even a bank account. Now, there is a barrier to those traders as they cannot find buyers and sellers who sell or buy BTC in person.

Re: Spectre.ai information - Trading platform now LIVE!

Could you tell me how much APR % this dividend was?
Am I right you had to perform KYC and then connect your ERC 20 SXDT address to get that dividend?
I have not as much SXDT to bother with KYC so I just hodling my SXDT on my wallet.
Or KYC isn't  necessary and if yes I would gladly took some "free" tokens Wink
Will be gratefull for your help!

You need to create an account on https://rewards.spectre.ai/ and then you need to add your ERC20 address just by typing it. Once done, you can see your rewards in the "REWARD DETAILS" section by selecting your added ERC20 address. To claim it, you'll need to complete KYC and this you can do only via Metamask, Trezor or Ledger wallets. Without KYC, you can't claim any dividend. Check your rewards first Smiley

Thanks, so my rewards are accrued regardless of my registration?
In what form are the rewards ? Is it  any Spectre.ai tokens or maybe ETH ?

BTW I wish I hasn't noticed that price of SXDT was almost two times higher than now - maybe I would sell and buy back now ;>

For the first question, as long as you hold SXDT in a personal ETH wallet, it should accumulate rewards regardless you registered in the rewards portal.
But you have to register in the rewards portal, pass KYC verification and the ETH wallet (Metamask or Ledger wallet) to take out your rewards to the same ETH wallet.
Rewards are distributed in ETH.

It's up to you whether sell or buy SXDT.  Grin
Personally, I am very bullish about the project.

Re: Can bitcoin be worthless?
by

on 27/05/2019, 19:19:50 UTC
Bitcoin won't be worthless in the near future. Bitcoin is already accepted as a payment method by leading companies as well some government agencies. Since there is a limited supply of Bitcoin available, price won't be worthless. Personally, I believe that the only reason its price can go down in the future will be rise of new cryptocurrencies with better technology, capabilities and decentralization. Imagine if altcoins such as Ethereum, XRP, NEO, TRON are not existing now, Bitcoin could have a higher price than it's current price in my opinion.

Re: Bittrex locked me out
by
shane
on 27/05/2019, 18:59:27 UTC
Bittrex is not a bad exchange for me in terms of their service.

However, most of exchanges ask for a selfie of yours along with the photo ID to ensure that the photo ID is not a stolen one. This is doing for your own safety because if someone else who stole your photo of photo ID can pretend as you and do illegal activities which is known as identity theft.

Exchanges have to comply with the rules and regulations and they asked to take necessary measures to identify their customers. Therefore, we have to do it and pass the KYC verification though we don't like it.

To be honest, non of freebitco.in site's games didn't give me good results. Ended up without wining BTC Sad

I am not saying that it's a scam, because I heard that the site issue withdrawals for the users earned bitcoin there but my personal opinion is that you can find lot more ways to earn money instead of wasting time for these kind of websites.

Re: Why The Excitement for IEOs?
by
shane
on 27/05/2019, 17:37:11 UTC

Lately, there is a surging interest of many investors for IEO (Initial Exchange Offering) projects and many are reporting good profits or ROI for their investments. There is an ongoing IEO for a good project in the Binance Launchpad and you have to be on the lottery for the chance to buy the coins. Other similar exchanges are reporting good reception of projects under the IEO label.

So what is IEO? In its simplest term, this has the same principles surrounding the ICO platform but here an exchange is given the vast role in the whole crowdfunding process. In ICO, the main players are the developers and the token buyers but here in IEO one more party is involved and that is the exchange, of course.

So why more and more people are trusting the IEO more than ICO? Simply because the project is capitalizing on the platform and reputation of the exchange. This is quite advantageous to project developers as they can easily tap the vast resources and membership of the exchange and on the part of the investor they are assured of almost instant trading option for the tokens or coins bought.

Just like the ICO which is now a much-maligned platform due to many scams and failed projects, there are many advantages and maybe some disadvantage of the IEO option. Do you see this as the killer and replacement of the ICO?

Definitely it's really good replacement for ICOs. Project owners don't have to worry much about finding investors and marketing while investors like us can easily find good investment opportunities through IEOs.

The most important advantage is that we have more trust with IEOs over ICOs because exchanges usually don't list scam IEOs to damage their reputation. Therefore, they do a due diligence before deciding to list an IEO. Therefore, probability to become an IEO as scam is very less. The other advantage is that probability to become an IEO successful is higher than an ICO. If you see the IEOs held in reputable exchanges, you can verify it.

Due to these reasons, I believe that IEO is a good replacement for ICO.

Yes, this is true. We can already see that there is an increase of scams with this cryptocurrency price uptrend. New scam websites popping up every day offering bitcoin ponzi schemes, free or dirt cheap mining, fake bitcoin giveaways etc.

I think specially new comers to cryptocurrency should learn about these scams as they are not aware of it. If not, they will be victims of those scammers.

Re: Is btcrise.me scam or legit?
by

on 26/05/2019, 17:17:41 UTC
It's a scam. You just need to check to their link (top left of the site) to UK companies house to verify whether it is a scam or not.

It's a company named Rise Limited and the nature of business is specialized design services. What's a mining company has to do with designing?  Grin
Nature of the business should be some thing like data processing, hosting or related services or investing.

What these scammers did was copied someone else company details and pretend that they are legit. But their failed attempt is exposed under the nature of business in UK companies house website.

What I have to say is stay away from that scam.

Re: Any Decent Exchanges?
by
shane
on 26/05/2019, 16:26:51 UTC
After the Binance hack, I no longer use Binance. Delayed withdraws, hacks, ect. I just don't want to deal with them anymore. So, with that being said, I want to find a new exchange for my crypto needs. I also, am not a fan of Coinbase/Coinbase Pro due to their Bitcoin Cash fiasco. I've been reading about several exchanges and HITBTC is one that keeps popping up. It seems like it has a decent amount of positive sentiment surrounding it (https://tipestry.com/topics/5ce9b551e528302571b89464/hitbtc-possibly-insolvent,-claims-new-report). What do you guys think? Is it worth using? Have any of you ever used this exchange?

HitBTC is not a recommended exchange. Binance is way better than HitBTC though they have been hacked recently because they handled it smoothly without putting the risk on the customers' side. HitBTC also known for withdrawal delays, high withdrawal fees for certain coins as well as account freezes without valid reasons.

Out of the exchanges I have used so far, Bitstamp is the one that satisfied me. They have decent withdrawal times for all coins and never faced any issue so far.
But if you want an exchange that doesn't ask your KYC details, then it is not the exchange for you.

Re: When did you start trading?
by
shane
on 26/05/2019, 07:57:44 UTC
I started to trade daily around 4 years ago. Before, I started trading I learnt basics of technical analysis and fundamental analysis for about 1 year.

Usually I don't go for higher targeted profits and trying to make small profits everyday.

What I can say is that it's not easy to become profitable and there are bad days for me though I have 4 years of experience, specially in the days that bitcoin or Ethereum price goes up or down drastically. However sometimes the past experience would help you to minimize your losses. Therefore I can say that  having a good experience in trading would be an added advantage.  Smiley

Re: Stable coin
by
shane
on 26/05/2019, 06:26:20 UTC
Stable coins are not exposed to price volatility like other coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Therefore the price of your stable coin holdings will remain same anytime.

One important use case of stable coins is that you can enjoy to keeping your wealth in the the digital form instead of traditional fiat money in the form of  physical cash without exposing to any change of your wealth. This means, you don't have to keep them in a safe locker or bank or any other physical location.

Another use case of stable coins is that it can be used for trading. In a bear market/trend, value of regular cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin goes down against traditional fiat currency. Therefore, keeping your digital currency in the form of stable coin which is pegged to USD or EUR will help you to not to become unprofitable in a bear market.

Re: what do you make out of Binance hack
by
shane
on 26/05/2019, 05:28:34 UTC
Binance CEO was able to manage the incident smoothly without damaging their reputation much and having the SAFU fund helped him to recover from the loss. Therefore, we should give them the credits to opening up the precautionary SAFU fund.

According to their findings, the hackers were able to bypass the pre-withdrawal risk management checks which not good. We can see that there were number of withdrawals that exceeded 100 BTC daily withdrawal limit in that BTC block. If they had a perfect pre-withdrawal risk management checking system, the damage would be less as the hackers cannot steal more than 100 BTC from an account.

What they should do is review all of their risk management systems, find whether there are vulnerabilities or loopholes and take action to strengthen them. I hope that they did it when they went for the maintenance mode. They should also review their systems regularly as a proactive action.

Re: Can Bitcoin hit 100k in 2020?
by

on 25/05/2019, 18:53:19 UTC
Bitcoin is about to get a lot more expensive than it is today,
So is it possible to see Bitcoin price hovering around 100k each by next year and why?

Source:   https://medium.com/@Amiono4/can-bitcoin-hit-100-000-in-2020-a4c424cc1d34

First of all, I don't care Julion Hosp's predictions in that article because he showed us his capabilities as the president of TenX. lol

My personal opinion is that it will hit it's all time high (around $20K) in 2020 as we can see that the BTC adoption is happening day by day. Therefore, there is a room to go up the BTC price naturally to it's all time high in 2020.  Hitting $100K also possible if there are lot of bullish news in 2020 from the key players like SEC. However, I believe that the probability to hit $100K in 2020 is low.

Re: Are ICOs dead?
by
shane
on 25/05/2019, 18:37:43 UTC
For me not, IEO is the new ico right now, IEO still count as ICO the difference is the funding was made inside the exchange, and IEO now can reach numbers back when ico's is still at it's prime.

Agreed.

IEO is the latest form of ICO. Project owners can easily reach the potential investors through cryptocurrency exchanges and they don't need to spend time on finding investors. Most of IEOs recah hard caps within minutes. This shows that ICOs are not dead. There is just an evolution of ICO.

In the future, we will be able to see another evolution of ICOs. It's STOs.  Wink
